The most irritated I've ever seen Phil is a time that one team got eliminated after finishing a task ~4 hours after everyone else, despite having an Express Pass they hadn't used, and it got to the point where the dude just couldn't find the right surfboard from a pile of them, and tried to cheat by looking at the other surfboards. Everyone else finished during the day, but he was still trying and failing late at night, and you could tell that Phil had 0 patience for them at that point.
@@bigonbooks4736 Season 22 would be my best guess. It's been a while since I watched it, but Jessica and John are listed in the Wiki as the first team to be eliminated with the express pass in their possession.
It was season 22, but Jessica & John come back for all stars season 24 & actually do so much better. They end up getting 7th in season 24 after losing a 3 way footrace to the Afghanimals & the Globetrotters at the end.
I really hope Anthony and Spencer, Connie and Sam, and Taylor and Isaiah get a second chance on the amazing race one day. I fully understand why they couldn't come back, but it always stung to me. Same with Will and Abby from season 34. They got eliminated from the race because of Covid.
I've always felt the teams who got canned because of the virus need a second chance. They did not deserve to have their journey cut short from something unpredictable and at times asymptomatic. Disappointed even more that Caro & Ray are no longer on speaking terms between the filming hiatus too so there's no chance they are ever coming back.
This is my favorite season I’ve seen. It was the first one I watched live, and honestly I prefer no u-turns/express passes. I get my social game/strategy kick from Survivor-I like the purer, just-run-the-race gameplay of AR 33/34.
That's why I also love the pioneer seasons of 1-3. Pure racing, just more navigational prowess as it predated mandatory in-car GPS, smartphones, etc. Longer routes and more personality.
Ngl, even though Kim and Penn seem super cool, I feel bad the runners up didn’t get the money. Sounds like they really needed it. Hope they’re doing well!
If you take suggestions, I would love a video about TAR 6 calling it the most intense and chaotic season ever. I don't know how the season casted so many dating/married teams since there's usually more variety and I am stunned by how messy and dark it is. It's almost like TAR's equivalent to Survivor Thailand. This especially goes for Jonathan Baker who was, without a doubt, the worst person to ever compete on The Race based on actions performed on the show. One video essay that's less likely to happen, but that I'd still love to see would be a video covering the Beauty Queens from TAR 10. Went from being perceived as non-threats to proving themselves as serious threats. The audience reaction was positive enough that they came back one season later.
Nepal has topped my TAR wishlist for a long time, and it was on the originally planned route for 33. Of course they would finally go there on the season that got screwed up! At least I got to enjoy two legs of it a few years ago, on the Israeli version of TAR, or I'd have been more annoyed 😅
This is definitely a unique season. Arun and Natalia’s second chance was full of blunders and narrow survivals and the other teams have admitted they would have been prime U-turn targets if the U-turn was on this season. Supposedly, the rest of the cast didn’t like the returnee twist even if they probably understood it was necessary. Teams like Andrew and Dan, Meredith and Gretchen, and Ally and Ashley were all major Elimination Houdini's as well, but none of them were eliminated and came back afterwards. That’s probably not going to happen ever again.
You started the video great with Michael and Moe singing, but then you had to awaken the earworm about Donald and his darned troooooosers!!! Would have liked more spotlight on Raquel and Cayla, they are a strong team and really went toe to toe with everybody. One thing more: I always LOVED the last Amazing Race puzzle of the season as it is a very fun and engaging challenge and sort of becomes a recap of the season. I wonder if Survivor could do something similar for their last challenge so it would not be the same run of the mill jigsaw puzzle or ball handling challenges they always seem to have.
20:47 you can see one of the teams that couldn't return on the race bcuz of Covid at the finish line with the other eliminated teams (I believe they were called "Internet Sensations" I could be wrong) I was watching the finale with my dad and we both were like "Who tf is that? This is the season that inspired my CBS Reality Shakeup Theory with the season originally targeted for a Fall 2021 premiere in commemoration of the show’s 20th anniversary.
