The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

Sophia Loren..looked amazing here....60 years ago.....i wonder if she remembers this
and the Great Jackie Wilson....and it has to be said...how ed Sullivan supported him...and many many other performers that were not getting fair treatment from the country....
This song was co-written by Al Kasha, a very dear friend. Al had written 7 songs for Jackie.He also wrote songs for Many other artists from Bobby Darin, Donna Summers, Elvis Presley and many others, but he always said that Jackie was by far the greatest.
He thrilled me so, I turned a back-over flip. He was so great, there aren't enough words to describe him.
Ed must've really, really liked Jackie...and Ed had the juice to make or break one's career or future hopes of one...and yes...I saw Elvis on Ed's Show in 1956...
I was upset that this clip was removed from the other channel. But I'm glad it's uploaded again.. Mr. Excitement is my daily vitamin.

The great Jackie Wilson! Thank you so much for posting this. This song charted at #19 on the Billboard Hot 100, and #9 on the R&B chart, in 1961. Jackie also sang "For Me and My Gal" on this episode. Sophia Loren, seen at the start of this video, was on the show to promote her movie, "Two Women".

And got robbed by his manager for all his money while being brain dead in the retirement home getting abused🤒
Because of the "cage" Mr. Jackie Wilson was enclosed, he could not move or dance like he was accustomed to. IMHO.
Maybe his manager, or family members, told the producers something.
There was only one camera, and they couldn't chase him everywhere! 😄
He was just too cool for technology.

@@KajiVocals The first notes of the intro, the high note in the first chorus and Jackie Wilson's ending note certainly reminded me of a falsetto. I am not trained in voice, however, so I must defer to those who know better.
