    Wow. This is such an excellent video. Jackie Wilson is my grandfather & this is the first time I've ever seen a side by side video montage of them both. You can definitely see the influence in what you captured. He was also was influenced by his vocal style. Thanks for helping to keep his legacy alive!

    I learned something new every day I never knew Jackie Wilson had a bigger influence on Michael Jackson's stage presence. I can clearly see where Michael get his footwork from.

      You are absolutely correct, Michael always credited Jackie as one of his top influences and this video was my way of reminding people of this fact. Also if you pay close attention to Jackie's facial expressions (winks, flashy smile, lip curls) Michael clearly borrowed his stage Charisma as well. However if you pay attention James Brown spinned backwards and Michael spinned forwards just like Jackie, also as a singer Michael's vocal technique especially in his childhood ballads were clearly patterned after Jackie as Berry Gordy said himself that Jackie set the standard that he would expect every singer to meet.

    Jackie Wilson's also known for his knee drops or basically, dropping to the ground. Michael really did get it from Jackie. Michael also says he was influenced by Fred Astaire but I've never heard him mention Bob Fosse. The Billie Jean dance he did on his concerts resembles the A Snake in the Grass by Bob Fosse in The Little Prince

Later on when he became the poster boy of rock and roll African American artist started to borrow from him as well since mainstream America proved that no matter how exceptionally talented the aforementioned artist were they would still give Elvis first preference. ...

      First of all I LOVE Stevie! He is a musical genius that comes along one in several life times, however Jackie was an established singer way before Stevie. So it's likely that Stevie also looked up to JW as well

    Michael was good at both singing and dancing. Jackie was great at singing and dancing. Michaels dancing was more mechanical, Jackie just plain could dance. Jackie topped Michael in vocals, his voice was stronger.

    Jackie Wilson and James Brown as a tag team. Who could beat them? Jackie had the far superior voice and look but James was by far the better Dancer and innovator. But combined together..unstoppable.
    They are up against Prince and MJ in Heaven right now.
