hi Michael.. just found your channel... you make me giggle... love the way that you speak to the orchids... very cute....i hve moved all my orchids over to small pebbles in glass vases....not really SWC but the water is just under the top of the pebbles...lots of moisture...and the tips of some roots can reach ...i did not have a good go at FWC several yrs ago... and bark media... was not a good way to go for me....
so am trying to get the best option for all my orchid varieties...i mainly have phals/ omcids/miltass/etc...

Hi, since you wanted updates on how my cymbidium bulb is doing in semi hydroponics, I've put it in a pot with spaghnum moss and it gets now direct sun all day long. I hope that it will think it's spring and it will put out a new shoot! When the roots get long enough I'll put it in semi hydro. I guess they won't die, but let's see what happens...

Thank you Micheal for putting this together. Love the detail you provide to where the drain hole and root sits. Does the oncidium have the die back like the phals might be prone to ? Best of luck with your baby.

I find that there is almost no die back on the roots when I adapt oncidiums. It seems to be a much easier process with oncidiums and inter generics

They are separeted so easily! My minibush divided itself in 5 pots! All are feeling ok separately.

Hmm, I just repotted my Twinkle 'HOF #1' into the exact same container (from the dollar store), although I briefly considered a large wine glass. Eerie or great minds thinking alike? :-)
