Thanks for the idea. I have my grandmothers album covered with just the same white cover. I will print the album's cover and put it over the plain white background.
Nice job on that book cover! I keep my stamps in binders and really get into personalizing the cover and binders. There are all kinds of ways you can use fancy it up - flags, maps, clip art. You can play around with the fonts too and really spruce it up.
Congrats - it looks like you did a masterful job. I got an album in similar condition - but it was from 1947. I didn't think to reglue it - I used duct tape and it held up for a year or so - so I went to a Scott's pre-1940 set of pages and their binders. Then I ran out of space for some of the individual countries and found print-it-yourself (on 65lb stock) albums from the internet that listed all stamp issues. You cannot imagine how puny your collection can look when *all* issues for a country are displayed. And now I design and print my own pages for separate series - like Germania, Sage and early Victorians. It never ends.
Great restoration job which shows us that you are a real craftsman. 👍 The only problem I can see is that a lot of these old album pages are not acid free so I would avoid to put some valuable gems into them. Greets from GER, U.
And we are off with a great start! I am so looking forward to see that big boy getting filled! I am usually not a fan of hinges, but for this particular project, on a vintage album, I think it's the most logical way to mount the stamps. It makes perfect sense in this case. I could almost smell the Chinese food cooking while you were mounting the stamps... I guess you must have been pretty "hungary" by the end of the video? (sorry, I couldn't resist!)
I find myself feeling maybe better about replacing damaged stamps than putting in a stamp I did not have. You made me realize junk stamps don't look good in an album.
I am at war with hinges so personally I would have put mounts maybe even split back ones. End result looks nice but I prefer to have each country in a separate stockbook before going into the main collection albums.
I recently re-glued the loose spine of a Lighthouse stockbook. I drizzled in Elmers Craft Bond glue (supposedly has some flex to it when dried) and used a giant cotton swab to spread it around. Worked great. Your older album will look great when filled.
Wow... A bunch of Hungarian stamps that you got and "never did anything with". I think that applies to about 348,726 of my philatelic pieces 😂 But seriously, I haven't gone through much of my pre-1950 Hungarian material. This video made me want to do just that. 👍 I hope dinner was delicious and your IHOP mug survived. I know I would be quite sad if my "Latte Larry's" mug met a bad turn of fate
great vid. i'm totally against hinges, but in this case i would only use used stamps...otherwise it would be nice to have cut transparent mounts for each line [Note, not each stamp] and then put the used stamps in their place.Nice cover to the album too. What we can do nowadays is something we could not have imagined a few years ago or even 40 years ago.
Nice work on the dust jacket. It is so satisfying to fill pages completely, I even like watching other people do it...who knew?!
Who knew stamp collecting was a spectator sport? 😆
I second Scott's comment!
@@phils473 😀
Twaskyou sr for all information the your abm stamps.
Blessings
Always love watching your videos! Beautiful stamps! I hope your dinner was delicious! Happy Stamping!
Thanks Daniel. I hope everything is well with your family. 😀
Nova Scotia! Excellent! As a Bluenoser (Nova Scotian), this is wonderful to see😊
Thanks, Jeff. Glad you like it.
I really just love the cover of the album. One never fails to learn something new from your videos. Thanks Ted.
Thanks again.

Sounds like a plan. 😄

Yeah, I never lack for anything to do when it comes to stamps.

No, nothing of any significant monetary value will be mounted in this album.

Ha ha. Thanks, Ranger Sly. 😄
This is a nice job, I love what you did for this album. Nova Scotia stamp for the cover edge gave a fantastic look!
Thanks, Yves. The queen does lend a touch of class, doesn’t she?
Hi ted james here again. The easiest way to straighten your image is to overlay a grid from toolbox.
Thank you very much Mr Stamps
Don’t mention it, Mr Stories.
I find myself feeling maybe better about replacing damaged stamps than putting in a stamp I did not have. You made me realize junk stamps don't look good in an album.
And you derive more pleasure, and feel more pride, in something you’ve made look as nice as possible.
I am at war with hinges so personally I would have put mounts maybe even split back ones.
End result looks nice but I prefer to have each country in a separate stockbook before going into the main collection albums.
That’s one of the great things about this hobby - it’s flexible and adaptable to everyone’s preferences.
Very nice. The album looks great!!
Thanks, JC.

I’m enjoying fixing it up and filling spaces. Thanks for watching, Raven.
Probably the most accurate YT video of historical collecting. I have a bunch of large Minkus albums and the stamps are hinge mounted. Nice work!
Thank you very much.
Very nice. Thank you.
Thank you, Charles.
The dust jacket is an inspiring bit of work! Big fan, Ted
Thanks a lot, Eoghan. I appreciate it.
Delicious dinner and a growing album. What greater pleasure could there be for a philatelist?
I know, right?
I love the organ music!
The album is looking great!
Thanks Karen.
Hinging stamps the old fashioned way😮 lick 'em and stick 'em.
The old ways are often the best. 😄

Latte Larry sounds like a good coffee mate. 😄

Thanks Roger. I appreciate the comments.
Awesome Research :-)
Thanks, Nisarg.
That's really cool mate - love it ! Have an awesome day💥! From HWFAH (Hot Wheels, Lego, Cards & collectables) 👍
Thank you very much.
Здорово 👍
👌
Thank you.
Good job! Is it possible to find a person to exchange stamps here? I have many stamps of the USSR
I was going to suggest you ho to my stamp forum, but it looks like you already found it. 😀
👏👏👏👍
Thank you, Max.
