Many thanks for the kind comments! One of my pet hates is people who are walking/jogging with their earphones on while they take up the entire path! No situational awareness at all and very selfish! I edited out the bit of the video where I was having a rant to myself about that jogger!
What a great way to spend a sunny Sunday. I live not far south of your ride in Nuneaton and use the Coventry and Ashby canal towpaths. You probably know that the Ashby canal connects with the Fazely in Tamworth......I haven't made it that far yet but I'm working on it.
Thanks for your comments Gary! I’m always looking for new ideas of places to explore, so maybe heading further into Warwickshire is a plan for a future video! We are very blessed to have such an extensive canal network here in the midlands which makes planning traffic-free routes a lot easier!
Hi Dave - I know this area well but only using my road bike so it was interesting to see you on some of the off road sections. I've always wondered what was down through the Firing Range at Hopwas woods and I've had similar problems to you down Dunstall Lane. I used this lane before the estate was built and was turned back by workers when it was under construction - I was going to have a look to see it the route had been reinstated - so now I know - just hope that eventually a cycle path will be provided. If you're ever in the area again have a look at the lane which goes through The Canwell Estate and over the ford at Hints - well worth a ride out. Thanks for the videos.
Thanks for the comment Brian, and glad you enjoyed seeing familiar sights in the video! Good shout too about the Canwell estate, there are some good bridleways with good views too at the highest spots! I recently walked a circular route around Hints and Weeford - beautiful part of the world and thankfully not too ravaged by HS2 works (yet)
My poor cat got killed on the road last week, and when i seen that lovely friendly cat on here i can't help but thinking it won't last long hanging out around that roadway.
I'm so sorry to read about your poor cat :( it was lovely to see that friendly kitty as I was leaving Lichfield and thankfully the road I was on wasn't too busy so hopefully it'll be ok! Thanks again for watching!
great vid dave you missed out capt smith statue in beacon park it was relocated there as the people of stoke didnt want him tarnishing the reputation of stoke after the titanic sank
Hi John - thanks so much for the information, I had no idea about the Captain Smith statue! I notice on the video at 6:24 i cycle right by the statue and I didn't even notice it! I'll have to check it out properly next time I'm in Lichfield!
Very enjoyable, and well done for not giving the selfish jogger a push! 😂😂
