Very solid solo project to debut with. I'm so proud of JK. And now that everyone had debuted with something, I can't help but feel like BTS has already started to deliver on their promise that the best is yet to come. They've all done such wonderful work and showed off what they can do on their own. It's going to be fun seeing all of their lovely musical colours shine as a group.

Totally agree. US older (in 60's) lady here. I love this album. I had the same reaction first time hearing Somebody...I didn't think it was JK singing the first verse. lol My favorites are Standing Next to You and Hate You, but really they are all great! Jung Kook's voice is amazing. Closer to You has been growing on me a lot too - it's different.
You're not crazy John and so spot-on...!! From the first listen of 'Somebody' I couldn't figure out who's voice JK resembled and you are absolutely right...Aaron Neville👍...!!

JungKook has outdone himself with this album...absolutely incredible...and wait till you see his live performance of 'Standing Next to You' on iHeart Radio...totally stunning...a born performer/star👏...!!!

Aaron Neville a very cool unique singer from New Orleans. JK voice is not like Aaron’s but I get your observation about the techniques. Great that JK displaying such a variety of his voice on Golden!

A 44-year old army here who was a kid/teen listening to Aaron Neville and the Neville brothers. I definitely know who you're talking about and I can hear it a little bit. Somebody is probably tied as my favorite with Standing Next To You.

@@komerican-og i had to go re-listen to some linda ronstadt and aaron neville to remind myself what he sounded like, and yes, i totally agree with you. it's a very nasal, piercing kind of vocalisation that cuts right through all the layers of sound and enters directly into your ears!

@@onenottwoorthree Scary isnt he Lol. He really has some great songs. When it fits it is so beautiful. BTW it is a very particular way of vocalizing and I am so curious what else JK can do...
@@komerican-og I imagine a lot! JK's always an incredible mimic and I think that's what serves his singing practice so well. I think where he shines best (for now??) is in ballads though - there's something about his delivery that is emotional and so sincere, that doesn't quite come through in his other work (even if he sounds very very good). I'm looking forward to seeing his long term growth.
@@onenottwoorthree You are so right...JK's uncanny ability to mimic and his perfect pitch allows him to produce multiple/diverse voices in his music...his potential is limitless it seems...added to incredible performance talents/charisma on stage and the world of music/entertainment is his👍...!!
P.S. Aaron Neville/Linda Ronstadt duets...absolutely gorgeous and deeply emotional👏...!!
