JK’s comfort zone- talking to Army, we are so lucky as if we are his friends listening to his stories, am always looking forward to JK’s Vlive, he got good content material, full of surprises and impressed with his communication skill.

Jungkook is like me. Lol. I can go through hardships but then I'm over it. I don't forget it. But I do move on and that's exactly what he ment. He doesn't want to write about BTS hardships beacause he is over it and what else can he write about? 12 songs about his love for army? He has written about 3 or 4 already. Which people seem to forget. So I'm glad he chose songs that he likes and thought we would enjoy aswell.
to be fair what he says absolutely makes sense in regards to lyrics. for golden, he didn't have anything to write, and that's fine? that's why lyricists exist? but, even when he does want to write lyrics, they get taken by the crew of music producers and other fellow lyricists where it gets reworked over and over until the final product is different from the original. jungkook already spends so much time recording the guides and background vocals and trying to decide on what vocal colours and textures will sound good on the record. he's a vocalist at the end of the day and navigating the vocals he does is where he shines best and a better use of time.
that's not to say i don't absolutely love songs like still with you, magic shop, film out - but those songs are very much about army and how he feels about army. if he's gonna do an album, multiple songs have to be on the record with multiple different stories in the songs. so of course he'd want to branch out. but as far as lyricism goes, he is an amazing lyricist, but i can understand why he would prefer producing more than lyricism. because honestly, he has more free reign when it's him in the studio messing around with vocals and sounds whereas if he were gonna lock himself in a room to write songs, the wording wouldn't be the exact same to how jungkook would have planned it.
i think as well when he said about frustrations - he was saying that lyricists will often write about the frustrations and make a narrative about those frustrations whereas jungkook is more simple than that. he'll write a fan song to army about those frustrations directly instead of trying to make a story about it.

JK is amazing and incomparable as he is, and yet so humble. He's proven he can write beautiful songs before. His talent is outstanding. There will always be negative criticisms, always dictating and imposing what they want for whatever reason, and always finding fault. That's what they do.
well, while i understand his decision to not write songs i just think that he is reaaally critical of himself, he doesn't have confidence in his songwriting and producing skills when i think they're great! I mean, look at the songs he did: Magic Shop (MAIN producer, composer, lyricist), Love is not over (composer, lyricist), Run (composer, lyricist), My time (composer, lyricist), still with you (producer, composer, lyricist) and not to forget the iconic Decalcomania that even though it's a demo the lyrics are so pretty, and other songs both solo and under BTS that he did that are my favorites: Telepathy, Run BTS, My You, etc. Also, although they don't credit him for that, Jungkook does most of the vocal production in BTS songs (i honestly don't know the reason why they don't credit him because people credit other singers for that, e.g: Beyoncé, Doja Cat), like Jamais Vu. Anyway, he has the talent and he writes since 15yo, he just don't seems to think much of himself as a songwriter but i think he's full of emotions to make beautiful songs. Ofc I don't want him to feel in a rush, but it'd be nice if he give himself a chance to work like that. On a side note, I just want to hear something like Decalcomania from him again.
I personally presume he compares himself a lot with the rappers.
They were the ones inspiring and pushing the singers to make their own stuff first after all.
RM is a lyrical genius, Suga writes and produces songs like Its breathing, and J-Hope is very aware of his own distinct style and what he wants.
The rappers have set such high standards as the base level when it comes to the creation of songs. Not at all a bad thing!
In general, the singers are the performers and the rappers are the core of BTS songs. Both are equally as important for BTS and part of BTS's greatness.
And I don't mind that JK doesn't write his own stuff. JK's passion has always been in singing and performance, and that is what I fell in love with.
But I would be ecstatic if in the future he decided to try to release some of his own songs. I am still hoping for a finished Decalcomania lol
*But* JK's life has always been BTS. He says he doesn't remember too much before BTS, and ARMY and BTS members are the majority of his life. He also is simple-minded(not empty-headed).
I can totally see how writing for him can be challenging. All his past songs have been a song about ARMY, about his experience growing up in the spotlight, or about his BTS members.
There is only so much you can write from that, but that is his life.
He has been shy, but he hasn't dealt with mental struggles like other members. Not in the way he has lots to say/write about. Nor many doubts or self-image problems.
He is the type to just deal with it by himself, learn from it, and then move on. Luckily things like that don't haunt him.
Even his relationship with fans and the public is pretty simple all things considered. No separate stage persona, or struggles within himself of who the real him is, or how he has had to fight himself with fame, or how the fame affected him.
Jungkook has always been just Jungkook. He is great like that.
But it really doesn't leave much room to write things about. It has always been ARMY, BTS, and Jungkook with him.

@@kunilsen2519 i agreed with everything you said! i think he has a personality that must struggle a lot being in the spotlight, he's a born artist but is very introvert and sensitive, and his mindset that he needs to do things all by himself is very strong, so i think that doing music like an catharsis, like other members especially the rappers do, has little to no effect on him. Decalcomania was maybe an exception, but he didnt even released it and he doesnt want to. Ofc, as i said, i'll always support his true passion which is singing and performing, but i love the way he's so simple yet so emotion with his songs, so i'll always look forward to it. sorry for the late response, i only now saw your response XD.
Jungkook was enjoying his rest after the break he was not feeling pressure to write and do a solo since the other members were doing their thing. We as fans put the pressure on him. Including myself, but I am more happy when he says that he really really was enjoying his time off with no work.
I'm glad he took that Xtra time off, because now he's refreshed and re-energized and boy is he exceeding everyone's expectations.
I just enjoyed his lives lol
It was such a great time. That period will have a special place in my memories. And I am grateful he spent time with us even when he had 0 work or obligations to ARMY/BTS.

Jungkook is so funny, if he writes, his lyrics will only be Army related. Even though he's a global star and has gone through many experiences in his musical career, he's lived a very protected life. He hasn't gone through many of the personal experiences or challenges like us, except media and public scrutiny as a BTS member. So until he's inspired to write I'm not going to make a fuss. I'm just going to appreciate him before he leaves.

I love the album, doesn't matter who wrote the songs but JK chose the best and he's good at that, he knows what suits him and that is an art too. Maybe he will write songs later but not something to worry about JK, your innumerable talents are enough to satisfy Army that's why we love seeing you, besides singing songs from other lyricists gives them so much colour and diversity
