There's also a parallel universe where Lars is the drummer for Trivium, and uses the St. Anger snare on every album

This is one of the coolest trivium songs and this album cover is one of my favorite. I used to sleep on them when I first got into metal but they've been killing it.

I couldn’t be a bigger fan of Alex, liquid fire flowing through that mans limbs. This has my expectations for the new album sky high, and after the heat WTDMS and TSATS brought, I’m sure we won’t be disappointed 💪

In my opinion. This song exceeds all of WTDMS. I should probably state that WTDMS is not a bad album, what I mean is that whatever music they make, it always gets better.
IMO WtDMS is worse than TSaTS. But WtDMS is not a bad album. It's just one is better than the other. And I'm hooked with this one song. Can't wait for the rest.

Every time I think they couldn't get any better, they do something like this. I swear, Alex Bent joining this band really put the fire back into the writing, they're doing things I never thought possible now. This'll make 3 fantastic albums in a row with no signs of even slowing down, much less stopping. It's a good time to be a Trivium fan.

yea crazy that once Travis Smith left the band started a slow downward spiral then they find a drummer with speed and intensity again and they are back to their sound. Alex is the saving grace here
@@chev2500hd1 Too be fair Matt lost his screaming voice and had to relearn how to do vocals again. Some of their stuff reflected that. Silence in the snow for sure.

@@Bloorgusgoorge Although the older albums between Ascendency and In Waves shaped who they are today, I'm glad they switched and found this new sound. The thrash sound and Metallica vocals weren't for me. I will say though that they did have some bangers on The Crusade and Shogun like Detonation, Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis, Broken One, and Throes of Perdition.

I felt so lucky when we got The Sin and the Sentence. It brought my hope back into modern metal. What the Dead Men Say furthered that way of thinking, and I thought it was going to stop at TSATS, but here we are. I'm sure this is going to be another amazing album. Thank you for making music, fellas. When people talk about albums they can listen to all the way through without skipping.. well, I'm sure this will add to the catalogue.

Brings me back to 2008. Been listening to Trivium since Ember. I appreciate the diversity in their music. They have been a massive influence in my guitar playing and songwriting. Keep Slaying!

I was hooked since Ember too at 13 years old, the early days of my metal addiction :)
I kinda jumped on the Shogun bandwagon around 2009 when they toured with Slipknot. Caught their show in Greenville SC and been a lifer ever since! Seen them 3 times in total and will definitely catch again! Best metal band of the last decade in my opinion!
I like the fact that they're using their old logo (from Ascendancy-Shogun era) may its a referance to their old sound

@@LukeRosdahl I honestly feel people that like Shogun the most are more Prog leaning. It's very different from their other albums that lean into Metalcore much more than Shogun... matter of fact nothing from Shogun is metalcore. It's very much a thrashy prog album. For me TSATS and WTDMS are superior albums, although not by much.
