    Knee down, Valentino gear on.......ride it like you stole it, chap...!! 😄 Fabulous footage, mate. Excellent point proven to all the folk who reckon, if it ain't 1000cc and got your knees round your chin, it's not exciting enough. That looked like a bucket of fun and the Himmy handled it superbly. All that fun and capability for less than 5K new on the road. Nuff said, friend. Thanks for that, mate, didn't expect to see that but loved it. Keep smilin, bloke...

    You sir know how to pick your line through corners. Great footage, subscribed. Recommend highway 93 in Alberta or the road to Hana in Maui. Both are similar in that curves never stop, and the scenery is drop-dead gorgeous. Literally.

      Tell me about it. Caught by an underpowered lump with no brakes that starts scarping the pegs at about 45 degrees and your 'road racer' can't stay ahead of it. LOL! I'd hang my head in shame. Don't get me wrong I like the Himmie, but a canyon carving machine it is not!

      @@hazcat640 I'd maybe disagree. You can ride the wheels off the Himalayan and if you rely on momentum rather than power it'll carry good pace. But a point and squirt rider it probably wouldn't suit so much.

    Americans:- Full race leathers, shades, bike polished to high lustre.
    Brit:- ‘ a well used patina’ on the bike, textiles, and everything bar the kitchen sink attached.
    This is why we are so alike yet different.
    Lovely video Nathan!👍
    I’m tempted ( have had a bullet) by Himalayan but am holding back for the 650 version.

    One of the nice things about being in the States is that there are roads like that everywhere along the Applications, which run for 2600 miles north to south. That means that riding of that quality is in reach of 50% of the population with a half day of travel. I am fortunate enough to live an hours' ride away from these eastern mountains.

    Did you have anything left of your centre stand? Bloody sports bike, constantly getting in the way! Thing is, you nail the throttle and dive underneath them, and they get the hump so the first bit of straight, they squirt it and overtake, only to get in the bloody way on the next corner!

    I’ve wanted to ride the tail of the dragon for quite some time. A Himalayan seems likely an unlikely choice for a bike for this but now that I own a Himalayan I would love to do this on my bike. I love stuffing into sharp corners. I have to ask, what’s dragging? I kinda suspect it’s the center stand. I have not pushed my bike until something drags.

    • @nathanthepostman
      @nathanthepostman  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gerald. It's just the footpegs scraping which with all the luggage on doesn't involve a huge amount of lean. Hope you enjoy the new bike!

      @nathanthepostman  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BikingChap Yes they come in for a little bit of criticism but not from me. They don't last as long as some, but unlike the Mitas/Heidenaus they're also pretty easy to get on and off if or when you get a puncture. They're just a bit pricey to buy so I've used a Continental Escape instead which is very similar and also a bit cheaper.

    • @BikingChap
      @BikingChap 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nathanthepostman perhaps because I don’t do much mileage but I’d always go for something that perform as good as the best and if it’s not that lived so be it. Finding something as good but cheaper is a result though.

    • @nathanthepostman
      @nathanthepostman  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'd not spotted that so thanks for pointing out. It's an unfortunate throw back to a common and casual term of gentle abuse we used as teens in a rather sheltered industrial town which admittedly hasn't aged well, but it's usage was never intended as homophobic although I can see how it could be construed as that. Semantics I know, but no offence intended and I shall leave it in as a note to anyone else who might use out-dated language in the modern age.
