Re the vehicles with the chicken wire fence @ 14:46. It is recommended that visitors protect their vehicle perimeter with a portable chicken wire fence to deter porcupines and other small animals from chewing on rubber brake lines and tires.

As I compile a list of places I would want to see and explore I take notes in a journal and it's nearly as thick as my previous travel volumes. I've had the fortune of traveling around the world as a military dependent, 23 years in the military with 16 overseas and as a contractor in post military jobs. Right now I'm "hiding" in a beautiful spot in Virginia and exploring the local scenery. I'm enjoying our beautiful continent of North America vicariously through you and Chris Shontz of Venture4WD. Thank you for sharing, not only your adventures but your lives as well...beautiful family.
When we arrived at the trailhead we were also confused by the chicken wiring around the tires. We were told that there was a problem with porcupines eating into tires. So figure. Anyway, you should have walked up to lodge which is quite a surprise and it has a great view. It was also puzzling to see huge round storage tanks as we walked up to the lodge. We later understood what all the storage tanks were for. We backpacked up to the ridge that gave a great view of the glaciers and decided to camp. Later in the evening at the other end of the ridge the helicopters start flying up tourists to check out the sunset. So hence the big storage tanks. By the way the backpack up to that ridge is short, perhaps 3 miles or so.
Hiker SanDiego my profile photo happens to be from my days flying the mentioned tourists to the top of the mountain for the sunset. The Bugaboo lodge has a long and respected history of heli hiking and skiing since the 70’s. I have fond memories living and flying out of the many lodges in the Canadian Mountain Heli skiing. Bugs being the first.

I recommend the hike up Conrad Kain Hut. It’s amazing up there close to the glaciers. We did this overnight hike staying in the hut with climbers last year. First time I saw the Milky Way so vividly with my eyes. We had to put chicken fence which is provided by BC Parks to protect brake lines from porcupines and other rodents. The drive to the trailhead is an adventure of itself.
That is an Andersen stabilizer bucket. I bought one this summer to try out and I love it. It seems so much more stable than using the orange blocks. It allows me to not have to put the tongue down so far and creates a more solid base. I would have been much more nervous with those ruts if we still had the 400.

What a life and what a family guys, we in India can only dream of this kind of life, I have become a big fan, have recently came to know about your channel and now along with my father watching each and every episode on your channel, great stuff guys, one day i wish I can live a life like this. A small suggestion for videos, although they are amazing already, if you can show more of your camping sites and the way you guys stay in camps, like cooking, hiking, exploring surrounding etc.... having a family conversation... in short it would be more interesting if we can see more of what you guys do when you camp. thanks ! :)

Every dam time I click on your channel I find myself wanting to buy a used Jeep, mod it out for overlanding and now 20:55 in I want a cup of Joe from black riffle coffee. This has to be one of the best family friendly channels on TH-cam that makes you want to ditch the 9 to 5.
Another great video! The drone going over the waterfall was like a 6 Flags ride!!! LOVED it! Would you please occasionally tell us what the temperature is and elevation of your campsites? It gives us more of a whole picture as to what the fam is experiencing and relays a small detail to complete the video. Fantastic Videography!!

Highly recommend to hike to the Applebee campground and camp there! We were there last week climbing. One of the nicest place I have been ever.
Mostly hear about heli-skiing in the Bugaboos. Nice to see approach by road.
