I love how they didn’t do just a love story about teenagers finding each other but instead it gives a WHOLE PLOT TWIST which hits us HARD

This anime teach me that love is not what u see it's about what u feel ...the feelings when u love someone even u don't recognize him don't know about his exists bt still u love him it's the true love...true love doesn't need any name or relationship satus it's just need a small space of ur heart that always beats for him...

Taki didn't write his name instead he wrote "I love you" because he knows the name will just be nothing when her memory gets erased but confessing his love for her solidifies their connection through space and time. That i love you made Mitsuha continue her mission which is to evacuate people before the comet strikes. When it's just the name written, Mitsuha will forget who's that anyway when the moon eats her memory. Writing I love you has gave her the drive and spirit to continue and do the mission even if the moon is slowly eating her memories and why is she doing this mission. Damn. Damn. Fuck

To add to this, I think they did write each other's names on their cheeks at some point. But just as you said, it just passed by like another day. With "I love you", their bonding with each other stayed so permanent that EIGHT YEARS LATER, they still recognize that they belong together.

Mitusha was lost and felt the sense of longing and missing piece in life for 8 years while Taki's for 5 years. They have forgotten the beautiful moments they have shared together. They have forgotten the series of phenomenons they went through. But one thing's for sure, their connection never fully vanished. It stayed within them. They just don't know what kind of connection and where is that connection. They do not know where to find the missing piece they keep on feeling. For 5 and 8 years of their lives, they have lived a life with longing, missing, broken, puzzle. At the end, the search is over. They finally found one another. They must have really forgotten the moments they shared together before but what's important is the sense of longing has finally stopped when they finally found each other.

One of the details I love about your name is the running animation.
From what I`ve observed, Taki is a really good runner, probably from running around in the city`s rush hours? He has a very straightforward running style, and its very efficient. He`s also good at basketball and cycling so I think he`s in general athletic.
Mitsuha`s running style is really girly. She kinda sways side to side, while running and it looks like she is putting great effort to propel herself forward but she ends up running slow anyway, probably due to the excess swaying. I think its rather cute although probably exhausting .
What I love is how they remember to keep the running animations consistent even when they switch bodies. Watching Taki run like a girly girl was really amusing, especially during the golden hour.
Whoever make all the anime movies! Can they stop playing with our feelings! It's a great ending but I want more! I want more of their moments in the ending😭😭😭

That moment when they were in different trains and looked at each other. Their minds went, "this is a stranger" but their hearts shout, "THE SEARCH IS OVER". They have been in the sense of longing for so many years as they keep on missing amd searching for something ( the good feeling they once felt but cannot remember) and for someone (who's dear to them that no matter what space and time, they will travel to find each other). Sadly, that something and someone has vanished in their memories. But, "The heart remembers what the mind forgets". When they had an eye to eye contact in the train, they immediately knew "the search is over" tho their minds say this person is a stranger. They are not sure because they think he/she is a stranger but they feel the sense of home, love, and connection in each other. Their connection is so strong that it surpassed time and space. They are not sure yet they knew that he/she is the something and someone they are yearning for.

Aside from Studio Ghibli films, this is hands down my favorite anime movie. It’s so heart warming and heart breaking, beautifully written with two compelling main characters. When I tell you I SOBBED in this movie, I bawled. It’s such a beautiful beautiful movie that transcends age and time.

love cannot be explained, it is simply just a feeling, but it’s so good it’s so great it’s so powerful. It’s just that, the way they found each other again even without knowing each other’s name, it’s just, it’s more than fate it’s, musubi. their love and their dreams are intertwined with who they are and you can’t escape that. love is so unexplainable, a billion tears can’t explain it. this is the second time i watched a movie/series and it opened my eyes about love. I. i just it’s so good. it’s fated. there’s love. there’s, LOVE. Nobody may believe this but 3 years ago (yes 3 years ago) i had 8 recurring dreams about the same guy and one of them was when i was in the hospital and he came to visit me and warn me about getting my heart hurt.Last year, i was in the hospital, for the same reason and i was looking, for someone or something. that feeling. It may not be those dreams that Taki and Mitsuha had but i believe it’s saying something about my future. Because one of those dreams did prove me that those dreams were real. If you’re out there, we may have passed by, and i’ll definitely say, if we’ve met before, and if i could know your name. I feel like when we feel like we know someone really well even if it’s just been a few months or you really feel intertwined, connected and mysteriously drawn to a person, you probably know him/her in your past life, and i’ve definitely met some. Somehow all past lives meet up in their next lives, and maybe sometimes, some past lives end up being together in their next lives when their past lives couldn’t in their past lives. Mitsuha and Taki are prime of examples of it, i just they made me believe in fate more. I’m. crying.

Every scene of this movie is a masterpiece 🥺 I literally got goosebumps on most of the scenes especially when it's halflight and Taki and Mitsuha get to meet in person...🥺 This is the most unique love story I have ever seen 😍 and so when Taki found out that Mitsuha died 3 years ago by a comet strike I got goosebumps and nearly cried 😭 and at the end even after forgetting each other's name they managed to meet after 8 years of the itamori incident

When they met at the last my heart go so heavy
I just noticed that when Taki and Mitsuha first met at magic hour on the mountain, that Mitsuha was all over the place with her emotions. I think that whoever wrote that scene wanted Taki to see how Mitsuha was in with all of her various emotions, happy, incredulous, mad, sad, playful and forgiving. He got to see that in such a short time and he loved her for all of that being Mitsuha.
