Totally agree. I don’t know whether this is just a US thing or whether this kind of reaction is normal in other countries like it was here in India, but here in the UK where I am even though it’s clear many people reacted to moments in the film, none of them were as hyper and prevalent like this. It’s rather disappointing honestly as I would love to experience reactions in cinemas like they do perhaps in the US rather than here in the UK. I mean, it is nice when people are quiet in cinema so you can enjoy the movies, but if you don’t perhaps get the same audience reaction that you really want to express outwards in that moment, it can be a little disappointing in a way.

Just because a movie is based on real life events doesn't always mean it's automatically better than a movie that isn't based on real life events. Don't get me wrong, I love Titanic, but I do believe Your Name is more interesting in terms of a love story and the events that bring the two characters together.

Solid fking show and music. I've never feel like this in my life. It's like unlocking new feeling or emotion. Shinkai Next movies are alright it's ok. Typical movie. But kimi no na wa gave me something that I've never knew it exist. And I've watched over 300+ Anime. This one of my favorites and Best Anime movie. It maybe a normies take but I'm gladly take it.
Would love a crowd reaction like this. But everytime I go to the cinema, kids behind me kick my back, people are on their phones the entire time (why you go the a cinema then?), talking loudly, or are literally commenting everything that is happening. (Had a child a row behind me once, when I watched Spirited Away. Even a blind person could have followed the movie, because they commented EVERYTHING.)

Just watched it yesterday. I thought the ending was a bit cliche because of the trope "two lovers undergo a traumatic incident and then forget each other for a period of time until they reunite by coincidence and start anew", but hey it all works out in the end. I very much enjoyed watching this, and I do regret not sitting down and watching it in one sitting. Will definitely rewatch it at some point!
In the scene where the twilight disappears along with Mitsuha and Taki not remembering her name but the audience just screamed in joy like it's amazing and mesmerizing all of a sudden 😂😂😂
Actually i dont know why you guys enjoy watching this kind of movie (makoto’s movie) with this audience. I prefer a calm one where there are no noise so i can hear the ost, and feels the movie better lmao. Well you can scream and shout at the end of the movie, not in the important scene where the beautiful ost is played. Like bro, kimi no nawa got the best ost and you gotta enjoy it. Not screaming like you are on a freaking concert
