Investing in a luxury watch can be an exciting but intricate financial decision. The value of these watches can appreciate over time, making them potential assets. However, maintenance costs and depreciation should be considered.
Absolutely, It's not just about owning a beautiful watch but also understanding the market trends. Consulting a watch investment specialist or a financial advisor with expertise in alternative investments can help navigate the complexities and ensure you make informed decisions.
Absolutely love it!!! I'll have to be financially stable in every sense before purchasing my first Zenith Diver. The best thing to do with your money is to invest rightly because money left saving will end up with no returns
No doubt being financially free and able to afford these luxuries cannot be overemphasized, making smart plans and setting up diversified investment portfolios is quite essential.
I've been consulting with Eric Paul Elmer. He specialize in high-end watches investments and have provided me with valuable insights into market trends, potential appreciation, and even tips on maintenance to preserve the watch value.
I laughed when I saw this posted yesterday - I was heading out to my AD to pick up my Extreme Diver. I'm now wearing my blue Extreme Diver. I think a lot of people get put off by the thickness, but it's not a Tudor slab side thick, the convex shaping of the caseback, the angled chamfer of the case, the ceramic bezel, and the metal bezel breaks up the case thickness. Include the fact that it's titanium, it's very wearable.
@@DanielBoychuk well, maybe. However, these are watches that seem to be the same size, the same utility, and around the same price. I guess one is "High horology" and one isn't but to me it feels like the only differentiator is the name on the watch.
"How many people are actually going to go diving with this watch" is an argument that could easily be made about any luxury diver... Omega Rolex, etc. I think the closest parallel to this would be the Omega PO which wears better and is WAY cheaper.
I like these Zenith divers, glad you singled them out for a good review. The alternative is simply the Planet Ocean, which is also at 600m, also and comes in various sizes as you know, including a very wearable 39.5 which sits superbly on the wrist. I have the Summer Blue version and its awesome. Comparing it to the Offshore is cheeky as the latter is supposedly a high horology watch, although sometimes I do wonder how much more manual work AP put into their movements and cases compared to a lower end brand Zenith.
Feel like a Planet Ocean (Titanium, Ultra Deep, Ceramic, etc.) or TAG Heuer's SuperDiver are probably closer alternatives than the SD4k, but with the uniqueness of the movement and the strap change system, this one's kind of on its own. Very cool watch, and arguably the best release of the year so far.
I love zenith and how they reinterpret they're vintage models, but like a few other watch makers they are losing their way, and just homogenizing to keep pace with others.
I'm surprised the Planet Ocean didn't feature as a viable option when juxtaposed with the Offshore Diver and the Sea Dweller, since the Omega, in my opinion, makes a really good competitor, in terms of price, the presence of a helium valve and, the quintessential water resistance.
I find there to be many similarities with my SeaMaster Planet Ocean 45.5mm. Which is currently sporting a khaki Bark & Jack strap. And I absolutely love it. It's a tank. Wearing it intensely since 2010. It's seen construction, diving, biking, all sorts of banging around and it's just indestructible. And yes, I have a larger wrist, so size doesn't matter. As long as it's big. And relevant to this video: I could see me wearing this Extreme Diver as an alternative. Just hope it's as rock solid.... (I have less than perfect experience with El Primero movements)
The Pelagos comes in blue, has a trick clasp and it’s half the price. The Planet Ocean comes in various colours, sizes and prices. Both just as well finished but you knew that already which is likely why you focused on them integrated bracelet, as if anyone who buys a diver thinks “it must have integrated bracelet”. Stop pandering to conglomerates, Zenith is the top LVMH watch brand and they’ve trying to position it opposite Rolex - not going to happen. Bloody Richemont behaves the same, both are pricing out watch enthusiasts in favour of increased dividends for their shareholders.
Omega Planet Ocean is a good alternative. I’m anOmega fanboy that owns waaay too many Omega pieces so take my opinion for what it’s worth - biased. Lol. love the Zenith though.
I dig the ROO Diver, I just can’t afford it. Remember that new PP watches can actually be used to the rated depth, so that Aquanaut can be used for recreational scuba diving, since PADI Advanced Open Water dive certification is down to 30 meters.
A thinner version with less water resistance will probably come out in the future as the Defy Diver (minus the Extreme)…I’m hoping sooner than later and also in stainless steel please
During W&W you briefly featured the Alpina Seastrong Diver Extreme 39mm. As far as I can find nobody else noticed it and there’s barely a review on TH-cam. For £1500 it looks like a bargain and it’d be great to see a review. Thanks again.
Lovely stuff. If they made a 'Zenith Defy Desk Diver', which would only have 10 ATM water resistance, but be 10mm thick, it would be a deal. As it is, this watch is far too thick in pursuit of a water resistance rating that nobody would ever use.
The Zenith definitely fits a niche but for a highly finished Luxury dive watch maybe the Glashutte Original Panorama Date as an alternative. It doesn't have the same depth rating but has DIN and ISO certs. No integrated bracelet but a fantastic bracelet.
Other alternatives are Omega PO, IWC Aquatimer, GO SeaQ and on a lower end the Longines Ultrachron, Tudor Pelagos (OG version in 42mm) as well as Sinn UX or the EZM lineup.
Hi Adrien , just a question , what happen to" about effing time " I have only just started watching the shows you did with George and that Aussie guy they are great !!! Very entertaining , such a shame you haven't done a show since Xmas
Kryten must really want to pick up those one of the new retro ones next time the Red Dwarf swings by our solar system! The extreme is cool (especially the blue)........ More Captain America 😈 Just too expensive for its fun factor for me. Oris Aquis Pro 4000 might tempt me first.
Love the extreme and like you understand why it is that way not not for me due to size. Even at 42mm making it 2mm thinner and reducing water resistance would have made it a goer. Lovely watch none the less.
The closest to this in terms of styling is an offshore, Linde Werdelin, GP Seahawk or dare I say a Hublot big bang. For a diver at the £10k mark there are loads of choices, ultra deep, seaQ, sea dweller, 50 fathoms, etc Personally I think it’s nice as a ‘holiday watch’ but it’s loud, pricey and thick. A bit like an Essex makeover
Prefer the 37mm but 15.5 thick is ridiculous ! Just reduce the WR a bit and give us something like 13mm. Also I do not think the 37mm bracelet has any micro adjust which could be another issue
I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the amzwatch has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
Finally a Dive Watch which is 'fresh', has it's own character without going cartoonish. It's futu-luxu-tooly.
Investing in a luxury watch can be an exciting but intricate financial decision. The value of these watches can appreciate over time, making them potential assets. However, maintenance costs and depreciation should be considered.

Perhaps i should seek advice from a specialist in luxury car investments. Do you have any recommendations?
I've been consulting with Eric Paul Elmer. He specialize in high-end watches investments and have provided me with valuable insights into market trends, potential appreciation, and even tips on maintenance to preserve the watch value.

Seamaster planet ocean professional has got to be a close contender
I suppose one potential alternative you didn’t mention is the Omega Planet Ocean 6000m?
Good luck getting that. Some Omega dealers have a warped sense of price. No discounts on the Ploprof for sure
@@DanielBoychuk well, maybe. However, these are watches that seem to be the same size, the same utility, and around the same price. I guess one is "High horology" and one isn't but to me it feels like the only differentiator is the name on the watch.
He’s also going for engagement. It was the obvious pick.
Omega Planet Ocean 6000m? 6000m is 6km, sir!
the Omega 6000m is much thicker (15.5mm vs 18.1mm)
Now this is a interesting Watch, more of this Adrian 🔥
Zenith is doing great things! I love that they include the additional straps. More companies should be doing this.
Looks like the Bamford Aquaracer! I’m sure George will be pleased!
On the secondary market, as it's no longer in production, the JLC Master Compressor would be my pick
Yes, that’s really a excellent choice!!
Reminds me a bit of the Doxa SUB200 for the playfulness, and the Marathon Large Diver's models for the boldness.
Planet Ocean is where i'd head given the choice of this style.
"How many people are actually going to go diving with this watch" is an argument that could easily be made about any luxury diver... Omega Rolex, etc. I think the closest parallel to this would be the Omega PO which wears better and is WAY cheaper.
Actually the Patek Aquanaut 5167A is 120 meters water resistant.
Patek has downgraded the water resistance of all their watches to 30 meters. For confirmation, you can visit any retail store or check their website.
Yeah but in the new catalog they dont say that anymore
honestly it just looks perfect on your wrist , and the overall package and price are fair enough
Such a cool watch. Not for me but love that it’s out there and love the look of the strap options.
Okay, that’s a cool watch.
Love how new this is, and the fact you and the gang have jumped on this already. Literally just landed in Australia, and trying the black on Friday!
It is like something Captain America would wear
It looks like the new Super Ocean and a Planet Ocean had a chunky baby.
Baume & Mercier Riviera Azur. Half the price with a great movement
Yes! That’s such a good suggestion. Love that watch.
I’d definitely go for the Omega Planet Ocean
I like these Zenith divers, glad you singled them out for a good review. Very cool watch, and arguably the best release of the year so far.
Oris Aquis with Calibre 400. In-house movement, 5 day power reserve, 10 year warranty, 300 meters WR, and it’s under $4000 retail.
I love zenith and how they reinterpret they're vintage models, but like a few other watch makers they are losing their way, and just homogenizing to keep pace with others.
Linde Werdelin makes great dive watches in the same style and with different material and at different price points.
NATO strap adapters is next level. Well played Zenith.
Kind of the watch equivalent of Skechers shoes, aesthetically speaking
I'm surprised the Planet Ocean didn't feature as a viable option when juxtaposed with the Offshore Diver and the Sea Dweller, since the Omega, in my opinion, makes a really good competitor, in terms of price, the presence of a helium valve and, the quintessential water resistance.
I like the extreme diver, bold and brash, something different
I find there to be many similarities with my SeaMaster Planet Ocean 45.5mm. Which is currently sporting a khaki Bark & Jack strap. And I absolutely love it. It's a tank. Wearing it intensely since 2010. It's seen construction, diving, biking, all sorts of banging around and it's just indestructible. And yes, I have a larger wrist, so size doesn't matter. 37mm x 15.5mm thick. Wow. That's gonna wear well.
One alternative that could meet the high horolog level of this is the blancpain fifty fathoms, but I still prefer this extreme diver.
Any of the colourful Blancpain 50 Fathoms at around the 10-12K STG mark would probably get my vote
When it comes to fine imitation watches, mamacoo delivers. I've bought from them several times, and I've never been let down.
"Fair" at £10k 🤣🤣🤣
The Pelagos comes in blue, has a trick clasp and it’s half the price. The Planet Ocean comes in various colours, sizes and prices. Cheers Adrian, this is gorgeous, I'm starting to save now!!!
Omega Planet Ocean is a good alternative. I’m anOmega fanboy that owns waaay too many Omega pieces so take my opinion for what it’s worth - biased. Lol. love the Zenith though.

Amazing watch...! Cant wait to ty it on wrist!
Beautiful.
Great format. I enjoyed this video quite a bit!
I'm a futurist - I can tell that you will bang it up by every door frame you will encounter 😂
That watch rocks extreme! That's METAL! 🤘🏼
During W&W you briefly featured the Alpina Seastrong Diver Extreme 39mm. As far as I can find nobody else noticed it and there’s barely a review on TH-cam. For £1500 it looks like a bargain and it’d be great to see a review. Thanks again.
Review the Offshore, curious if you hold the same views after spending time with it.
Ah, a Doxa brought to you by Zenith.
Lovely stuff.
If they made a 'Zenith Defy Desk Diver', which would only have 10 ATM water resistance, but be 10mm thick, it would be a deal. As it is, this watch is far too thick in pursuit of a water resistance rating that nobody would ever use.
I love the … Captain America watch
What a stunner! Zenith will one day be in my collection 👍
The Zenith definitely fits a niche but for a highly finished Luxury dive watch maybe the Glashutte Original Panorama Date as an alternative. It doesn't have the same depth rating but has DIN and ISO certs. No integrated bracelet but a fantastic bracelet.

Alpina watches… Alpiner Extreme or Seastrong… fantastic alternative with excellent finishing
I like how funky it looks but I would go for JLC Polaris
Very cool. I'm ok with 15mm on a mega diver. This is definitely that. It's about having and over engineered beast on wrist for the fun of it.
It’s not an integrated bracelet but the Grand Seiko lake suwa is 10 grand and is equally as interesting.
It seems that one of the most obvious alternatives (although not that fun) must be Grand Seiko SBGH255: hi-beat, massive, iso-certified! (IMHO)
Perfect watch
I believe aquanaut is 120m water resistance…but no dive bezel.
I'm not a buyer at this price point but I like it.
Flippen gorgeous watch. Would like to see it next to an Omega Planet Ocean.
Hi Adrien , just a question , what happen to" about effing time " I have only just started watching the shows you did with George and that Aussie guy they are great !!! Very entertaining , such a shame you haven't done a show since Xmas
I have a deposit down on the defy revival
A few steps down but
Baume & Mercier Riviera Diver.
integrated design, wuick release straps, bulky. and the Baumatic movement
Great looking watcges, best of watches and wonders this year, but man the price……
Kryten must really want to pick up those one of the new retro ones next time the Red Dwarf swings by our solar system!
The extreme is cool (especially the blue)........ More Captain America 😈
Just too expensive for its fun factor for me.
Oris Aquis Pro 4000 might tempt me first.
Looks great in the metal - always looked quite busy in photos but actually it’s cracking
😂😂 YT showed a Tommy Hilfiger watch advert before this video 😂😂😂😂😂
Blancpain 50 fathoms as a comp?
Love the extreme and like you understand why it is that way not not for me due to size. Even at 42mm making it 2mm thinner and reducing water resistance would have made it a goer. Lovely watch none the less.
The Patek aquanaut has a water resistance of 120m not 30m. You drop the ball Adrian. Bad boy
This is now debatable as Patek changed their water rating to “30m” true depth..check it out..
I dropped the ball? More like Patek dropped the ball. They even got it wrong on their site.
www.patek.com/en/collection/aquanaut/5167A-001
I would love to see somebody wear that with a suit.
The closest to this in terms of styling is an offshore, Linde Werdelin, GP Seahawk or dare I say a Hublot big bang.
For a diver at the £10k mark there are loads of choices, ultra deep, seaQ, sea dweller, 50 fathoms, etc

good review 😊. nice looking watch…. 41mm would be a nice size…. like my old seamaster
Some would say that this watch to AP is what tudor is to rolex
i do love a Zenith - class
When is ur watch collection video coming Adrian?
Seastrong Diver Extreme from Alpina has some similar vibes, but smaller case and not as good power reserve. Comes in at much lower price.
Adrian, T4YC. Zenith are making some great watches. And I think it looks good on your wrist.
That’s the dogs bojjox. Sadly far too big for me. I’ll stick to my ceramic pilot. So glad I’ve discovered ZENITH.
IWC Aquatimer is a great alternative, but I do like the Zenith.
I get the Color fun watch point
Sea Dweller at 11k is the choice
Perhaps the Grand Seiko SLGA015/SLGA023. A bit thinner, a bit more money, a bit more refined (IMO).
Looks like it came straight out of the bottom of a cereal box. The only depths it’ll ever see.
Fantastic release. Disappointed you did not get a lume shot though.
This was shot at watches and wonders. The lighting was out of my control. Annoyingly.
Maybe an alternative, although with very different styling would be some crazy version of the JLC Master Compressor.
GO SeaQ Pano Date for comparison? Would prefer the GO also.
That’s a great suggestion. And I agree, I’d go with the GO. The bi-metal on the grey strap is amazing.
IWC aquatimers are a more appropriate comparator than the nautilus, which aside from a vaguely aquatic name has no dive features.
Definitely unbiased, both nice!
Tbh I’m thinking the Ulysse nardin is another alternative that offers real haute holoregie watchmaking on a dive watch
Even though not as colorful, IWC Aquatimer and Jaeger LeCoultre Polaris would be contenders?
I like the diver more than the crono off shore
Reminds me of the Formex Reef.
I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the amzwatch has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
I dont have small wrists but i cant wait for this gaudy oversized watch fad to end. It's a beautiful peice otherwsie.
ISO 1430 shock resistance. How does that compare to the Rolex Explorer
Just for the sake of comparison, the Fifty Fathoms is 13mm thick.
