Thank you. I have only enough moto knowledge to be dangerous.

Excellent video! Nice steady camera work, unlike 99% of other swap meet YT content. And your commentary is much appreciated. Thank you for taking us along.

There she is (22:25), the 'famous' Simson AWO Sport, Made in GDR (former (East) German Democratic Republic) due to the Cold War until 1989. :D
I haven't thought that actually one of them made it over the pond to the states.^^ AWOs are very good, reliable bike with a wonderful sound out of that single pounder. They are a kind of minority in the landscape of motorcycles from "behind the wall" because they are one of the few 4 stroke bike availible there while the majority was 2 stroke because of the sheeper/easier production of
the 'blue smoke' ones.^^ The far more better looking version of that AWO, which is called 'Sport', is the AWO 'Touren'. She has more the style of the 40s bikes like the BMWs with their boxy frames
and the single cylinder present in the middle of it. The AWO 'Sport' looks completely different to the AWO 'Touren'. She has a much more modern look out of the mid 50s with much more cover panels
on the frame ect. But both of them have a very nice sound but that's probably the only thing they share. :)
(AWO Touren: A nice model (like a '2' or so) here in Germany goes easy up to 7500 - 8500,-€ ; plus a sidecar on her and you can put a '9' infront. :p

Starting at around 13:10, you say a 49 EL is a knuckle lower end.
ELs (1000cc) and FLs (1200cc) were designators of en 13:19 gine size, NOT head design.
The last knuc was 47, the 1st pan 48. The bike you showed was a 2nd year pan 1000cc.
Also, right after that you show a custom (probably Paughco or D+D) Springer fork and call a girder.
I appreciate your making that long walk and taking a good video but these mistakes are BASIC.

You're right. Until now, I did not know the 1000cc Pan was also deemed an EL. I just jumped on the EL reference. As for springer versus girder, although I know the difference, both have spring suspension the difference being in how they are afixed, so I use the terms loosely. I'll pay more attention to that, Thanks for the corrections.
