I appreciate your commitment to this challenge, but also thank you for being so open regarding your mental health. It's actually really interesting to get this close insight into time blindness.

And some honest representation. All my fave TH-camrs that I`ve enjoyed for years have said now that they have ADHD and I have my final verdict this fall even though I am pretty sure I have ADHD xD. Seeing people being open about their struggles makes me feel more hopeful that life can still go on even when I struggle.

I'm just as time blind if not worse. Working on it every day. It ain't easy with chickens ducks and parrots though as I know you know Alex

Alex, perhaps you can plan your outfit the night before and lay it out so you have everything in one spot. You could still record yourself opening the parcels, it would just make things more streamlined in the morning.

I do that! It really helps me since im time blind and can get super anxious and than paralised.. sometimes i get in a mood and make a backlog of outfits so i can pick one for the day, so i have some flexibility and have some more outfits for a next day

as someone with autism (need for routine) and adhd (time blindness), i do this every night!! as well as packing my purse/backpack and planning the whole next day. it takes me an hour or two, and if i can't figure it out i tend to stay up until i can or have meltdowns, but it's a lot better than it would be without it and helps with my communication with my partner :)

I know that you shared that you've had lifelong struggles with ADHD and OCD + new medications, but I just wanted to share that when my sister was about to get her breast reduction, we learned that some people experience severe depression for up to a year after undergoing anesthesia for surgery. It was something we knew to be on the lookout for with her since we're already prone to it. It might be something worth keeping an eye out on if you end up getting another rhinoplasty revision to see if the flare ups in depression are at all related.

    • @shineonsunfish

I was also thinking this! Sometimes surgeries have unexpected results, especially if they don’t go as planned.

Wow, I didn’t know anaesthesia could cause depression. I went under general anaesthesia to get some teeth taken out as a kid and did not know this was a risk. I didn’t know there was any risks tbh. Luckily it went smoothly and I woke up happy.

A good idea for styling the dress with the stripper heels is to pair the outfit with a similar hot pink bag to the shoes. Since the dress is "neutral" and the shoes are a plain, bright pop of color, if your accessories are a similar shade, it brings the color back to up to the rest of the outfit and balances it out. You are awesome, Alex. Go be your amazing self today.

My husband has had a very similar mental health journey that was brought to the surface by an injury that required surgery. It's very easy for people who've been plain LUCKY to have never had a health crisis to dismiss the way it can affect your mental wellbeing. Proud of you for trying multiple solutions and medications and sticking to it to find what works best for you.

I currently trying to get diagnosed with OCD and ADHD, it took me a long time to accept that I had mental illness let alone figure out the right ones and that they went back to childhood. I've been diagnosed with depression and anxiety but I realised those were likely a result of these conditions. I don't often see people with this combo even though they are relatively common in terms of co-morbidity. So I really appreciate you being so candid about your experiences with it and the medications. Wouldn't wish this on anyone so I'm glad you've finally figured out the right treatment for you!

I am so so happy that you're doing better! I found you via your Archie Q&A Video, stayed for the pretty pastel clothes but now I really feel with your whole personality and wish you the very best! Also I've always wanted to comment (and maybe I did?) to check out BirdTricks and not to pet Archie on the body but I didn't want to be rude lol. So good that you found them! They do travel frequently so they might come so Australia another time soon.

You should try a blonde colored bobby pin. And use that for any shorter strands of hair that dont want to stay in place. Put it in with a downward motion. So that only the loop at the end is visible. And the blonde color will blend with your hair :)

My doctor thinks I might be autistic instead of having ADHD. And trying to get someone to diagnose me as an adult is ridiculously difficult. Maybe that's why my ADHD medication didn't work for me. 🤔

    • @elliebeets5676
      @elliebeets5676 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@lunarcorpse im not a doctor, but i was diagnosed as an adult. It can be difficult depending on your area, and ive found that stimulants make me calm or tired. So instead of getting a sense of euphoria from adhd meds which im told usually happens when people use them recreationally, i just get focused and 'normal'. Sometimes you just have to find the right doctor, and its okay to change doctors if you find that they arent working out for you or you find they arent taking you seriously. 'Shopping' for psychiatrists and even family doctors is okay. Its your health you have a right to have a say and have your concerns and words heard and met with respect and consideration.

Just know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I suffered with OCD my entire life and wasn't formally diagnosed until 33. I thought it was a curse until my daughters and son showed signs. My husband didn't really understand OCD, but I did. I was able to seek help for them. We found out my eldest has ADHD as well from Dad's side. She's now on the right medication and doing so much better. As a mother, I now consider my illness a blessing. It allows me to understand what my children go through each day. As a person, I still struggle with my OCD, anxiety, and depression, but I also know from experience that this too shall pass. ❤️

Hi Alex- I’ve been watching your main channel for awhile now and even tho I’m a 60 year old lady I must say that I like your style! Plus, I have always enjoyed seeing little bits of your life here and there, brings me back to my younger days when things were so much more carefree! I appreciate the insight into your mental health struggle as I too have been hit hard with a recurrence of my anxiety, depression and ocd. The only doctor that I could find for psych meds during the pandemic had me on a revolving door of medicines until I really felt that I had lost my mind! Have a different doctor now and the right medicine and am feeling better. So happy to see some newer content. Please keep being you!

In dealing with my anxiety I set timers when I know I need to be someplace. I will set them in like 30 minutes, 15, minutes, ten minutes five minutes and the final one for when I need to walk out the door. I usually need to do this when I have to take my kids to appointments. It helps them too. I have two kids with ADHD and one on the spectrum. I will shout out when the alarm goes off if they are in another room. I’ve been able to cut the alarms back to 30, 10, and out the door. I also put the alarms to different songs and sounds for each kid. This has helped us get out of the house way more organized and on time. 😃

You should put together a line of all the products you should use everyday: Skin care, hair care, deodorant etc. so that you do everything at once and don't have to run back. I got a special shelf that goes over my sink that I can place everything on so it is right there and I don't forget anything. Its been super helpful with a 7 product skin care regimen 👍🏼 you could probably find a nice shelf/organization method that is more aesthetic. So long as it gets done I say.

It’s chaos now, but you can still make this work. Your friends and yourself lying about time is a good step in the right direction , lol. Also, mirrors can be dry erase boards, so if it helps to have a checklist staring you in the face, then use the mirror as an erasable surface. Not that I have ever done this, oh no, a friend did. Sure.

I am so glad you have found something that is beginning to work and I am hopeful for you. It was sometimes hard to watch you obviously experiencing that internal struggle and not knowing how aware of it you might be. Like going through your neglected plants. That has been me, with the dead plants, and I did not know how poorly I was functioning until months later. The recovery was really hard. It took me years as well. When I had to move back in with my parents because I couldn't take care of myself, my stepdad resurrected one of my grandmother's hoyas that I thought I'd killed (you are quite right, they have a strong will to survive). That was almost 10 years ago. Your video gave me the idea to take cuttings when I moved overseas earlier this year. My clones are thriving. I am cheering for you and hope you will continue to thrive as well.

Also a tip, that helped me a lot with acne break outs, is wash my hands before skincare! Because there's a lot of dirt + hairstyling stuff on your hands! Clean hands and skin before skincare

when applying sunscreen you should imagine something like painting a wall, if you don't have a substantial layer over ALL of your face, every nook and cranny, it's not giving you full protection. also all the skin that's uncovered is exposed to the sun, so your neck, ears, shoulders, arms, hands, etc need a good layer of sunscreen too. there's also spf lip balm :3

You were one of the first people I regularly watched on TH-cam, but I’ll be honest I stopped following about 9 months ago because it really started to feel like I was watching someone who was struggling. So happy to hear you’re getting help, and glad you’re back in this more natural format! Don’t push yourself!

I do love the idea of unboxing a thrifted parcel a day. Even if you bought most of them, it still feels special getting a "gift" everyday. I do have reservations regarding wearing WISH shoes every day. I hope the feet are getting extra pampering. Glad to see Archie being more civilized. I did not know about not "encouraging" a bird in puberty. BTW the startle reaction when Lucy suddenly appeared, is my life experience also (obviously minus Lucy but plus my friends). Annoys some of my relatives and acquaintances, but friends and family who understand it is not personal, do not get upset with me.

actually i think a leopard print with a statement pink is the perfect kind of clashy! it's fashion. also have you ever considered hopping onto the 'barbie pink' trend, or you could recreate barbie outfits for a week, that would be so cute

I would highly recommend hairspray to keep the sleeked back hair look in place or a gel that drys quick and hard. I loove the pink heals with the dress lol it kinds goes in my opinion, maybe some accessories in the same pink as the shoes. also, love those chunky jelly shoes!!

A suggestion that’s really helped me is that I put clocks in places all over my home so that I can always glance at the time. I even have a clock in my shower.

I use that same deodorant! Ahahah I love seeing a fellow lady who prefers men's deodorant. I'm very excited about this particular side quest (the 1 parcel a day for 100 days). But also, I hope everything goes well with the consultation. You're fabulous!

I’m so sorry to hear about the nose problems. You’re doing the right thing by seeing a new doctor.
And thank you so much for showing your skin care routine. Since you posted, I’ve been following it (and doing my neck) because I was never taught how to care for my skin as a young woman. And I’ve noticed my 55 year old neck skin is showing it’s age. And just in the last few days following the same routine with very similar products my neck already looks better.
