Those pants are SO COOL! And VERY 90s! For metal casting, you usually sculpt wax, and then you make a shell out of silica sand and plaster. And you cure that in a kiln, which sets the cast and also melts out the wax (you can also use small pieces of wood and plastic to help your sculpture "breathe", because the kiln will obliterate those too). You have to be extremely meticulous in your planning if you plan on saving the cast. It can take over 80 hours of hands-on work to make one small sculpture like that. Just the casting part itself can take over 24 hours to do all of the dips and let the layers dry properly in between before you fire them. The good thing is that he can now reproduce it for as long as the cast lasts! 💜
Those dragon goblets are amazing, agree that $70 is underselling. Ooh if he does customs, you could have a set of birb Pewter goblets, that'd be cool. An Archie, a Dumpling, a Holly, maybe an aussie magpie and kakapo (or other fave birds of your choice). Please tell Dan that his choice of outfit was very cute and looked comfy-cosy.
