  • This was one challenging day!! If you didn't see Tomichi, go check that out to give you the level of effort already put forth, before we went down Tomichi and made the brilliant yet dumb decision to go up and over Hancock. These 2 passes however are AMAZING for the views!

That climb on Hancock pass is no joke. I did it on a drz400 a few years ago and it was quite difficult. Congrats on taking the t7 up it.

I'm glad we did it the direction we did cause the opposite way looks even worse!

We went thru there last year on the dirt bikes. Some poor soul had his 4-Runner stuck right there at that 2:00 minute mark. He was hanging precariously. (he wasn't there when we first went around) he was winched and strapped down to not roll over. When we came back, they had returned w/ friends, vehicles and a wrecker to get him back. That had to be $$$

Ya, at least with a bike you can bail, I would have shat myself in a vehicle and in that situation, not only for the roll but the cost to get it out!

You should've shown the Tomichi cemetery. One headstone reads "killed by explosion". You also passed right by a mineshaft you can venture into safely.

I cruise through that first rock section at 35 to 40 mph. Lol. KTM 500 EXCF for the win.

We came across some folks on dirt bikes and damn do they make it look easy!

Lose 90% of your gear and get a KTM 350 or 500 (professionally lowered suspension…not dog bones) or a similar bike designed for what you are riding. You will have exponentially more fun riding these type roads in Colorado…just my $.02

I 100% agree with you. The goal this year is to get a plated dirt bike between the 300-450 range and use the T for it's sweet spot.

I’m diggin my XR200 for that stuff,
      Not much over 200 pounds.
      But I’m 175lb.
Gotta admit the highway sucks on it 😀

@@Dastardly_X lol ya we have a KLR 300 guy in the group that enjoys highways, I could imagine. However, you can just go over any mountain probably with little care :D.
