Every DUI should be accompanied with a reckless endangerment charge. In some states it is a felony. Time in jail/prison ranges from 6 months to 7 years. Instead a woman driving under the influence managed to damage my childs brain when she was 3 (19 years old now), and she had to pay higher insurance for a few years. Spent less than 24 hours in jail, and paid a small fine. While my daughter is paying physically, mentally, emotionally for the rest of her life. My daughter also remembers the whole thing, and I think the woman who drove into my daughters bedroom should have had to pay for her therapy, medical care, and the thousand dollars of prescriptions per month. We sued civilly, and won, but insurance paid for it. It took over a year to get my daughter to sleep in a bed again. She stopped speaking for 6 months. She didn't feel safe anywhere and a drunk driver took that from her.
I've worked in law enforcement for over 15 years now, and I remember when getting charged with a felony was a big deal. Now it's like nothing. No wonder crime is on the rise, and people don't care if they get arrested.
Dude if you're on your 4th OVI where I'm at and you are not getting bond (right away anyway) and you are going to be in prison for at least 2-3 years and you can't operate a vehicle for another 5
That’s absolutely fucking wild.. I got a year for one Xanax and one stolen yogurt.. and that was my 2nd offense. My first was obstruction at a house party. Yep, i was totes a big time criminal back in my early 20’s. I had the Xanax bc i was buying them off the street, I have severe anxiety and agoraphobia. If I were taking it to just get high.. that one Xanax would’ve been long gone. I was saving it for the next day. I had no medical insurance and was in college and working at freaking Burger King😑😑. Andddd the yogurt, was because I was freaking starvinggggg. And it was small and cheap. I seriously got a year for that. Did 8 months. P.s- no, I wasn’t drinking and driving or under the influence or anything like that.. I was driving home from work after a long ass day of classes and an 8 hr work shift. That really sucked. Legend has it this guy’s friend is out there, still running away over that fence.
Yeah, he's halfway to Arizona by now.
Another way that this guy is like a little kid: somebody else did it! It's like the kid that plays door-ditch and when caught says, "Hey, some guy just rang your doorbell, he ran that way!"

Exactly.
Its sad, isnt it?
I get the feeling they started throwing felony charges to make sure something stuck and the courts just said "oh we'll drop those too"
They care when they get arrested, they don’t care of the fact it’s a felony and want to avoid responsibility.
It's crazy people are stealing cars, breaking into stores and houses then being released the same day
