Well, he got a $10,000 bond in Wisconsin. Given his recent history it would have been more like $100,000 in Texas. What criminal wouldn't prefer Wisconsin's "catch and release" approach to criminals.
I bet buddy's insurance company is going to hassle him for leaving it unlocked with a spare key inside of it, sucks. Should keep trash like this in jail.
Yeah, he’s screwed, probably still making payments. They’ll most likely tell him he’s at fault, or a large percentage at fault. The deductible is bad enough. Maybe he’ll learn to lock his next truck.
My neighbor left the key to his brand new Mustang under the carpet. It was only 3 weeks old, and the insurance refused to pay. They told them that they would charge them with insurance fraud if they insisted. The kid was in college, and someone knew where he kept the keys. There weren't any other thefts in our area. It is a safe, expensive area, so the insurance concluded that it was an inside job.
I'm not sure why, but people born and raised in Wisconsin have an irrational need to leave vehicles unlocked with spare keys inside, and house doors unlocked. They have a ignorant pride in this. In my experience, when these people are confronted about it after an incident like this, they get very upset and say things like "IVE NEVER NEEDED TO LOCK MY DOOR OR CAR BEFORE!"
Legit, they get so mad and it’s like bro. What harm does it do to take 2 extra seconds to put your keys in your pocket and lock the car. It also provides comfort to know that you have ur own keys and ur car is locked
i don't get it too. i wonder why they don't keep their jewelry and cash right in front of their porch, if they are so proud of their community. add their wives and children should not be wearing clothes and spread their legs all day if they really trust the people around them
Leaves his truck unlocked with a key inside. Your insurance company would like a word about your policy. Seems like the theft coverage has been cancelled on all of your vehicles.
I am not law enforcement, but I gotta say the communication between the two officers, the calm demeanor they exhibit, the concise commands and only one person speaking at any given time very well done!
@athletico7707I understand why they do that, it’s reasonable, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that this specific encounter is hilarious when taken out of context, at least to me lol
I'm only 1/3rd of the way through the vid but I gotta say I am IMPRESSED with these 2 female officers! Clear instructions given, not yelling over each other/giving conflicting commands, stuck to procedure to keep themselves safe, detained the guy and immediately asked each other "you ok?". As soon as they both said "yes", they immediately asked the suspect *by name* (show's a "common decency" level of respect that officers SHOULD show), "Harvey, you ok?" Did their jobs perfectly, but also did it without blasting holes into someone that's frankly too stupid for their own good, and also did it with a level of respect for the general public that a lot of cops think they're above..
@@BUlrich-dw7xiTrump won’t do shit because he genuinely does not care. If he was to make change he would’ve done so already when he was president the first time. Are you even aware of his conviction? 💀

When I wash my truck in my driveway I leave the key in the house until I'm ready to pull into the garage. I don't understand leaving the key in it, either.
Most rural Americans that don’t live in an urban sprawl shit-hole. I haven’t locked my vehicle or house ever. I literally leave my pickup unlocked in my yard while I’m at work in case a friend or neighbor needs to use it for any reason.
I gotta shout out the way the officers gave their commands. Watching many of these videos, I often think many cops are confusing with how they shout over each other & multiple conflicting commands at once. Those first 2 officers were very clear & concise with what they wanted him to do without any bullshit
What a well executed, safe and practiced arrest. RIP to that man's chevy, but afterwards awareness remained at most, if not all, completely applicable, short and straight to the point. Love to see it!
Definitely not a smart move, but it's sad we live in a world where someone with a GPS strapped to their leg feels like they can just take someone's truck.
That is why my fob (older vehicle key) is on a carabiner! It goes on my body along with my pew pew, first thing in the morning. I’ve got kill switches on both vehicles, you never know. Taught our daughters to do the same, husband hasn’t quite caught on after 27+ years so he’s on his own! 😂😂
Yeah asking for it and someone obliged him insurance probably denied his claim and they totaled it and gave him a quarter of what it’s worth I bet he will keep his doors locked from now on
good job by both of them. good communication, stayed calm, clear instructions, didn't get emotional or treat him with disrespect, didn't get unnecessarily violent.
The guy messed up his whole insurance claim when he said he left the Keys in the truck 🤦🏽♂️ insurance company is gonna claim it’s his fault for being careless.
I guess they should not chase him and just call him and be like "okay we found your truck, this is the location, good luck getting it back"? Love how it's always the polices fault for daring to try to catch the criminal, like recovering your property safely should be the first priority. Their job is to catch the guy that did it, it's his fault for not pulling over the way he should have, and they will just say "you should have had insurance". Which you should since most car thieves will just trash it anyway, probably burn it when they are done. So don't leave your keys in the truck if you don't want this to happen.
@@justforever96 As a cop this is spot on. I see those comments a lot "Great now the car is wrecked" Okay but I promise as a cop I'm more concerned getting the guy comitting an active felony crime, tweaking on meth, and putting people's lives in danger than your stolen vehicle. That's what insurance is for. That's what removeable keys and door locks are for. I always tell people "We're gonna look for your stolen vehicle, if we find it and it runs, it's possible it may get damaged, because we will chase it, so hopefully you have insurance" I also state that obviously we hope we get it back undamaged but it's already stolen.. If he never got it back he'd still have to make an insurance claim. The situation doesn't worsen by his truck getting totalled in a pursuit, it just doesn't, unfortunately, get any better either.
What was he even trying to accomplish there?! "Officer, that pipe CAN'T be mine, I don't smoke meth, I shoot it!" They want his money for bond, then he will go back to court and face punishment then. He still will face consequences but he’s able to be bailed out if anyone cares enough to come get him.
Just to be clear, he most likely remained in jail until his case was adjudicated. WI doesn’t have bail bondsman, they have bonds. a signature bond allows release from custody after arraignment, to remain free ON BOND until their case is finished. If the accused is found to violate the terms of their bond (no contact orders, drug/alcohol abstinence/case specific terms like no computer access for paydoughs). If they violate the bond, they’re responsible for the amount set in the bond in full, and possible incarceration. A cash bond is exactly what it sounds like - Hervey would have needed to cough up 10,000 cash. Not credit, not collateral, cash. I would bet the change in my pocket that he did not bond out. He most likely sat in jail and eventually plead out or went to trial - or he’s still in jail pending his case in trial. It’s unconstitutional to indefinitely confine the accused prior to conviction. It’s a core tenet of our justice system - innocent until proven guilty. It’s nearly impossible to adequately participate in your own defense while locked up, and being in jail has been found to cause prejudice in the public eye and jury alike, against the accused. Be grateful we have these protections and rights. The police and the courts already abuse bail by setting prohibitively high amounts to incarcerate people who have no hope of paying it, ever. Without this basic right, innocent people would inevitably be indefinitely confined, unable to participate in their own defense, and unjustly accused, convicted, and imprisoned.
i genuinely cannot think of any reason whatsoever to do this, these people must live in complete ignorance of anything around them whatsoever at anytime
I was HYSTERICAL when I read that caption 🤣🤣🤣 Props to whoever is writing these captions & editing these videos, your hard work is what makes this the absolute best police bodycam channel on TH-cam.
Such a positive member of the community. Everyone is really going to miss hervery down at the crack den. He really seemed like an even headed kind soul. Really respectful and making the best decisions for his future. His positive can do attitude really should help him out in the inside.
For those angry he got a bond, it’s a cash bond meaning MOST bail bondsman won’t accept them and if they do it’s usually because you put significant collateral that would ensure you won’t run. This means that the suspect needs either 10,000 dollars in cash to bond out or a bails bondsman is very confident he won’t run. Bails bondsman don’t just give everyone a bond as they lose money if the person runs. With this suspects records he will probably be very hard pressed to find a bondsman willing to trust him.
It's a shame poor Hervey seems to have forgotten his flux capacitor, otherwise maybe he could have gone back in time to before he was a criminal & made better life choices. 😂😂😂

Hopefully hes got good insurance ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@@moonmikuuuGo find your father
With what he did and violates his probation, he gats a bond? What is wrong with courts.
George Soros
You see that fair skin? That’ll do it
Just to be clear, he most likely remained in jail until his case was adjudicated.
Disconnected from reality judges🙄🙄!
