I actually saw in person the Miura with the registration plate PD319260 here in Italy in 1986 at an vintage car exposition. I still have the book of that event there's a b/w of that car in it. At the time I was all for the countach so seeing a Miura was not all that impressive. I 've never seen a Miura since. What did I know, I was 12.

I’m not a fan of our Government having lots of laws but your experience makes me think of a law that states could have called “deceptive sale” in which someone leads another person on to an item that doesn’t exist, isn’t actually for sale, with the wrong address or its condition is far from what it was originally represented to be.
At a car show here in Minnesota about 30 years ago I talked to a guy I’ll just call Bob who had a muscle car on display. A friend of a friend of Bob located a 60’s muscle car down around Indiana. Bob called long distance and asked lots of questions about it and the seller described the car with intact body panels, no bondo etc and made it sound like a really good car at the right price. Bob and a friend get time off from work a few weeks later, load up a truck and car hauler trailer, cash and supplies. They leave early in the morning in order to arrive there at a reasonable time and start inspecting the car. It has bondo, rust and a bunch of other problems that were far away from what the seller described so Bob passed on buying the car. Bob though did look through a newspaper from that area and found another muscle car not far away from where they were,,, looked at it and bought it and brought it back up to Minnesota.
You guys get excited about a rare old Lamborghini and I’d get excited if I could find a V8 80 or 81 Mustang Cobra that’s not a T-top and isn’t rusted.
Can’t believe this Miura was in my city (Padua) in Italy when it was registered. The plates at that time in Italy stared with the name of the city and the code in Italy for Padua was PD.

You never know. Sometimes the chase ends quickly, sometimes it prolongs for years with constant vetting of a resistant owner unwilling to let go of their prized possession. No matter what the outcome we never stop until all stones are overturned or we get a cease and desist letter in the mail.
Reminds me of the story on the only Miura in Indonesia. Current owner saw it once, then for a few decades tried to convince the owner, and finally succeeded. Wasn’t an SV, but still cool.
