This whole series was the greatest retribution after 2005. Not just the clean sweep but to do it so emphatically. The only other time we have dominated so strongly against England was the tour that Johnson just ripped through them and caused Jonathan Trott to have a psychological retirement.
The Johnson series was more of a walloping than this. England were in some decent positions in 2006 at Adelaide/Perth and later at Sydney but let them slip. Whereas they were never in any of those games in 2013 and by the end of the series were genuinely bollock scared of facing Johnno’s bowling, he would come on and take a wicket straight away. Trott had deep seated mental health issues btw which predated his stress related retirement.
People forget with this series that England was missing Trescothick, Vaughan (the better of the 2 teams captains), and Simon Jones. Not to mention that Flintoff, Giles and Anderson had just returned from 6-12 months injury lay offs. Australia go on about McGrath missing 2 tests in 05 but never mention Englands injuries in 06/07, i wonder why.....

You’re trivialising mental health if you really believe that about Trott
Cricket was better those days. Players playing for glory, not money.
T20 was just about to come along and destroy the game
Kevin Pietersen really was a special talent. Nearly as good, in fact, as he thought he was😂!

Chopping out Warne’s wickets at the MCG including his 700th is very brave.
