Just one of the best "cheap mics" out there right now. Looks incredible, sounds good straight out of capsule and... yes, the RGB. And those clown noses. Just wow.
I use this a lot for my b-roll mic when I want to grab a mic and not even worry about adding processing. So good out of the box. Not a “forever mic” but a great mic to pull out of the tool box for some fun every now and then!!!
Agreed, I used it for a vocal part in a recent song where I couldn't remember my previous mic settings. It blended into the mix well compared to the 500 dollar mic I used for the majority of the song.
I love this mic for how it sounds and what it is. I keep my “good”mics at my studio and the AM8 at home. It’s great for Zoom meetings (the mute button is handy for using instead of hitting the on-screen icon with a mouse and cursor), and sounds good enough for recording voiceovers in a pinch. Just keep it on a stand or boom arm and don’t fiddle with it.
I use this microphone for streaming. It excels at minimizing background noise and, interestingly, it sounds more like a condenser mic than a dynamic one. Regarding condenser microphones, my top choice is the NZXT Capsule Mini, and for dynamic microphones, I prefer the Fifine AM8.
I remember back in the 90s when the Rode NT-1, Oktava 219, AKG c3000, and CAD E-100 came out. Those where game changers, because everything else was thousands of dollars. What's happening now is nuts!
I bought the AM8 and it just did not fit my voice well, but the K699D and the K688 are amazing and fit my voice WAY better as well as the Tonnor TD510. Take away, find the mic that fits your voice no matter the brand name or the price. There are a great many "Budget Mics" that are very good now and will serve well for quit awhile.
Thank you for the video so I was looking for a podcast / recording mic for a long time and I end up with too mics, The "AKG D5" and "SE V7". Which one is better for the male voice, And is there a better mic in the same price range?
I just bought a FiFine 669d and I absolutely love it. I’ve had dozens of mics, all of the popular ones but this is sooooo much better. I absolutely love the sound. I added a shock mount and it’s perfect.
Hello, thank you for all you test I just have a question for dynamic mics Do i have to be very close to the mic or can i be at something like 50cm without problems ? Thanks
This mic has blown me away for the price...i wish it was more robust and i wish there was some kinda shockmount but it sounds incredible without any processing.
Hey, great review! i have asked other youtubers for their recommendation as i need a great quality mic in budget for voice overs and casual singing sometimes, so i asked them pd200x vs am8. and they said am8, but it seems to me as if in pd200x the voice sounds very "nasal" and am8 sounds as if u have congested throat from cold. i dont care about other features like rgb or button, i just wanna know which sounds better and has better noise cancellation?
I have this mic. Among other Fifine mics for budget purposes. The AM8 sounded way better than I expected! The other more recent Fifine mics I purchased sound so good I can’t stop using one I particular. They are definitely a great solution for good sound on a tight budget!
@DarkCornerStudios I'll.let younoff the hook as I'm on holidays in the subtropics and couldn't give a hoot! Happy Canadian Snow Day - thats everyday from an Australian perspective BTW.
Is the headphone jack a mic only output (just from what the mic hears), or can you get the output of the computer through it? That would be cool if you could.
I just picked up one of these today and the headphone jack does work with your outputs. You will have to go to your setting to turn off the playback which the setup manual will walk you through.
I've tried using 2 ea USB mics into a pc desktop with mixed results. sometimes, some programs work, other times not. Haven't traced down exactly why. It helps if you label the mics so you know which is which when you run your app on your laptop. I tried 4 usb mics into an external usb 8port device but never could get it to work. Good Luck.
I have this mic and like he said he's very useful for starting, but the reason im here i'm looking for a new mic. I want something a little more warmer and something that has more of a broadcast sound because I don't show my face so atleast the audio should sound good and I also have a semblance issue with my s's so I need to get better at speaking. Untreated room so i need a dynamic or a condenser with dynamic qualities, looking at sm58, nt1 signature series, at2020, ma-67 for my next step
I have been using this microphone for the last 2 weeks. And I'm glad I bought it. It sounds so good. I have it in white and its so pretty. I use it in XLR mode alongside the Fifine SC3 mixer
I think what they are doing is proving that most other mics are way overpriced. I have to remember that these companies are spending much on product development.
Excellent video again. Not for me - but - I say, if it works and sounds "good" enough for most, these days, does it matter for the masses or those wanting "entry level". If it's hidden from shot, does it really matter? If it works for you - it just works.
Personally, I rather see a company giving instructions to use a free program to add noise gates, than having them create a companion app themselves, that is probably a bit subpar and not the time of effort put in it that it needs to be good. I rather see them spend that money on making the best possible mic for the price point. When I bought my USB record player it had instructions on how to record with audacity, not only it worked perfectly without the company having to invest in writing a program, it also introduced my in a graleat (certainly at that time) free audio program. However maybe people want companion apps because audio routing in windows is horrible. But even then, there are some very usable programs
you sound pretty good to me, got good body sound to it, the range sound good!! now as far as you hitting the table that did pick up a few times!! but for podcasting this would be a good deal!! let's remember Michael Jackson recorded Triller album on the SM7 in 1982, The listeners don't care as long as they can hear what your saying the rest don't matter lol!!!!
Well…those disposable lighters served wonders for a whole generation. So there’s that 😂 not even that…those disposable lighters were more dependable than the new ones 😌

Seen multiple reviews have issues with noise rejection/handling. It's putting me off due to my sim rig noise
Agreed, it barely needs gain compared to any of my other dynamics.
@GapeGang it does pick up a lot but that can be a good thing.
I remember back in the 90s when the Rode NT-1, Oktava 219, AKG c3000, and CAD E-100 came out. Those where game changers, because everything else was thousands of dollars. What's happening now is nuts!
Wait a minute, usb mics existed in the 90's?
??
None of those are usb mics

Regardless of the price point....which do you prefer, this or the Maono pd 200x??
I like the sound of this
Thank you for the video

What filters do you use? Sounds pretty good even with usb connection
For about ~$50 it’s a GREAT sounding mic!
I just bought a FiFine 669d and I absolutely love it. I’ve had dozens of mics, all of the popular ones but this is sooooo much better. I absolutely love the sound. I added a shock mount and it’s perfect.
What do u compare it to sound quality wise?
Hello, thank you for all you test
I just have a question for dynamic mics

Também gostei dele. Se a construção fosse de metal, ele seria quase perfeito. De qualquer forma, o resultado do áudio é muito bom.
Does the xlr cable provide power for usb or do you need usb c and xlr for rgb if i want to use xlr
O RGB só funciona com o cabo USB.
Would this be your recommendation for a broadcast style dynamic xlr mic around this price point?
O k688 e o AM8 são boas opções nessa faixa de preço.
Can you plug in both the XLR for the better audio and the USB to get the lights at the same time?

I’m disappointed that you turned off the RGB lighting part way thru the video as it means you are not accessing 50% of the value.
Well...you see...it doesn't work on xlr...soooooo
@@DarkCornerStudiosSurely phantom power was designed for RGB lighting - shhhelz what was Ffine thinking!!
@andrewc965 that's actually a fun point...I should have tested that
@DarkCornerStudios I'll.let younoff the hook as I'm on holidays in the subtropics and couldn't give a hoot! Happy Canadian Snow Day - thats everyday from an Australian perspective BTW.
@@DarkCornerStudios So does it work on usb only? Im ordering this mic and refunding the tank3 after seeing your comparison 😂
Not sure if I'm the only one hearing it but this mic makes your voice sound little robotic, almost digital instead of having a smoother sound to it
i hear it too
New TH-camr here. I just purchased this mic yesterday and I am very happy with it for the price. I'm excited to use it in my next episode.

Hello sir could we use 02 of mics with USB connection to one laptop for podcasting with audacity or osb ?

It sounds fantastic. If a 15 million subscriber TH-camr switched to this, they wouldn't lose any followers
Who's that 15m subscriber?

is the am8 better than the hyperx solocast?

Well said. Great video as usual.

tengo un fifine k669b y llevo 4 años ocupandolo sin problemas
Excellent video again.

This is a good starter for some 14 year old gamer...lol
@@DarkCornerStudios Couldn't agree more.
Great video as always! What's the move? Podmic usb or vocaster one + podmic / other xlr? Can't make up my mind 😅
Glad to see this one!
6:07 idk man lupe fiasco recorded a whole album wih a budget mic and garageband

to be honist i like this microphone your using over your other mic lol .
The mic is really good I just wished it got rid of the big gain knobs
Yeah...they aren't all that good anyways

Poderia dar mais detalhes? O que você não gostou nele?
well there you have it a new category for those "adult" sites, clown noise ASMR
I WILL BE THE FIRST!!
Ah.... pleasantly disappointing, if there is such a thing.
