  • There are over 1,000 Pokemon currently in existence, but there are even more "lost" Pokemon beyond that. Over the years, rumors and speculation have resulted in supposed Pokemon that many believed were going to be the real thing, only for them to be just the opposite. These are the stories of 7 LOST Pokemon who never became the real thing!

    Another Pokemon that could be considered unreleased is a potential regional form of Corphish/Crawdaunt, since their Dex entries state they came from a faraway, unnamed region. Kinda hoping it gets that in Kitakami, but that feels unlikely.

    The Magnemite in her hair are literally alive tho, it basically is a regional variant we just don’t have access to. Magnemite line did already get preferential treatment with a new evolution awhile back, and then Sandy Shocks this gen.

    • @nihilriv3r
      @nihilriv3r ปีที่แล้ว +18

      They are not alive, Iono says “Nope, these things on my head are fancy-schmancy hair clips! Cute, right?”. This can be found in the "Guess Iono's Partner Pokemon" promotion on the Official Pokemon TH-cam channel.

      Pokémon Snap and Mystery Dungeon both have two magnemite together constitute a failed evolution. A regional variant of Magneton with just two more powerful Magnemite is not only completely plausible, but it's probably what Iono's hair accessories should have been.
      I think it is a shame they went with Sandy Shocks instead of Paldean Magnemite, but that's just me I guess.

    Hoops! There is a Magikarp-like pokemon scraped from SV that was replaced with Toedscool & Toedscruel. This is known because their internal names are different in the code and lineup for convergent Magikarp instead of convergent Tentacool like we got.

    • @nickynegron3515
      @nickynegron3515 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It was obviously last minute to change the Magikarp convergents to the Toedscool line not only by their codenames but because of the existence of regular Diglett in addition to Wiglett while Tentacool did not. My personal opinion is that GF themselves didn't like the final designs for them for S/V and changed it to another Pokémon that fit better in general. Especially for a supposedly land-based Magikarp line doesn't translate as easily as Toedscool and Wiglett do in regards to the definition of convergent evolution

    • @DarkestVoid
      @DarkestVoid ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nickdentoom1173that’s not how that works lmao. They dropped them in favor of Toedscool and Toedscruel. They could be saved for DLC or have redesigns for a later date. They’re two of the most popular Pokémon and it’s likely GameFreak will do this for them at some point. It’s practically inevitable.

    We shouldn't forget Pokemon isn't an English game originally and things can be mistranslated or misinterpreted.
    The "Dusk" Form, for example, only exist in English. In the original Japanese it's the "Twilight" Form, so basically both dusk and dawn together.
    Hence, the "Dawn" Form already exists :)
    Anyways, I'm looking forward to the SV DLC!

  • @nickdentoom1173
    @nickdentoom1173 ปีที่แล้ว +27

    They can easily make a regional form for Rockruff, where they keep the Midday and Midnight forms the same, but kill Dusk Lycanroc in favor of Dawn Lycanroc because of geographical difference (Like for example an Australian region is on the Southern Hemishpere, while the other games are on the Northern, so they can make it make sense lore wise as well).

    The Snover "variant" is an amusing idea, and the fan art nice. Though realistically a snowcone would fit Vanillite and its line more. Make it Ice/Fairy probably, yeah. But hey, I'd be okay with a Snover variant too.
    A Magikarp variant of any sort feels so obvious, but it's probably because they'd have to either make a corresponding Gyarados variant(not arguing that either), or a brand new evolution that would have to fit the same drastic change theme as it going to Gyarados. Game Freak probably just doesn't want to deal with that cause it's one of those pokemon that people would likely take special umbrage with if not done just right. But it'd still be fun, like the rumored giant Magikarp from Gen 6 I think. Or maybe they just figure it's better to use any ideas on crafting new fish pokemon cause they like doing that as well.

    Actually I would not say that any of these are Pokemon that are lost for good... why might you ask? Because we got a Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet that we saw back in Gen 5!! Some of those reading this comment might already know where I'm going with this, but let me explain it for those who don't...
    In Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, you are able to access something called Pokestar Studios. Pokestar Studios was a place where you could be in movies that would be released to the public in the Pokemon world featuring the main star: YOU!!!! When you would star in these movies, you would have an opponent which would act in like a Pokemon, but was never considered to be an ACTUAL Pokemon for whatever weird reason. Some of these opponents you would battle were literally actual humans (which I can see why they were never considered to be Pokemon LOL) but there were some opponents that looked like already-existing Pokemon that we all know and love! One of these opponents that looked like another Pokemon was the MT, which I assume stands for "Mecha-Tyranitar" due to the fact it is literally a robot Tyranitar! *(I never actually play the B2W2 games, so some I kinda have to make assumptions for some of this stuff... but I have Bulbapedia to tell me about these opponents and giving me the info I need to know what I'm talking about even tho I never fought them. So I don't wanna see anyone calling me some kind of idiot because I got one tiny detail wrong! I have had plenty people do stuff like that in the past, more times then I'd like to admit, so I don't wanna hear any of it!!)*
    The Mecha-Tyranitar is of course never added to the Pokedex and I guess is therefore not considered a real Pokemon in the world of Pokemon, despite the fact that we have plenty of "man-made" Pokemon that are in the Pokedex and are considered to be "Pokemon", some of which are also literally robots just like Mecha-Tyranitar!
    Now some of you guys might be wondering "Angry Chicken Man, what does this Mecha-Tyranitar from the Pokestar Studios in the B2W2 games have *ANYTHING* to do with any of the Pokemon added in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet??" Well if you are a Pokemon Violet player, or if you have already heard of and/or actually seen and maybe even battled against the Pokemon I am about to bring up, then you probably aren't even asking this question because you already know the answer to that question... it's Iron Thorns!!!! Iron Thorns is one of the Paradox Pokemon and is version exclusive to Pokemon Violet and thus, cannot be acquired in Scarlet without Trading or transferring it over via Pokemon Home. All Paradox Pokemon are in some way alternate form of other already-existing pokemon, with the Scarlet Paradoxes being more feral forms of known Pokemon that are from the past and the Violet Paradoxes being all robotic forms of known Pokemon that are from the future. Iron Thorns is no exception as it is essentially a Robot Tyranitar, or should I say.... a Mecha-Tyranitar!! **dun dun DUUUUN!!!!!!!!!!**
    Also before someone uses it as a way to say I am wrong and to call me an idiot... YES, I am aware that Iron Thorns *IS* a "Paradox" Pokemon, and Paradox Pokemon are believed to not ACTUALLY exist due to the fact that they are *Paradox* Pokemon in the first place... but I would like to remind you that this is something that has been speculated by the community and that the Developers over at Gamefreak have not yet confirmed or denied the validity of this theory, so while it is widely believed that the Paradox Pokemon are not actually REAL Pokemon despite being added to the Pokedex... it is still possible that they are in fact REAL Pokemon and not "Paradoxes" like the name implies them to be.
    So know that I connected the MT from B2W2's Pokestar Studios to Iron Thorns in Pokemon Violet, let's talk about the thing I said at the very start of this comment... about why "I would not say that any of these are Pokemon that are lost for good." As it is already widely known, many existing Pokemon have been hinted at in games that came before the game that said Pokemon is introduced in, such as G-max Toxtricity being shown in a poster in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon, which came before Pokemon Sword and Sheild came out! Considering that we first saw MT back in Gen 5 and did not get an official Pokemon related to it (other then the already-existing Tyranitar) until Gen 9, four entire generations after the "hint" for it, I think it is safe to say that ANY potential hint from ANY past-gen Pokemon games still has potential to become a real Pokemon at some point in the future! If it doesn't happen in the upcoming DLC or in Gen 10, then it can still happen in future Pokemon generations like Gen 11, 12 or maybe even all the way to Gen 15 or 20! Considering how successful Pokemon is as a franchise, I don't think they plan to ever stop making new generations ever few years, and every future gen is another chance that these "lost" Pokemon become reality!
    If you read this entire comment, then I hope you found my thoughts interesting! if you enjoyed then feel free to check out some more of my thoughts on what I think would be really cool regional variant that Pokemon could create from one of the Gen 5 opponents which will be in the replies of this comment! Now I would like to say that what I said is still speculation, meaning it while might actually happen, it might also NOT happen. After all, it's just a theory...... A GAME THEORY!!!!!!! Thanks for reading! 😀

      Something else that I think would be really interesting and really cool is a potential regional variant of Wurmple or maybe even a Convergent Pokemon related to Wurmple and my inspiration for the idea is another one of the Pokestar opponents!
      Like I already said in my theory above, there were some opponents in Pokestar Studios that looked like already-existing Pokemon, and there are two of them (four if you also count the black colored variant of MT and the second encounter with the opponent that I am gonna talk about now) in total. The first one is the most obvious opponent to connect to another Pokemon and that is Mecha-Tyranitar, who we already covered in my above theory. The *other* one is the UFO, which as someone who did not start playing Pokemon games until Gen 8, a game that did not include it or any of it's evolutions, I never realized that the Pokestar's UFO closely resembles Wurple's second stage evolutions, Silcoon and Cascoon because I never knew these Pokemon even existed until I played Legends Arceus.
      For those who dont know what Wurmple is, he's a cute little Bug type caterpillar Pokemon that will either evolve into Silcoon or Cascoon at level 7, which one it evolves into is random based on it's personality value (according to Bulbapedia) and evolves again at level 10 into Beautifly if it is a Silcoon, or into Dustox if it is a Cascoon. Both Silcoon and Cascoon look extremely similar, Silcoon being a white cocoon and Cascoon being a VERY light purple, so someone who wouldn't notice the difference right away or someone who is colorblind could make the mistake of thinking they are the same Pokemon when they are actually two completely separate evolution lines.
      My Ideal for a potential new regional form is to give Wurmple a THIRD evolution line! One that will be more clear and different from the other two middle stage evolutions of Wurmple, but would not evolve at level 10 like the other two do. This new middle stage evolution will evolve into a very powerful Pokemon at level 32 instead of level 10 because of how powerful it will become! Of course since it will be a powerhouse of a Pokemon, in order to even set your Wurmple onto this evolution path, you will have to give it a Metal Coat before it evolve at level, otherwise you'll just end up with either a Silcoon or Cascoon and not the new evolution... but if it evolves while holding a Metal Coat then it will eventually become hovering metal BEHEMOTH of a Pokemon that will closely resemble Pokestar's UFO but will be somewhat different and won't look EXACTLY like it, just as Iron Thorns isn't an EXACT copy of Pokestar's Mecha-Tyranitar, but still share similarities to each other.
      I am not going to come up with the names for this new Pokemon evolution line because it is almost 11 PM as I am typing this and my brain is slowing falling asleep. HOWEVER If you all want to name them or maybe even draw your own designs of these potential Pokemon, please feel free to share it! I'd love to hear it and even see some designs if I might've somehow sparked something in the brain of an artist! I do not mind if someone decides to steal this idea for some fakemon, all I ask is please share it in these replies so I can see it, as well as everyone else reading this! And with that, I'm off to bed as it is literally 10:49 PM as I am finishing this up, so good night everyone! I would love to see what people think of my idea either when I wake up or at some point in the future. but for now.... I'm going to bed 🥱

    Lycanroc forms- If dusk form is possible, then dawn form would be possible. And solar eclipse. And lunar eclipse. (The Necrozma arc occured during a solar eclipse.) And in a future arctic region, midnight sun and midday moon (see white nights in Russia, St. Petersburg especially). Yeah, I've thought about them. Maybe when they do remakes? Let's Go Alolan Vulpix?

    Actually, we technically have "Dawn form" Lycanroc. You see, the Japanese word they use for "Dusk form" Lycanroc actually translates to "twilight". Twilight is the period of time in which day and night are in transition, but not dusk specifically. Twilight is both dusk, and dawn. In English speaking countries, we mostly think of dusk when we hear "twilight", and so the translation is for simply "dusk". But if it was truly only dusk, why can Lycanroc evolve into "Dusk form" in the light of dawn as well?

    I wouldn't think Dawn Lycanroc was even a thing to begin with.
    In Japan, the Dusk Form was called "Tasogare no Sugata", which means "Twilight Form". And the word "twilight" can mean both dusk and dawn. So in correction, I do think the Dusk Form was originally called Twilight Form, but changed to Dusk instead due to this theoretical reasons...
    I think the English translator didn't understand what "twilight" actually meant, and probably chose dusk instead because of its color; Dusk is mostly colored orange, while dawn might've light purple or so. Or maybe the translator mistaken twilight to be some horror-related something like Twilight Syndrome, or those modern era young (and generically boring) vampire boys who pretty much ripped off Marvel Comic's Blade.
    Whatever the reason was, the name dusk has been decided by the English developers, which I actually preferred twilight instead since it sounds more cooler.

    • @ZeldaboyOG
      @ZeldaboyOG ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RoyArkon Not sure which you meant so here goes.
      As to why they made a more convenient way to evolve Magneton is because Magneton and Nosepass are location based evolutions starting with Mt. Stark I believe. So in every subsequent game they had to remember to put in a new location specifically meant for evolving those Pokemon. So that's why Pokemon like Magnezone, Leafeon, and Glaceon all got to become stone evolutions.
      As to why they decided to exclude just Nosepass I have no idea. Maybe it was because it's less popular and therefore it is less likely they include it in a new game.

    • @RoyArkon
      @RoyArkon ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ZeldaboyOG I was talking about Probopass, and I still don't get your point. The location-based evolution thing is understandable, they couldn't keep it by adding a new location for them every single gen. And also, Probopass isn't excluded, because it also got the extra evolution method via Thunder Stone just like Magneton did. So what's your point then?

    What we were actually robbed of in Gen 9 was that fabled Evolution of Tauros that never happened. Paldea was the place...so maybe we will get one in the DLC's or in Pokemon Scarlet 2 and Violet 2 coming next year? Make it a Minotauros and is closer to a Minotaur....
    Okay we might have to wait until Gen 12ish in Italy/Greece because 12 will be used to match the # of The Olympian Gods. Gen 10 is Australia and Gen 11 could very well be either India or back to Kanto but I suspect The Pokemon Company may break the standard formula soon to change it up. Pokemon Paradox: Unova is likely the next The Legends Game and History will be altered because of S/V's Time Machine. I could see PP:U or Kyurem but Unova sounds better, getting released around January of 2025 with Black 3 and White 3 dropping November 18th, 2025 at the latest. I do feel 2024 will focus solely on Scarlet 2 and Violet 2 because BDSP just dropped like not even two years ago and they would never do a nother remake only 3 years after the last one.

    Pokemon fans have ALWAYS been very over-analytical of everything, to the point where they think any Pokemon that's clearly just a mascot for an in-universe brand is somehow a regional variant of that mon. It's like the old "Predict what this silhouette is" trend of the older days of the franchise, just not nearly as prevalent as it once was.

    I like to think some of those "lost pokemon" do exist in universe, the reason you can't catch them is because they're domestic breeds of pokemons that aren't made for fighting, hence why you can't see them in the wild and why they aren't used in battle even if you can see them (in the case of Iono's magnemites which clearly are living beings).
