Spotted lanternfly collector, 9, honored by Yale

Bobbi Wilson is fascinated by bugs, but last year the 9-year-old's mission to catch spotted lanternflies made national headlines, when a neighbor spotted her spraying for bugs and called 911. Correspondent Bradley Blackburn reports on how Wilson was invited to the Peabody Museum of Natural History at Yale University, where the first spotted lanternfly specimens - insects gathered by Wilson herself - were added to its collection.

Way to go, Bobbi! Eliminating invasive pests is a hobby (and a passion) of mine, mostly noxious weeds, rats and insects like brown stink bugs or birch sawfly larva (which I can't stand).

Happy for Bobbi and her family. And for those who have made snide remarks here about Africa and blacks, please remember that Sapiens originated in Africa and were dark-skinned enough to survive the tropical sun. But then you probably do not accept the theory of evolution and adaptation either. After all, like Bobbi, Darwin also studied bugs among other things.
