I really like that the bumper is up high and the tire carrier is sturdy and does not rattle, although I did have to add a little to the rubber bumper to get it nice and tight.
@@StarkReality My stock tire rides on it perfectly right now, I just ordered 33's and will replace the spare with a 33 as well so I will need to mod the mount and the 3rd brake light to work with the larger tire.

Having driven for a while now with the 33's you can definitely tell it needs a gear change. You can drive it just fine but it will really benefit from some higher gears.
I have a 4.11 gear ratio right now with my 31s and I dont do to much heavy wheeling just some stuff at the hunting club like going over logs and some times slightly thick mud do you still think I should look into a gear change. My 90 yj is my daily driver for me to school and to work and that’s about it. What do you suggest?
With 31's you are fine with the 4.11 gearing. I ran it that way for years and did a lot of wheeling. I just could tell a difference when I went to 33's. @@ultimatesurvival3671

@@heisenberg-c Traditionally 4:88 is the highest you could go in a Dana 30, that was the limit. I have heard there is a company with 5:12 now for a Dana 30 so I am thinking of going that route.
StarkReality so for my YJ I have 31”x 10.5” and I wanna do 33” by 12, am I gonna want to go with the 4” lift kit with 3/4 shackles I have instead of the 2.5” lift? I currently have no lift but my suspension is 30 years old and needs to be replaced
The increase in stance will help in stability on the road
31's are big enough for jeeps

This is what I like a tucked fitment not a super wide tire looks dumb when you have a 31 12.50 or a 33 13.50 or something it just doenst look right

how is the yj in 2022. Would you recommend one as a first jeep?
They are getting pretty old so if you find a low mileage one in good shape it is great but it will need a lot of attention just because of the age.

2.5L 5 speed?
is this stock height or lift ? like different shackles? I'm planning doing same 33x10.5 15s
My Yj has. 2.5 in suspension lift, 1 inch body lift and a 1inch shackle lift. The 33 still rub in the rear at full stuff just barely.
