- We had our first ever proper trip to Spain´s capital city- Madrid.
We left Alicante on the Renfe high speed train, staying close to Puerta del Sol in Madrid.
(Booked through here : www.booking.co... )
We explored this historic Spanish City on foot.
We tried local foods, ate in some fantastic bars and restaurants- some over several hundred years old!- visited the Cathedral and several Churches, and the Royal Palace of Madrid.
The Palace and Cathedral was a guided tour: we did that with a tour from Get Your Guide: gyg.me/CqflP3Vc
We also tried a Spanish "delicacy"- Oreja - Pigs ear......
Join us as we explore the city- including parks and lots of food! (Quite possibly the best Tortilla/ Spanish omelette we have EVER had)
Search through all of our back catalogue!

Thanks for watching 👍
I’ve enjoyed watching this, good work! I’ve been living in Madrid these last 6 years and you’ve shown me some places I’ve never gone to (Teatro Albéniz, Parroquia de la Santa Cruz or that amazing corner next to that really old inn you talked about). Thank you
Thanks for watching and the comment 👍 some stuff we find completely by accident while exploring 😀
Beautifully done video and the food looked delish.
Thanks - and thanks for watching 👍
Great video guys. 👍 We really enjoyed it & Madrid is now on our to visit list 😂
Hi guys? Thanks! See you soon!
Brilliant Vlog, have spent much time in Madrid - many years back. Lovely gift from Bob ! Thanks for sharing 😃 Hi Bob 😎
Thanks for watching 👍
Thanks for taking us to Madrid guys 😊😊😊
Thanks for watching 👍
Great sharing
Thanks!
Fantastic as always, well done guys
Glad you enjoyed it thanks for watching 👍
Plenty to see in madrid looks interesting. Were the train tickets expensive and the accommodation 😀
Hi Julie. We got the train in Alicante and it cost just over 60€ each return. The hotel was in the most amazing location, central and cost 278€ for 2 nights. If you look in the description we have the link for the same hotel.
@@britslivinginspain Thankyou for that information 😀
Another great adventure. Madrid is a favourite city of ours. Had we have known you were visiting Casa Toni, I would have rustled up a popular meal for you just like the delicious looking oxtail, but in reality I would have probably made a pigs ear out of it.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 thanks for watching 👍 see you soon
Royal Palace of Madrid is yhe largest Royal Palce of Europe with 135.000 m2 build and 3.418 rooms in the interior has a thousands of great paintings ; countless value objects the largest collection of Stradivarius of the world "Stradivarius Palatinos" gift of Antoni Stradivari to Spanish King in this time amd the best Royal Armory of the world ;good video
Thanks for the info, feedback and for watching 👍👍
The AVE in Spain is easily the best way to see the major cities.
Thanks for watching and the comment. There's several different train companies now so you have a choice- and they're frequent and fast 👍
@@britslivinginspain Yeah, multiple companies are now operating, not just RENFE, prices have really gone down this last year or so.
I have lived and worked in Madrid for 30 years now 👍. Like yourselves I have travelled all over (mainly north and central Spain and Portugal, not really a big fan of the south TBH). It's really good to see other Brits who have _bothered_ to learn Spanish 👍 Keep giving us your great videos - very enjoyable to watch 🙏
Thanks so much! The country is sooo big there's always somewhere new to explore. Next trip for us exploring proper won't be for a while, but we're heading north and inland next time 👍
@britslivinginspain Picos de Europa, Cantabria and Asturias (inland) highly recommended 👍 I'll be venturing up to Huesca, Andorra and Lleida this summer, really good grub up there 😃🍖
Think we want to try Zaragoza, Toledo, Segovia and possibly Salamanca. We've done Vitoria-Gasteiz and Santiago de Compostela previously by plane
Brilliant to see Madrid. Pigs Ears !! , not for me either ! x
Pigs ears: 🤮. 😅
Your gastronomy culture in your countries can be writen in an empty paper
We're not disputing that! That's why we love the food variations in Spain so much 😋
Great show guys see you soon 😂
Thanks for watching- see you soon...👍 🔑 🏠
Gracias.
Great video guys. We really enjoyed it & Madrid is now on our to visit list 😂
Thanks for watching 👍
