You have turned into an amazing ambassador of Madrid's food culture. It was heartwarming to see you speaking about history and getting into conversation with the owners in perfect accent and expressions. As a madrileño, I am honoured to have a guy like you showcasing our food culture! Much love to you and yours James!
I like the French food. I was in Paris and Strasbourg. I would like to visit Normandy, and Brittany, and the other areas of France for the food. I also, very much want to try the Spanish food. I never have been to Spain. I have tried Jamon Iberico, and I have made for myself a tortilla, but never have I had other Spanish food. I ordered more Spanish ham, and some Spanish chorizo, but I want to try the food in Spain, maybe next year.
Madrid is my fave city on earth. I go back every single year from Melbourne, Australia. The culture, shopping, architecture, weather, incredible high speed trains and underground metro, shopping that's open till 10 pm every day of the week and day trips are amazing. The food is to die for.

Alexander is such a good eater! Absolutely love seeing your family together 🥰 The tapas culture in Madrid is unmatched…too many yummy nibbles to count 🇪🇸😋
Thanks for a tour of Madrid food and drink. I’ve travelled the south of Spain and loved it. Tapas and pastries were fabulous. I’d also give the snails a wide berth. Perfect ❤❤❤
I watch Spain Revealed with James and Yoli all the time, thinking they are the best, and if I remember correctly, James has a food tour business called Devour Tours. Great fun, thanks for taking us along. So happy you had James as your guide!👍❤️🥘🍖
Que sorpresa!, muy buena!! As others have said- what a very nice surprise- two of my favourite long term followed TH-camrs - i didn’t see that coming. As a 3-4 times a year frequent Spain traveller,Madrid is by far the best imo for tapas with unrivalled variety,, great value and even free tapas in some of the local bars. Lavapiés in Madrid is great (although a bit hilly in places) - again thanks for that tip a fair while back James and Yoli. Las gambas en esa restaurante son increíbles!! And the sweet breads are definitely recommended if feeling adventurous
Madrid's def on the list and now, James' vids will be on my watchlist for that! Something about these places being called "Casa..." Something makes you feel like you're just being given a homecooked meal with love 💕
Not really. He is a man who has made his passion his way of life, which is phenomenal for him, but that's all. There is a long tradition of food enthusiasts in Spain. Institutions like the _Real Academia de Gastronomía_ (Royal Academy of Gastronomy) or the _Cofradía de la buena mesa_ (Brotherhood of Good Eating) have, for many years, brought together people very knowledgeable in Spanish gastronomy, people who write books and recipe collections on all these subjects.
That’s so true! I don’t like eating olives, at all. But I had olives in Madrid and I actually didn’t mind them, my wife loved them and wished we could find olives like those back home in the States.
Congratulations, you've made it to Madrid collaborating with one of my favorite Spain food vloggers James Blick. We just came back from Madrid and Valencia and used James' TH-cam vlogs extensively. When you get back to NYC, try El Born taperia in Greenpoint.
Best food tour is in San Sebastian. I have done the Madrid one as well and frankly speaking, there is a reason why the Basque side is the food capital of the world
says who? there's 3 restaurants in the top 4 best restaurants in the world that are from Spain. #1 is in Barcelona, #2 is in Basque country and #4 is in Madrid. Also, the place with the most michelin stars per squared meter is not even in any of those, it's in a place in Alicante called Denia. Basque cuisine is amazing and certainly amongst the best in the world but you're dismissing the rest of Spain with yoru claims. also "food tours" there are many of them and most of them are tourists traps anyway
In Sevilla right now. I’ll check some of these tapas bars you mention. I’ll let you know my opinion later. Will be I Vaduz and next week in Madrid! I’ll check all your suggestions for each place!👍
Great video. Just a thing tourist seems to miss understand: caña is the size of the beer, not the beer itself. A caña is an small size beer between 200ml - 250ml and a Doble is like a Tercio between 300ml - 350ml and then you have a Jarra or Pinta 500ml
Hi I will be visiting Spain in late November 24. Your videos gave me lots and lots of guidance. Thankyou for that. Do you also do guided tours in Madrid. Please let me know Thankyou
That lamb intestine dish reminds me of Turkish kokoreċ where the lamb is wrapped in intestine and cooked over a spit. I was born in this magnificent city of Madrid back when we had a base there at Torrejón and after 30 years this January I’m coming back and taking my Southern wife to experience it. I’m glad Amadeo is still doing his thing. I was looking at either El Charoles or La Bola for Cocido Madrileño since it’s gonna be cold in January. Where else would you recommend for cocido Madrileño James/Yoli?
One vermouth...you grin a lot. Two vermouths...you make poor choices, like a third vermouth Three vermouths...a nap (wherever you mistakenly sit down) I love snails! I prefer garlic butter sauce, but that sauce looks good too. Sizzling shrimp. Yummy! I'd go along way for mushrooms. I can miss the sweetbreads. Calamarie and anchovies any day, all day long!
What are the snails like..are they chewy ? they certainly don't look apetising but maybe they're an acquired taste ...lol. I presume their not the snails I have roaming around my garden,I never know what to do with them but maybe I'll cook em up with some nice chorizo and paprika ...or maybe NOT !!

La empanadilla es pequeña, la empanada es mas grande , se había perdido la costumbre de consumila hasta que volvieron los nuetos de españoles desde Argentina, de todos modos mucho antes llego por los árabes
I want to clarify something. There is NO street food in Spain because it is prohibited by law except if you go to events called “ferias” and you pay for the right to sell food in an open market. Food is found in restaurants, bars, taverns, and tiendas….so when you put a tittle for your video be more accurate. Thanks. 😊😊😊
Nice collab. James took the wanting-to-host-the-show off straight away off you in the first restaurant, and rightfully so.Trying just one caracole, and one sweetbread. Very dissapointed. You'll find the ingredients in NY, but kinda missed the source. Not knocking. Then again you got pissed, which was slighty amusing.
