I am extremely happy that we now have a medium in 4k, which is good enough for us all to finally see the full glory of these classics shot on film; to me, the by far most important films being released on 4k are the lovingly restored old greats which can now shine as they never have before! By Spielberg I only have E.T. on 4k, but who knows..
We watched our 4K copy of Jaws last night. Beautiful picture and sound. This movie has aged incredibly well: nothing cheesy and the performances are brilliant. One of my all time favorite movies, as relevant today as it was in 1975.

Like you it's a go to movie for me, can watch it anytime and enjoy it every time. Enjoyed seeing your collection.
It's my favorite film too and I also watch it at least once a year. I have some of this itens like "Memories of Martha's Vineyard" (I'd like to visit that island again) with a different cover.The disc laser is amazing!!! It doesn't matter if you can't play it!

Jaws is a great film of classic moments and one of Spielberg’s best as he actually uses the camera and creates wonderful compositions. I have the same problem with the thing as I have about 12 different editions. Keep up the good work sir.
Nice collection, Dave! I love Spielberg and hope to pick up the Jaws 4K edition next month. My personal favorite Spielberg film is Empire of the Sun.. so underrated in my opinion!
Hi Tim. I like Spielberg's early films like Duel, Sugarland Express, Jaws, Close Encounters, E.T., Raiders of the Lost Ark though his entire filmography is brilliant. I have yet to see Empire of the Sun but will add to my list. Thanks for the comment and recommendation.
@@CinemaDaveMedia Duel is fantastic. In an interview Spielberg said that he considers Duel and Jaws similar in many ways. I guess it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why. The truck equals the shark and the guy driving the car (his character’s name escapes me) equals Brody, Hooper and Quint. And I believe he used the word “leviathan” to describe both the truck and the truck.
Jaws is my favorite movie. I’ve probably seen it 100 times and that might not be an exaggeration. I own it on dvd and Blu-ray and just ordered the 4K version the other day. Every review I’ve heard says it’s great.

Hi Rob. Thanks so much. Yes, I did a live video about a year ago but thought I should put together a proper video on my Jaws collection. The Laserdisc is great, now I wish I had kept my player. I have a Jaws poster and VHS tape too that I will need to include when I do an update.

This is the movie that made me afraid of sharks! It scared me so much as a kids that for years I’d flinch if I saw a shark on tv or a magazine. Unfortunately so because they’re beautiful and amazing animals but I still find it hard to watch anything about them. I’ve seen snippets of the movie here and their so I don’t think it’d scare me if I rewatched it so I’m thinking about getting the 4K :) awesome collection. I’d love to have a collection like that about certain movies some day.
Hi Michael. I forget sometimes that Jaws is really a horror film because I love the direction, performances, music plus the memory of seeing it when I was younger with my family. Having said that, I still don't swim in the ocean mostly because of sharks and this movie.
I have the original hardcover Doubleday novel by Peter Benchly as wall as an original 27×41 One sheet movie poster.I now have 2 copies of the 4K Blu-ray, with 1 of them being a Best Buy exclusive Steelbook edition.

I’m surprised you don’t own the Universal 100th anniversary digibook edition of Jaws. It’s a beautiful hardback book blu-ray case with a built in book about the making of the film and the film on both DVD and Blu-Ray. I own a few universal digibooks their awesome. But I am really looking forward to the 4K release - pre ordered mine, exciting!
I never understood the attraction that people had to the Jaws movie. I didn't care for it. The movie falls into the fright category. Hundreds if not millions of people did not go to the resorts on the coasts for many years. I worked at Bell & Howell in the mid 80s. They had a film reproduction house in Northbrook IL. I was QC. Hundreds of VHS/Beta Jaws movies came across my station for weeks. Another film that also came across in mass was Animal House. The plant was filled with Animal House for three months. I didn't care for the movie, though it had some hilarious parts. Pop culture. You said you liked the movie because it brought back memories with your family. I think if you separate the movie from your family memories you might see things differently. I would recommend taking pictures and short videos of your family because those are real memories.

I believe that Jaws 1, 2 and 3 were also available on CED Video Disc. Nothing screams retro like have your favorite movie on vinyl.

I watch it all the time. I have it on VHS, DVD, Blu Ray. I have all the others on DVD. Need to get tye blu rays. I plan on getting the 4K as well!
