コナミの「グラディウス」のファミコン移植版。ハードの性能上、オプションが2個まで・短いレーザー・横に潰れたビッグコア・上下スクロールの廃止など、オリジナルと異なる点が目立つが当時としては移植度は高い。家庭用らしく、ある地点を通過することで隠しボーナスがあるのが楽しい。コンティニューは自由にできる。
※「VS.システム」とは、「ファミリーコンピュータ」の基板を元に任天堂が開発したもの。日本では2人で向かい合うタイプの赤い専用の筐体に収められていた事で知られるが、海外では2台分の筐体を横に並べてくっつけたアップライトタイプのものと、シングルタイプの「ユニシステム」がある。

This is just the NES version, put into arcades as one of those Vs cabs. Castlevania also saw the same fate, but there were differences from it's NES counterpart, like being made harder to garner more coins out of your pocket.
