Those were some beautiful big wild brown trout. I’ve caught a couple of 11-12” browns like that in far western NC this year. Beautiful stream as well. 👍
Man I’ve been binge watching your content. I got my first fly rod yesterday because of you. It’s going to take some serious practice since all I use right now are baitcasters but I’m excited to learn. Keep up the good content man!
@@SlabDynasty I’m hoping to go this weekend and try my luck so we will see! I’ve been practicing a little in the yard just to attempt to get a handle on it
What a great adventure. I have a spot sort of like that in Wisconsin on a very small stream that is always good for at least one nice brown. That was so exciting to see that brown come under that rock to take the streamer. I’ve found micro streamers to be very effective on small streams. Thanks for sharing.
I have fished this creek numerous times, being 60 years old and having lived in the area all my life. It’s one of the very few streams in WNC where you can catch browns and brook trout in the same stretch of water, often in the same hole. I enjoyed your video.
I'm a local out of Old Fort - what's the stream? I thought maybe the remote part of the Mills...? But aren't native brookies usually at higher elevations? So I am confused lol
Slab I've been watching your content for a while now! Love the channel! We would love the chance to collaborate with you headed to western NC September 24-26th if you want to join!
Hey! We’d love to get up with ya but life’s a little busy right now and we’re taking a little break from the vids. We’ll definitely hit you up soon. Dm us on Instagram if you can
@@SlabDynasty sounds good man, we do not currently have an instagram but will shoot you a message shortly once we get something set up. Looking forward to it, tight lines brother!
Such a awesome video. Moved to WNC from SW Florida and fishing is a huge part of my life. Content like this gets me fired up! Great Job!
Thank you! A ton to explore up in these mountains, it’s an amazing and beautiful place. The fish are just a bonus
That was an amazing eat around the 14:20 mark! That was a rough loss… Another amazing video. As always, I’m looking forward to the next one!
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed
Looks like you guys had a great time catching some beautiful fish!
The moment a fish hits is beautiful!
The trout there are beautiful too!
That last streamer eat is one we will never forget!
I get more enjoyment catching 10" trout on a stream like that over 30" tailing redfish. nice vid
I enjoyed your video. I fish small mountain streams like that in NH. Nothing better in my opinion.

When I was yall's age, this is what I did all over WNC. Your film brought back some memories.
That’s awesome Mike, glad we could help resurface some great memories
This is my style of fishing. Stop making it look so good, the mountains are getting crowded! :P

Thanks for watching! We don’t always opt for a jig streamer, but in this case we wish we threw it more. We think we could have caught many more.
Rush River by El Paso?
I was waiting for this video! I saw the shorts and wondered where the video was and couldn’t find it, but here it is!
We took some extra time in post to make sure this vid was up to our standards. Hope you enjoy!

It’s a gem for sure! Hoping to get on some brookies next time

@@jee7668 I won’t call it’s name, I don’t pass along stream names in a public forum but I will say it’s in Haywood County.
Sick trip and vid! We just got our ass beat on a small creek last week, but man was it gorgeous.
Yep, that’s why we love it, if you can’t catch ‘em then at least you’ve got some epic scenery
Beautiful Mercedes lol weird that it got covered at the end.

Can I ask, what length leaders are you using for these spooky wild NC mountain trout?
7 and 1/2 ft
We did spook some fish though so longer leaders might work better. We like the shorter leaders for quick, compact roll casts in those little pools
I fish a lot of little rivers like that in western maryland, with native brook with a 7 ft fly rod, now living in charleston im doing the salt thing,
Nice! I’m close to Charleston. Good red fishing down there, I’d imagine.
I know the creek. I grew up just across creek from parking spot. how lucky was I ?
Wow! Very lucky.
What company net is in this video?
Fishpond
Fish pond
I may have missed it but what stream was this?
