I experienced something similar. I went on a long long hike and my shoes weren’t a good fit. I bruised both large toes and several other of my toes. Some turned black and blue and eventually grew out. The large toes are taking 6 months and only half way grown out! I trim and keep a good maintenance program…thanks to following your Chanel! Using the filer on the bumped out surface has helped to even out the texture. I usually keep my toes painted with a nice color to camouflage the damage.
My big toe nail did that once after I ran my first 5k race years ago and then it cracked and the whole thing came off! 😳 it grew back but not because I was actively running at the time I believe it's developed into permanent Onycholysis on the side. Took me until I discovered your videos that thats what it is.
This looks a bit like onychomadesis or beau’s lines. I get this with psoriatic arthritis although I believe any kind of trauma can cause it. Such an interesting video - thank you for sharing!
My large toenails both lifted and peeled off after doing gel nails over the summer. Starting to grow back now, but now toe next to big toe just lifted and is completely gone.
Hello I'm a french nail tech, I actually do such fixing with protectiv nail form and polygel, it's very effective and when you watch over it properly after, no problems at all 😊
I can’t believe how natural it looks! I would love to see a follow up ☺️ Could you use this gel on someone who has an allergy/sensitivity to gel and acrylic? Mainly because you said it’s skin safe, so now I’m wondering if it could be an option for me for small nail breaks ☺️
I had that happen to both my big toes at a salon and some of the side toes from a really harsh gel removal I trimmed short and moisturized a lot and it went away after a couple of months
You’re client her big toe nail looks like nothing happend. The gel that you applied on her toe nails looks very naturel. You did a great job. Her toenail looks brand new
I’d love to see a follow up. I had no idea they made a gel that was safe for skin contact! Fantastic!! What are the cons to this product? (i haven’t watched the entire video yet, so if you answer this question, never mind. 😂)
Hi Mercedes! Imentioned in the video (I hope) that this particular gel is designed for skin contact and for that exact type of application. This mostly happens due to some trauma (even to the matrix). The nail grew uneven and then due some even minor trauma it broke and lifted. Let’s hope it grows out well. It should.
@TheSalonLife , you probably did mention it, and I missed it, but I do plan to watch again. AMAZING work! I haven't gone anywhere to get a manicure or pedicure since finding your channel. No one does work like you do!🎉
Could be that the nails were too long and too strong which lead to hitting the ends on shoes and they fell off. Or allergic reaction. Generally I’m not a fan of gel polish on toes.
I would recommend seeing a medical professional when in doubt. Fungal nails are thicker, separated usually, crumbly with a debris under the nail. It looks different.
Doug Schoon has said that fungus is slow growing. Anna said she is a regular client of hers. So I’m sure that’s another reason Anna ruled out fungus. I have had repeated boughts of onycholysis (lifting off the nail bed), and that’s exactly what this looks like to me, too. So if your husband’s nail appearance happened suddenly it might not be fungus. However, Doug Schoon has also said fungus is hard to kill, so absolutely go to a medical professional and get it tested. If he does have lifting, keep it as dry as possible. (a hair dryer on cool can be used to dry under the nail after bathing.). A doctor might even prescribe a topical anti fungal cream.
My ugly nail looks a lot like this. But I have had it for years and it grows slowly, not fast. I would really like to see your customers toe in a month. My nail got kicked heavy. It got a blue mark under the nail, witch hurted a lot. My doctor didn't take my pain serious, but a friend made me a comress with a liquid , that sucked the pressure out (?😅 not sure how, but pain and blue colour was gone) Than a heavy man jumped at a concert at the same toe, the nail grew thick and after a while a top nail fell off and uncovered a baby nail . Since then the baby nail grew into a big, ugly, deformed, thick, sensible to pressure and yellow nail. I never planed to share my whole nail story😂
Looks like running trauma. One of my coworkers would get similar nail trauma on her big toes when she increased her training. Ironic - running for stress relief/cardio health and your nails protest the effort 😂
This is totally within my scope of practice. These gels are created for these exact cases. There is no inflammation, no pain and no disease. It's cosmetic.
You can be allergic to gel also. I don’t understand when finger nails and toe nails are dead keratin. Do you have data that says acrylic can create allergies. There is data that gel products create allergies.
The question L&P vs. gel was not about allergy (yes, both contain allergenic ingredients) but about rigity of the coating. Gel made specifically for toes is very flexible and flexes with the nail. L&P is hard and it wont. This gel is designed to be used on the skin, I don't know any L&P system that is. Allergies happen after long time exposure, 1 exposure should not cause it this is why I was asking pros how they feel about it.

Oh my gosh Anna, you are a magician!
Thank you so much!! Sometimes the gel skills come in handy :))

You are such a perfectionist!❤❤

Thank you :))
My large toenails both lifted and peeled off after doing gel nails over the summer. Starting to grow back now, but now toe next to big toe just lifted and is completely gone.
I would love to see a follow up video and see how this toe nail heals.
This is very satisfying to watch!

My toenails are similar. I guess from Long hikes and certain gym exercises 😮
That can happen. Yes
That happened because she suffered some trauma on the nail matrix, the same thing happened to me and my toenail was growing weird for several months
Fabulous job !
a follow-up would be very interesting!
Yes we want the follow up! Do you recommend that nail oil for us regular people?
Yes to the oil of course. After a shower and drying your nails
Wau🎉🎉You are a magician ✨✨✨✨👌🏻
It's amazing how you fixed that nail! Did you say it's ok to get that product on the skin? Will the nail grow out properly?
Hi Mercedes! Imentioned in the video (I hope) that this particular gel is designed for skin contact and for that exact type of application.

Do you thing doing gel polish during hot months of summer could damage nail beds why my nails fell off?
Could be that the nails were too long and too strong which lead to hitting the ends on shoes and they fell off. Or allergic reaction.
Generally I’m not a fan of gel polish on toes.
Amazing how you fixed her toenail so it can mend!
I would like to see the follow up appointment of this client :-)
Yes to a follow up!
Thank you:)))
How did the nail separate?
Wow!!!! 👍👍
Thank you! 👍🥰
I am interested in seeing a follow up
How did you know that it wasn't fungal? My husband's toe looks like this from trauma, and I wasn't sure how to tell

My toenails are like that and test shown not fungus and no trauma

@@dagmarh.3026 man that's crazy. It never even crossed my mind that people have problems with their toenails 😅
I wanna see the follow up video

❤❤❤yes please follow up
This is like my momma's big toe
❤
Follow up please!
I think she should go to a toe doctor like the ones one yt.. to check if is not harmful before putting product on them..
