I thought the same. Sherry saying it don’t taste like hers is dumb to me because not everyone cooks the same thing the same way. That really did not make any sense
Its actually kind of disappointing to see that attitude from "chefs" (probably self-proclaimed). Breaking it down the two chefs who didn't win did some really odd stuff. For example, the whole point of doing a reverse sear is to make sure you DON'T overcook the meat. The fact both other chefs thought it was dry means she messed up the most time consuming part of her dish. It also pissed me off when one of them was saying the sauce carried his dish. First of all, the other two used seafood and sides on theirs, he was the only one who actually did just a porkchop. Second, he brined his porkchop, so it would have been saltier and more moist than the other two dishes. The fact someone said the meat wasn't that flavorful instead of complaining about it being too salty makes be suspect they were just making stuff up. Some other stuff also shows a bit of inexperience on the other chef's parts. Reverse sear is usually used on fairly thick cuts of meat (2-3 inches) to maximize how much pink center you have in beef (not that you can't use it on pork). On a 1 inch piece of meat the benefits are negligible and it takes way longer to do a reverse sear than a pan sear because you have to heat the meat slowly in the oven before briefly searing the outside. It's a really odd choice for a thin porkchop for someone working on a resturant's time frame. The other chef complained about pink being in the center but there are ways of cooking pork safely and keeping a pink center. Also, the chef who seemed surprised that the other dishes were sweet was weird. I don't love many sweet pork dishes myself, but it's an extremely common way to prepare pork, especially BBQ style pork. The brine and the less-well done cooking time shows he made a lot of effort to ensure the pork was tender, which can be a problem with porkchops. So I'm not saying the chefs cooked anything wrong, but they made some weird choices and comments that seem to indicate they don't have as much experience (or even time spent researching) as they like to pretend they do. Don't take my word for it. Look up reverse sear, safe pork temperatures, and brining meat and read a few articles. You'll see there's a lot of different attitudes in the cooking community about them but you'll find the pros and cons of each technique.

Seriously. Mix it up and throw it in at 350. Stir at least every 30 minutes. Light brown after 90 minutes, dark for gumbo will take about 2 hours. Takes forever, but hard to mess up. Handy when trying to corral kids while cooking.
@@solistardust33 what the he'll are grits
Basically she's racist.
Sherry’s chef coat and hat looks like she got it out of a kids “You Can Be Anything!” Kit and had it embroidered…..
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Aquaaa....
I hate you😂😂😂
☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
Right 🤣🤣🤣
The most fair judge finally won
I like how she says for the second one it's way to undercooked but he says slightly overcooked it just shows how much she cook it
This was a wonderful episode! I’m glad the male chef won. He had the most valuable critiques across the panel of other chefs.
Wow saying someone's porkchop has no "culture" is a ridiculous complaint. Just because it isn't your culture, doesn't mean it has no culture.
Yeah that was racist af
The girl with the dry pork chop was saying everyone else's is uncooked.
I hate when that girl said “it’s nothing like mine…” no shit sherlock
Sherry: it’s not juicy enough for me!
Also sherry: it’s undercooked!
Also sherry: had a pork chop dryer than my dead cat’s ashes
Like- I’m 15 and a vegetarian and british and I’m convinced I can cook a better pork chop than her! 🤣
At this point Sherry should just go sit down somewhere none of her complaints were valid the only thing she said was that "it's not like mine" I mean yours is yours (needs some work) and theirs is theirs
“It doesn’t taste like mine” is such a poor excuse to dock points! Happy the man won, congrats!
They should just let random people try and judge. Not the people who cooked, so they couldn't under rate for a BS win.
I agree. Or having the judges rate, along with random people. These videos become pointless when one is trying to rig it to win lol
That's true. Or just give their feedback without rating it.
All Sherry know how to tell is if something is sweet or not. “Let me see how this jam tastes…..oh it’s sweet, just like I thought it was”
🤣🤣🤣
I would like to see a video of each chef explaining and telling how they cook certain foods and then let the other chefs cook it that way. Then see how close they got to the other chefs recipe. Basically same recipe from different chefs
It’s crazy from the start you can tell who finna lie through the whole challenge 🤣
Every time, never fails lol
Sherry.. smh
Sherry annoyed me so much, “it’s not cooked all the way” 🙄
Who tf is hiring Sherry to cater their events?
@@MsRose00 y’all are cracking me up 😂
@@MsRose00 People in New Orleans...people like me. We don't eat pork chops that have pink anywhere.
She's black, most of us black folk don't like undercooked food.
Well my mother’s family is black and from Louisiana. Idk much about how “all” black people like their pork chops as I don’t eat them, but I know I have a cousin an aunt and cousin, on my mother’s side who order their pork chops as medium. Idk you could but if we go to upscale dining places, you can order pork chops the same as you order steak. Well, almost. They won’t serve it rare, of course. Also, this isn’t about personal preference but there is no culinary school in the world that will tell you to serve any protein well done. Let Sherry take that pork chop to Gordon Ramsey and see what happens…
Sherry the reason I see people on the internet making jokes about how it would ruin their day when their parents said it's pork chop night, just overcooking the meat lol
I always looked forward to porkchop night everytime and it was always well done, never had a problem
You can tell her knew what he was talking about based on the feedback he gave for each dish. Big up to him.
I glad he won. Especially talking about the ancestors 💕
😩 if you wanna shake the table as you cut your pork chop, then just SAY THAT!! 😒 overcooked meat is not it. (I’m a vegetarian lmaooo, but I know from my meat eating days). ☺️
Same!!! Im vegan and i was like, "meat aint supposed to be stale like that!" Those women were salty ironically despite how unflavored their food was. Im glad jermain won
lol your name is very fitting to your statement.
Raw pork is dangerous doe
@@Erick-go3ok not raw, but right before it's cooked dry, it just looks pink due to the juices still inside it. If the meat is opaque, it's cooked thru.
Pork not cooked through is dangerous and cause medical issues, it can still be cooked through and juicy at the same time I do it all the time.
She's a pro chef and cooked a pork chop for EIGHTEEN minutes on cast iron? Lmfao.
18 min for that thick of a pork is actually a lot wtf that thing is dry af
@@boni4546 I did better than sherry on my first time cooking a pork chop
Yea that was insane, 6 minutes on a cast iron then throw it in the overln on 500 for an additional 3-4 minutes depending on thickness c'mon now everyone knows this
The way she kept darting her eyes with every critique makes it seems like she's trying to sound like a chef and hoping no one notices.
18 min in cast iron on medium……girl WHET!
Don't bring back Sherry she wanted to hate from the beginning
I LOVE grilled chops. I've learned how to perfect them now. It's exciting when someone new gets to try then. Super juicy and flavor packed! No other way is better.. we've tried. Lol
Wow, Jamaican, African and New Orleans. Lots of bold flavors
She said she could be won over by sauce but put no sauce on her pork chop
fr like make it make sense
Fun fact it was a pork chop not a ( or do you Americans call all lean cuts steaks?)
@@willywiththespicydilly5382 called a mistake plus I'm British
@@juliannabell75 we all human beautiful mistakes ain't nothing but a learning curve.
the mashed potatoes at the bottom act like a sauce too, sauce doesn't always mean very fluid
Kinda wished Sherry woulda shown all that "uncooked" food she was talking about.
Lol did anybody else think sherry was just voting people lower so she could win?
Jerkmuva is correct, every Caribbean person must know how to cook....almost like a right of passage 🙋🏽♀️
Jermaine is hilarious, "on the cusp" "I'm parched" "channeling my ancestors"
It is always the most honest and truthful person whose food rates the highest. Coincidence? I think not lol.
Not cooking for you. You’re cooking for other people. It irritates me how people judge off their own preferences and not what may or not be tasteful for others. Js
Tell her 50, and 200 show up? Nobody would have ate at that wedding 😂
Lmao we would have split them 50 entrees into Appetizers lol
Come to find out, Sherry cooks food to death anyways so all those who didn’t eat were done a favor! They just didn’t know!
Also probably to not get in trouble with the health department... Wonder how many people got Covid at that wedding.
Shorty with the black hat enjoyed the last one, said good things and got jaelous and dogged it lmao
Culture is RELATIVE. Just because something is not cooked the way YOU are used to doesn't mean it doesn't have culture! I'm convinced Sherry is just a home cook and claiming she a chef. The way she was picking at her food was like watching a child try veggies for the first time.
I knew he was going to win... he looked & sound like he was the real deal!!!
7:44 Brining your pork chops will change everything. Submerge them in cold water with a bit of salt and brown sugar overnight. Then pat dry, season and cook. It changes every single aspect about pork chops. You'll never go back.
Thank you 🙏🏾 😁
I knew JerkMuva was going to lose when she said she was going to win because she’s JerkMuva 😭
😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Exactly
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
i love yall have Caribbean influences on this show, its so hard to see out here in cali (as someone from the bahamas)
brooo Jermaine is the goat!!! I don't really care for the other ones due to them being picky, a chef isn't picky. Pork chops are many cultures but what makes it good is the love and patience you have. Cooking is an art for sure
It’s getting serious when it’s professional.
When the brother said he channeled the ancestors I knew what time it was.
Bring the blindfolds back or come up with a different way for them to taste the food without knowing who cooked it. Some people are unfair with their ratings because they want to increase their own chances, and it's not fun to watch when some contestants are purposefully undercutting other people.
Honestly it just depends on how you grew up because at a certain point in time a tint of pink in your pork raised risk of getting a parasite.
finally - somebody said it.
I just cannot get over the pinkness in meat. Steak, pork chops- it all has to be well done or i won't eat it.
@@MajeDoom same!!
Thank you!!!
That’s only because in ethnic communities a lot of our supermarkets had meat that wasn’t of good quality and the meat that was were sold at higher prices.
You already know who is the Pork chops Boss??? With Gravy. Definitely the southern culture. Hands downnn.👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾
i like how they gave helpful tips instead of straight attacking
I love that he was honest/impartial in his judgment - so often I watch these meal comparisons and people are so biased... You can just tell from their expression - “ oh it doesn't taste like mine.. give to Caesar what is due to César
I liked it better when the participants unknowingly tasted & judged their own food. Made it a lot more interesting. I wonder if Sherry would have judged her own pork chop as raw 😂😂😂
It's always interesting to me to see how black chefs specifically cook pork. Will they overcook it like many black families or will they go back to their culinary training where they learned that it's acceptable and preferred that it be a little bit pink. I think Sherry couldn't get past her roots on this one, everyone's porkchop was undercooked for her.
honey the 2 women haven't had any culinary training. However, I bet Ashely's food is a lot better than Shery, Sherry sounds like she don't know what she's doing
@@MultiGemgirl Sherry is a little suspect 😒
Sherry sell plates out her kitchen once a week and now she a chef
Just by the look of Jermaine food , it looks appetizing 🥰 and I haven’t even finished the show yet🤣
I love how they trashed each other food, but still eating at the same time 😂😂
There’s a recurring theme of the mean person losing and the nice guys winning on this show.
Jermaine is too good. Super fun watching him critique and Jerkmuva is very honest.
She does know that the pork chop is to be pink, right? There's a difference between pink and raw.
Jermaine is the only thoughtful judge here who rated the food professionally and accurately. Sherry doesn't know what she's talking about, and Jerkmuva had nothing but good things to say about his dish but still only gave it a 7.5. Just....wow. Glad dude won.
U can tell how good a chef is by how fair they rate other people's and the way they critique. I love it when the bitter people lose
Sherry is giving me quarantine chef vibes , cause girl..
I don’t even like nor eat pork chops, but I love this series!
You must be a vegitarian
Me either I hate pork chops
It appears as though the male Chef is the only one who actually did unbiased food critiquing. We need to bring back the blindfolds so that people can taste their own food and rate it
My wife use to do a porckchop, back when we ate pork, with pears and crumbled blue cheese on top. Definitely suprised how well they all mixed.
Loved his energy
I’m with her on the well done chop! but I’ve made really juicy well done chops before. It doesn’t have to be pink to be moist and juicy. I’d Reserve that medium for beef and lamb.
Amen Sis!
My grandma never made a well done pork chop that wasn't juicy
Yeah. You can slow cook it in the oven, and it be well done and tender.
When I have thick pork chops I brine them first.
You better represent for the brothas Jermaine!
"Moist, succulent and delicious"
Are we still talking about pork chop?
When I cook pork chops, I cook it for 4-6 hours at 250-275. Comes out fall apart tender and juicy. I use garlic, salt, onion, sage, thyme, and pepper as the seasoning.
I've never had a complaint and when I make a big pan (about 10 lbs.) it's gone in about an hour.
The Shaaaaaaaaaade!!! Its real hard for a chop to be dry and under cooked but considered the Extra char on that thang....we all get it...
