Because plainly religious acts that are not right or good are useless. A few questions for your personal consideration:
1. What is God's design for marriage and sex?
2. Does the act of doing "x" (whatever "x" is, as long as it is your choice) put you in a position where you can easily commit sin and affect your relationship with God?
3. Do you feel some inner conviction of guilt (and hence a desire to brush it aside) if you do it?
