  • It is time for a shakedown camping trip with my rooftop tent made by Roofnest. I have used it on a few occasions, but this time I take it boondocking to a dispersed campsite in the national forest. Follow along and take a tour of how I use it and how I have the inside set up. This model is the Sparrow Eye and weighs only 130 lbs. That is less than other models like the Falcon and the Condor.

Add a short strap from the bottom rung of your ladder to one of the holes in the rear wheel of your truck to keep the ladder from sliding.

Hello, David. My concern is the ladder sliding towards and against the truck. I can avoid this issue by locking each rung of the ladder in the fully extended position, but then the ladder is too far away from the truck. I hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for commenting!

Great work! Finally a detailed review of that model RTT. Does any of the openings have a clear window? So you can see outside when it’s cold or windy without using the screens?

Hello, sanjay sinclair. There are not any clear windows. For me, sleeping with my feet towards the hinging side of the RTT is the only good option. Doing so leaves me staring at the tent's roof. But I still like the functionality of the clamshell design and I like my Roofnest. I appreciate you taking the time to comment!
