Appreciate this informative. I’ve been an NIV reader for a few years and started looking at other versions to compare wording. I’m surprised at how different translations can be. Started reading KJV, and though it hurts my brain to understand the meaning at times, I’m sure it will get better over time.

After awhile you will understand the words and you will appreciate the KJV.

It forces us to ask Him for understanding as opposed to having man give us their understanding of it.
      Proverbs 3:5-7 KJV
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. [7] Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord , and depart from evil.

Words are different because a) there are 2 primary sources of manuscripts, the Byzantine text and the Alexandrian text. 2) Greek and Hebrew are much more dynamic that English. English is very flat in comparison. So choosing the perfect word is often a matter of opinion. If you want to dig into the Bible than learning Greek and Hebrew is what you want to do not just look at English versions. I like KJV, NKJV, ESV ect. The best Bible translation is the one you actually read.

If you'll get or go online to Webster's 1828 Dictionary of the English language, it will help with definitions of words you are not familiar with. It even gives KJV references to where word is used

Praise God! Another sound rebuke of modern “progress”! Being still a babe in Christ, I have wondered how so many believers could be led astray on such a grand scale. I hear the softened and diluted verses of some versions and am only saddened that so many rely on such text because they’ve been deceived into thinking it’s easier to read. Often it upsets me to pick up on the subtle changes and how they effect the clarity and purity of the text.
A day or so after I got saved I was led by the Holy Spirit to the KJV. I had been reading the nkjv beforehand but just knew within that the KJV was different the moment I started reading it. The more the Lord allows me to see through the deception, the more I can help others see the light. You are a beacon to others, I pray you stay encouraged, continue in peace and be blessed in the name of our LORD!
    Thank you!
I used to be a scholar in the secular world of science. Now as I see, scriptural scholarship in seminaries only seem to facilitate doubt and puff the scholars up with head knowledge. We can learn from the Lord directly if we are willing to patiently listen from his word. This is why I am currently struggling with moving forward into a ministry. I would like to learn, so as to teach, but I also know the responsibility and judgment is very great and see most of what is being taught as being led by men rather than God. I ask humbly, please pray for me if you’re so led. I want to see souls reached and saved. I want to see tears of relief and peace and joy that comes from the regeneration of the Holy Spirit. I pray for all who watched this video, that they would be drawn closer to the words of our Almighty savior, that they would learn to love to rely on the Lord more fully, and to bless and thank Him for that which He gives and those who He allows us to meet. It is His nature to love and tenderly teach. I hope you’re ready to meet Him like I am!

What if someone doesn't speak or read English? Though it may seem so, but the world doesn't revolve around the English language. Do you know what the best translations would be for each language, or are we only concerned about English?

    • @garyg7549
      @garyg7549 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Amen. Yes the masses are deceived because that's what they're hearing from the pulpit. The person in the Pulpit is learning from Seminary that the "oldest and best" manuscripts, which DON'T EXIST mind you, are the best readings of scripture.
So whatever Bible you have in your hand, that's not truly the word of God.., it has mistakes in it, no matter what version you're reading. Especially if you're reading the King James LOL

As a child 17 years before my New Birth I felt the Bible wasn't correctly translated, @Michael Pearl, but knew God wanted it that way because He didn't want man thinking we could get back to him by our own understanding. I felt it was written so we would "Trust in God with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding."
I listened to this in the early evening of the 31st but it's 3AM the 1st after that I remembered saying that as a preteen Sunday School teacher of 6-9 year olds because there wasn't enough adult to teach them. Thanks for bringing it to my remembrance.

My daughter and I read In Awe Of Thy Word. It took a whole year taking time to digest and look up when we needed more information on something. It was fascinating and gave us both much understanding. I have read Flyod Nolen Jones book more than once and it too is great insight. What you have shared here Mike has made very clear what I could explain to doubters unlike I was able to know from the 2 above mentioned books. Thank you for clarifying so simply.

Thanks brother. This matter is of utmost importance. God willing, I'm going to battle for God's Word as handed down through the Church. The argument here is generally the same argument I use, but I'm not yet as well informed on the details, so I have some studying to do. You're not alone out there, and there is another generation ready to carry on into the future; we're here. Shalom.

I'm also very thankful that Mike said in another video that many KJV only churches get so bigoted on this issue, that you wouldn't want to attend there.
When I first got born again in 1986 I knew nothing about all this.
I ended up with an NIV bible. And though it came from the polluted manuscripts, God was nevertheless able to use it. Because I read it from cover to cover with a heart to believe it and obey it.

Amen yes brother, this is not a discussion for every believer. If someone is reading a Bible they like then yes keep on reading it. If someone asks me which version I think is the true word of God, I will point at the KJV all day long and twice on Sunday.
But that will only be a discussion with a mature Christian or someone generally inquisitive about Bible versions.

Thank you for blessing us with this word and knowledge in the new year. Surprise surprise just today I watched another video that you had addressed the same topic (Why King James Bible Only? Bible Questions with Michael Pearl - Episode 027 - No Greater Joy Ministries). I thank God for bringing me to your Channel because I have learnt so much in about 2 years, even exceeding all that I have known about the Word of God ever since I was born. Indeed my Spirit agrees with the King James Bible, for when I read it I can feel the power, the move of the Word of God in a very special way. Indeed some versions dilute that and they feel so modern. I am waiting for part 2 and thank you for doing the work of the Lord. Be blessed you and your family.

I was talking to my brother yesterday and the subject of the nephlim came up. He said the KJV was incorrect in its translation of what they "really" were.
After some discussion, he said that all the bibles lead to Jesus so it's not a big deal. I was at a heartbroken loss. My brother was flippant about the INERRANT, INFALLIBLE word of God. The word that we grew up with and were saved by!
I left and was lost as what to do, what to believe, questioned if I was actually wrong. Have I been deceived to think the KJV is truly God's word!?!
Then this show popped up on my youtube feed. I had subscribed to The Door channel less than a month ago and now I needed the information Michael Pearl gave me.
I hope I can talk to my brother without conflict. I bought 2 of the books "Which bible is the bible" and will take one to him when they arrive.
God help me be a witness.

I even write the definition in my Bible next to the word. Once I've learned that word, I've got it. Nothing is going to change.

I was using the NIV when God had mercy on me and saved me by His grace. I had been a hard atheist for many years. I knew of the KJB, but just thought a Bible is a Bible. Then I discovered there being so many different versions during a trip to LifeWay Christian Store (back when they had stores). I bought pretty much every version out there. I just had this feeling something wasn’t right; why all these different versions. I wanted God’s pure word and began fervently praying for God to guide me to the right Bible.
I also began to dig and study. From the time God saved me, it took about two years and then bought a KJB. I’d read it some, and then go back to either a NKJV or NASB (because I’d outgrown the NIV). I kept praying and kept dipping back into the KJB. After a couple of years of toggling back and forth between the NKJV, NASB, and the KJB, I found myself using only the KJB and have been ever since. Mr. Pearl was instrumental in my transition. I’m not saying that people can’t get saved with the other versions, but some of them are way out there. However, I do believe the KJB is God’s pure preserved word in the English language. In Psalm 12:6-7, God promises to preserve His word. I just don’t believe God fumbled and let His word go missing for all those centuries, while a “counterfeit” (the KJB), was The Bible during all that time, and the real manuscripts were in a monastery, and hidden away at the Vatican. Great video! God bless.

Are you aware that Nestle revisions (28 to date) always have a Jesuit influence? The Jesuit beginning was a dictate from a Pope around the reformation that stated in a nutshell to get rid of the Protestant teachings and bring people back to the Catholic Church. The have been working on this since then to educate people in their many many schools around the world. Carlo Maria Martini was the last Jesuit to be involved in the latest “revisions”. Their goal is to make the entire world Catholic again. In 2013 the Pope met with many different denominations to unite them. And a couple years ago we saw it in the Muslim world. They’ve been at it for literally hundreds of years and will not rest until they reach their goal.

Interestingly enough, the monks on Mount Sinai did not seem to appreciate the text that the 'scholars' were so anxious to acquire. They were using it to light fires. When Tischendorf returned, they found more of it to sell him, probably thining him a fool who would soon be parted fom his money.

When I tell Christians this, they either don’t believe me or don’t care! When I became a Christian I used the NIV back in 1981. I was curious as to why there were so many versions of what was called the Word of God knowing that they ALL couldn’t be, as they were all different!! This started my quest! I was on a mission to find Gods word He preserved throughout the ages. God is not a God of confusion!! He doesn’t have many “versions” of His word. I firmly believe with all my heart and mind that the KJV is God’s perfect word He preserved through the Textus Receptus line. Keep up the good work brother! There will be a “setting straight” at both the Judgment seat of Christ and the Great White Throne, for judgment begins with the house of God! Love you brother, MARANATHA

Hey Mike, I inherited my great grandfather's KJV and struggle to understand a lot of it as the English language has changed so much since the 1600s. I grew up with an NIV and an NLV but recently purchased an NKJV after completing some subjects at bible college and coming to a similar conclusion to you(without all the detail you have just shared). I do not reject the other interpretations I have used in the past and they served me well for decades, but I do believe the KJV & NKJV provides a more accurate interpretation of the original texts. I have not done a deep dive on any of this, so not sure what the difference is between the NKJV and the KJV other than the fact I can understand the NKJV without needing a dictionary or interpreter. Interested in your thoughts! Great video, thanks for the info, Mike. I am also not dogmatic on this issue, as some people become legalistic on this is topic and can divide the body by arguing. I would simply present this message in love, as I believe you have done well in doing so here, well done. Yours in Christ, Nick from Australia.

    • @thesaintmustwalkalone708
      @thesaintmustwalkalone708 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

The NKJV has had many revisions, so the difference between it and the KJV will depend upon which version of the NKJV you refer to. At times, the NKJV has contradicted itself with its own revisions.
I can tell you it teaches old earth, as opposed to young Creation. It has removed the name Calvary.
It omits Lord 66 times. God, 51 times. Heaven 50 times. Repent 44 times. Lood 23 times. Hell 22 times. It removes God's name, Jehovah (Yehovah), entirely. It also entirely omits damnation and devils (replacing it with "demons" which is not accurate).
The NKJV perverts "narrow is the way" of Salvation into "the way is hard."
It removes Jesus' diety in Acts 3:13 & 26, as well as Acts 4:27 & 30.
The NKJV is the gateway to get people to question God's Word. It's what gets them Comforable with man's words. It is not meant to have lots of changes (though it does have to be 10% different from any other version to obtain a copyright to make their profit off God's Word). It's meant to lead to the other versions. That's what makes the NKJV the most dangerous.

Sounds like youve inherited the 1611 version which would have the apochrypha, i have that too along with a non 1611 version KJV and also an NKJV (my first)
I stick with the KJV (not 1611)
Its a lil “harder” to read than the NKJV but much easier than the 1611.
The standard KJV is the go imo (Michael reads from it also)
One example between them i can give you between KJV and NKJV as follows.
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
      ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:15‬ ‭KJV
      Vs
“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
      ‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭2:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Thats one example i can think of, another thing the NKJV has footnotes pointing out some subtle changes its made from KJV giving you an alternate.
2 thessolonians 2:7 NKJV uses the word He with a footnote for alternative he. KJV uses he and leaves it at that.
So that may not be ideal if you believe in a perfect bible. A perfect bible wouldnt give alternatives imo.
Anyways, hope thats a small help!

I started with a New King James Version as it was better than the other modern versions. That made it a little easier to move to the King James version as they were very close in style and wording.
Still, there's things in the NKJV that take after the modern versions. Important items. So personally, I'm sticking with KJV.
I have confidence that I am reading the word of God. It's been cherished by Evangelicals in this country for 400 years. We used to stand up in church when reading from the Bible because it was revered as the word of God. Today, not so much. Why? Because the pastor in the Pulpit will tell you that the word in your Bible is not correct it should be such and such word.

Agreed. I never hated the NKJV. It just misleads you with it's footnotes. Making you doubt God's word. Some doubt Mark 16:9-20 and put brackets around it.

There is a difference between a Translation and an Interpretation. The KJV is the ONLY Translation. The others are Interpretations. You will do yourself and your family a favor by digging deeper into this. God Bless you.

Last year I discovered the difference between the Antioch (straight from the apostles) and the Alexandrian (Egyptian) texts. It's fascinating and frankly scary.

Amen I agree that the KJB is THE word of God! Have you ever considered that Christians have also fallen for the fact that the earth is not flat when the KJB never says that the earth moves or is a globe, etc? They have “corrected” the KJB with pseudoscience. This revelation changed my life! Glory to God!
Thank you so much for your videos and teachings!
