Out of all the videos i searched through to do this exact job, and i find it when im looking how to remove a speedo cable for a 75 series, thankyou i needed it
It looks like your front shock is now at its limit. I want to remove a leaf out of my samurais springs, but I'm scared it might just drop it and be too soft. Either way cool video thanks for sharing what you did.
those shackles,,look like there on backwards,,the tongue stiking out is for anti wrap,?, hits the chassis so your spring dont get stuk.?.. to make it even better,, grind off the rear mount, move it farward an inch.. shackle should allways have angle. like 15 degrees ish..its harsh cos the shackle is vertical.. not good..
The leaves on my gu are flogged . because of that they are quite good offroad . i just need more height but have avoided replacing with heavier springs cause i know they suck . an n70 hilux with a 3 inch lift cocked a wheel by half a foot and the patrol stayed plated on the same cross angle climb up a bank
take out all the leafs except top 3, then get air bags.. jap leafs are bs.. they have no idea about spring tension, so they just stack them up..each individual leaf,,is suposed to carry more weight.. not all together.. coils are worse, they carry 1 load. hence, air bags..longer the leaf the better.. like, say,,f100 ford, chev, dodge,, real suspension.. not pogo stik.. my f100 had 2ft travel std,,nearly..look at the rear f100/ 250/ 350 shackle, its upside down.. more travel toyotas are renoun for rolling, & spring lock. spring up agaist the chassis, jammed in there... thing with susp lifts.. there usually harder, so you dont roll it..f100 leafs are about 1300 to 1500 long. & nearly flat, small curve.. more curve, less travel.. like this guys.. watch u.s.vids,, you learn more..

That rounded nut thing you pointed out is a locating pin helps to center the diff to the leafs and also centers the leaf spring pack together
@samhellaby9443 Yes thank you
Well done Steve. I really enjoy your way of explaining how you do things, and why.
Thanks Cathy I appreciate your feedback 😊

Thanks mate appreciate the feedback 👍
cheers for the video mate :) what's your chassis coated with by the way ?
Paint and mud 😂🤣
Great build, wish we could get the small diesel engines here in the state.
Thanks mate I'm sure I see plenty of old landcruiers from the USA 🇺🇸
You only need 3-4 max.
Awesome work
Thanks Charlie 😊
Those bottom thick overload springs are way too stiff; I say reduce until nice soft ride! Just one clamp on front to prevent axle wrap.
Yep I'm going to see if it works the way it is and adjust to my needs as required.
did you measure the height before you started,,,,,it s lower now...
No it's the same height just works better.
Shame you couldn't do a spring over conversion and swap the u bolts around
Be better for sure
@@BrokenSprocket I went and had a look at my ute and it was over the other way from factory ye old bravo
@@samftr yes my Hilux is like that
Put jack under spring!

There not anti wrap shackles and there on the correct way. I appreciate the help you have given.
You do not want those 2 thick bottom ones!

If it works for you keep them 👍
at 11:47.. thats,,how it should be normal.. not flexed..
YOUR WASTING YOUR TIME,, GET RID OF THEM,,THERE WRONG..
To each their own. K.I.S.S.
Your shackles are at a 90 degree, not gonna have much flex that way
