We do realise. We have all been watching from day one. Bloody well done
Look at how Nature had taken over to the point it looked like a No Return situation for this Chateau .
Hahaha, was thinking the same!
Need some help? I'm a certified electrician who lives in the Netherlands. Overall builder for 15 years. 800km drive. Just let me know. Great respect and keep it.... safe
When you get there, tell him I'm here in germany and I can cook and BBQ with the best of them... I'm also very good with a broom...😂 I can be there in 6 hours.
Electrical work is coming up soon!
Email him, I doubt he reads all the thousand comments all the time.
How awesome to offer; He is so wonderful!
Write him a letter, Ted!
Can’t believe that was 13 months ago, the build has certainly accelerated in the last 6/8 weeks have the guys helping
The tools help too . Lots of contributions .
So wonderful to be documenting during the digital age. Photo albums just wouldn't do.
It’s moved really well
He has an Irish builder ... Thats the secret sauce
That Water Tank is been around for a long time !
It's pretty amazing watching this old burnt out Chalet/castle be slowly, brick by brick, be put back together. Wow!
Don't think I'm strange but as I watch the videos, I watch the facade of the château. Have you noticed? At the beginning it looks defeated and lost and dead. Then as time goes by you see it start to gain life. It begins to look loved.
I always have noticed the windows looking at them from the outside. When Dan first started, you could see daylight shining out ALL the windows. Now, you only see daylight shining out the windows in the two top areas where final floors will soon go!
Yes ! It's seems to be smiling ...😊
100% Le grande Madame Chaumont is waking up from her slumber. Honestly can’t wait to see what Dan does with the interior’s. I keep remembering what he did in the farm house kitchen… it was absolutely gorgeous. So this will be amazing.
Every day when I watch your vlog I think of the old joke. 'How do you eat an elephant?' 'One bite at a time' . That's what you're doing, restoring your chateau one bite at a time. It's so wonderful to watch your progress. I'm looking forward to summer, the garden in full bloom and the chateau being water tight.
I found myself yesterday saying "What a thing" in response to something impressive near my home. Dan's influence, no doubt.
WOW... I have been here from day one. Hard to believe it has been 13 months already, does not seem that long to me, but every day I have been watching and wonder now where has the time gone. Watching the past videos, I thought to myself, I remember him doing that. Remarkable progress in 13months. Job well done guys.
Au contraire mon cher Dan,510 000 loyal viewers do realize all the planning, and executing required to build a dream to the last minutest detail and we are all gobsmacked by the unassuming BRAINIAC you are and still kind enough to entertaining us daily. We are😍
When that last big concrete block just fit without needing a shaving, that was a sign to me. You are blessed.
Gardening on the top….the good old days.😂
People all over the world watching human creativity that makes sense, what we are all about, while the world around us doesn’t make sense!
We e are all proud of you Dan 💪🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👌🏼❤❤❤❤
I love the reminders of how you got to where you are now. It is staggering to think of the time and effort you've put into rescuing the building. And now you've done the ring beam Nick will have to badger you about something else! You are all just bloody marvellous! ❤❤❤
What an amazing accomplishment, and thanks, Nick, for inspiring Dan to get this wall done! Team Chaumont is really making progress--and excited to see the "invisible plants" so lush and green! Voyons! You're doing great things, a step at a time!
I have to admit, I was skeptical. I never thought you would get this far before you gave up and walked away from this whole project. I'm so glad you did. I love watching your progress. I look forward to watching your videos each day.
Dan, a lot of us have been with you since the Chateau Diaries & YOUR very first vlog. We DO remember!!! Stay safe!!!
Me!
The irony of watching you guys working hard, every day, while I'm not working cos I am watching you makes me smile every evening. Keep up the good work.
I must admit sometimes I feel guilty watching and not actually doing something myself.
Then just LIKE and SUBSCRIBE 😂
Me too😂
No irony here! I always look forward to having a 🍺 🍻 🍺 🍻 🍺 😂😅😂
Excellent progress on the spine wall and ring beam!
It seems like it was just a few days ago we were celebrating getting a roof put on one side. I can’t believe we’re talking about roofing the whole project now
Wowzer. Getting so close to a new roof. Excitement and anticipation is nearly unbearable.
The camera on wobbly scaffolding makes it look like the brick wall will blow away with a good wind.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My thoughts as I gasped out loud! Then I remembered that it's tight. Can't fall!!😮
I had the same thought when I was watching it. 🙂
I always think that too. Scary the first time he did that long ago. 😊
Thought the exact same thing😮
Putting the bricks and blocks is just so fun to watch. From a 77 year old woman. The show is so incredible. God job men😮
The 'Grandma' part of my brain appears to believe that these young men are my sons and nephews and that Nick might be the brother I lost before I was born. I suspect that I've spent too much time buried in family history and that I've seen so many faces that everyone looks like family. ;)
From this old girl, I'm just glad Calvin is there helping with the worst floors and roof. I believe Dan said Calvin is an engineer. I am not as afraid as I was while everything was crumbling and Dan kept putting in heavy beams and floors. It was like being on a rollercoaster.
I had a chuckle at the 4 legged black n white supervisor of the gravel laying…. What a journey so far, absolutely amazing!
What a difference it makes with the arches back it. That must be so satisfying.
The trees growing in inside the chateau was amazing…leave something long enough with no work & the wilderness takes over… still some bushes on top floor…amazing. Just proves that someone always needs to care for property, otherwise it goes back to wilderness….so happy to watch the hard work it takes to bring this chateau back to original life lot of sweat, blood & tears.
Big Dan, what can you (we)say other than amazing simple amazing, how far and how fast you gentlemen have come, the enjoyment you have given to thousands upon thousands of your fans, we all thank you and the guy's!! We'll see ya tomorrow!!!
What a journey, you forget how it was. Hardly any equipment, alone, bad weather and nowhere to hide. It’s incredible how far you’ve come Dan. So grateful for your team and the equipment that are making the dream possible faster!
This journey so far has been a lesson to all of us.
A reminder to focus only on today, and take one step at a time towards our goal, and we will eventually get there.
Well Done 👏 👍
I think you gained a few thousand viewers this past few weeks. So great people are watching this great build and becoming subs!!!
The flashback makes progress look even more impressive! Well done Dan & Team!! Nick is a patient man 😄and truely turning the garden into a reality! You may need to build a half-pipe for Brian 😆
Ahh! The good old days of trees and roots and tons of rubble.
It was such a big deal 13 months ago just seeing the water tank being dismantled. Wow the renovation are really escalating now, well done guys 👏👏.
Ooooooh I remember the water tanks......and trees on the top of walls 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The trees looked absolutely wild when you look back at them today!
@@halvarf true true
Dan remembers the water tanks, it drained him taking that lot down in pieces and on the grinder for days!?!
Its amazing how much better it looks with all the gravel and lots of hard work from Nick!!!
Fortitude, Dan that’s what you’ve got and lots of it. It’s mind blowing when you look back at how far you’ve com.
Unless I’d go back and look at that particular episode (or day really), it’s hard to remember what it was really like.
One of the great things you’ve been doing is showing the current building progress then what the area looked like and the effort to take it all apart to rebuild it stronger and better. Terrific progress these past 13 months. 👍👍
When it comes to getting things done, we need fewer talkers and more bricklayers like Dan. Well done!
So glad you took ur time and bricked it with the small red ones - the right way. Keep on building!
Dan, you may not enjoy 'bricking in' but you are very accomplished at it. Great landscaping by Nick! The pathways look fantastic! The look back to the start is always enjoyable to us, the viewers but I hope you enjoy them too! Look how far you've come!
An aerial shot of the surroundings paths plants would be nice
I looked up the EU requirements for bricklayer (since Dan still seems uncertain of his abilities) and he demonstrates a good grasp of every level of bricklaying certification, never mind all the other crafts he's mastered.
Dan, the arch is a ‘thing of beauty’! Well done ❤️
I am so in awe of what you have accomplished mostly by yourself. It will be so beautiful once you are done with your construction 🥰
I am so glad you are sharing this rebuild with us!! So interesting!! Best show on you tube!!
It is. Too many others seem to be purposely dragging their feet, maybe for the income stream, piddle farting around all artsy fartsy like and philosyphying us to tears. Try as they may it gets boring and even frustrating to watch. While a few, like Dan, are busting it wide open every day, making good progress, and producing the most intriguing content as they go.
The 3 amigos cooking with gas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's one thing to have to work alone on a renovation, that can sometimes feel like it's swallowing you up.....but to have such friends with good, genuine, nature, and harmonious workmanship, in helping you at times.....it is something to marvel and remember for lifetimes!
Dan and everyone! I have believed in you before we even knew about this little purchase! I continue to cheer you on!!
Wowsers Dan! I remember the first video I saw of you, at Steph's, then found out you bought your own Chateau! I binge watched EVERY episode from day one, and I couldn't get enough! Loved how determined you were, all your funny antics, and meeting all the wonderful people who came along on your journey to help. Truly amazing how far you have come, congrats Dan ❤
Its truly amazing how Dan keeps his enthusiasm and perseverance for such a massive project. Amazing!
Makes me proud my Patreon contribution is delivering this amazing production!
Good job with the arch Dan. It looks really good.
Save one of the trees that grew on the top of the chateau; replant it in a large pot and use it for decoration on the roof balcony. Let it be a survivor.
Great idea. When Dan removed the hanging toilet I suggested it be used as a planter. I guess he didn't like that idea.
@@karenmetcalf-pugh5
😂😂😂
Nice idea
It’s the best thing in the evening. Going to bed and watch your new video before sleeping. It has almost become a ritual.
You’re doing a great job, keep going! 🙏
For my husband and me (Vermont, USA), it def is an evening ritual. He's in hospital now, recovering from surgery, and the first thing I tell him when I visit is what Dan, Nick, and the boys have accomplished the day before! He can't wait to get home and watch the next stages. Go Team Chaumont!!!
I am delighted to see that the entire wall has been restored. Keep up the great work, and stay safe! 😊
The reluctant arch !!! Finally in place, doing her job as an arch should do. Great times my fellow viewers, great times... Bloody well done young chap, as my grandfather would have said. Can't wait for the upcoming roofing.
I love when at the end of the video you are so excited about the progress you have made! The castle renovations look monumental to me. I feel anxious at times because everything in the castle looks so crumbly and so delicate to the touch. I'm glad you have a clear vision of the project!
I cannot believe there were so many large trees in the building.
You've worked so hard Dan. I've never seen anybody work harder than you or accomplish as much as you have by yourself and yes you've had help. Thank goodness for your friend and God bless you all.❤❤❤❤
I remember you cutting up those water tanks thinking you won’t be done within a thousand years, but you are getting ready to rebuild the last floor. Amazing.
That Brick Job sure pulls everything together for the roof! Well Done Sir!
The before and after was indeed a massive mission; it's outstanding hard toil, intelligence and grit that you have achieved so much. The Chateau is really coming alive again now. Congratulations and Bravo!!! ❤❤❤❤
And don't you feel amazing!! Well done Dan, putting things off makes them seem harder.. and look what you have done! x
Brian is a great worker. He can do anything, works so good with you and Nick.
Most of us thought you were crazy but you have the vision!
Chaumont doesn’t look the same without the trees on the inside 😂 what an amazing amount of work you have achieved and a lot of it has been all on your own. Inside and the grounds are looking great 😊😊😊
I am always looking out to see when a new video comes out🎉 Hard working men do deserve some TLC . Love you all❤
This gets more exciting by the day. Have watched since the start but like I say, every days' progress makes it more exciting.
Btw….your editing is wonderful. It probably takes too much time but you are killing it.
What a thing!! Definitely a thing, a good thing.
Puppies? Pretty pleeeeeaaaase???? ❤❤
Finally!!! 3 days, to reach the actual state of the Restoration!! Dan, thank you very much for sharing this, so exciting, journey!!! I´ll be here... tomorrow!
You have come along brilliantly in just over a year's time! Incredible! By the way...puppy update:) I see mamma is up and about, which is fabulous to see!
From hauling debris out to putting up this last wall the whole château is coming alive ! Fantastic work! Be safe all of you !
Dan you are amazing and have inspired me to keep going. At times I feel overwhelmed, so I stop and don’t know where to start.
Watching you - you just keep going one step at a time -
everything is all coming together pursuing your dream of restoring this iconic Chateau.
You have a world wide following, love checking in to see how many views you have every day on your posts.
Love all that you do - am from Sydney Australia - 😊
Youve made it extremely hard to be patient with other renos that take forever for a result when you're doing floors one after another..Amazing
The stone in the walkways really defines your garden design. Looking great! 🌳🌲🌻🌸🌼
The life is coming back to it with every step you take, one can just feel it inside as it progresses. Rebuilding the top of the walls rapidly diminishes that look of ruin.
Great job on the arch Dan. Another amazing day of hard work for you all, well done, one more day until the weekend. Sleep well K🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️
The arch looks great Dan and the wall amazing! It is outstanding all that you all have accomplished in this time. So happy for you and it is such a joy to follow and watch all that you are doing to bring the Chateau back to life. All the best!
Dan, Nick and Brian are really getting things moving ahead and its taking more and more shape like the original Chateau now. Good job!
It is amazing what you alone have done, but I'm so glad you have Nick and friends there now!!
Hard work showing beautiful progress … great team of men !!!
I can’t wait to see you redo the bricks and stones on the top level. I really enjoy your vlog Dan.
WOW, CANOT BELIEVE HOW EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE YOU ALL ARE AS A TEAM. BRAVO ✅✅✅✅✅✅
Perfect morning without the rain 🙏🙏💯Your dogs are so good ones ,even they appear shortly in videos. We miss puppies 🐶
We want to see the puppies! 🐕 🐾 🐶 ❤
Gotta love how Elsa or Anna decide to lay where Nick is doing the gravel.
@@suewilson1801 Yikes. It looks like one of the doggies got covered by gravel. (See 2:26)
I'd forgotten about the amount of rooftop gardening.. .. aah, those were the days
Before you know it, there won't be any more walls or arches to repair. And then the roof will be on and it will be almost like building new from there! At least, that is how it seems from here. What remarkable work you, Nick and those who have come to help have accomplished. Loved the flashbacks to how it used to be--that memory does fade. What a stunning comparison.
C'est tout simplement incroyable tout le travail accompli, une fois le puzzle assemblé, le travail cinématique assemblé, deviendra un super film à regarder. Bravo à toute l'équipe !🤩🎥🎞
D'accord!
It wasn't so bad Dan. It's looking good.pretty soon the roofs. See you tomorrow
And many of us have been with you from day one ! Each time i see you drop a new posting here , i get a little excited to see what's next !
Never say never! 13 months ago I think we all were worried for you but you have shown what can be done when you put your mind to it! Congratulations Dan & team!👍👍👍
Morning everyone from Gold Coast Australia ❤
🇦🇺👍
Good afternoon from Dallas Texas! You all are amazing👍!
Morning from Sunshine Coast
Morning from Melbourne 🇦🇺
Good night !! 🇵🇹
Looking back to the beginning..... So glad you have the guys to help. It's immeasurable to see the progress of team work.💒
Any dentists out there willing to give lovely Nick a new smile for free? He is very deserving of it just as Dan was. It would make eating, speaking and everything better for Nick. I have wanted to mention this ever since Dan got his new teeth. Please someone help Nick out! 😁
Nic is worth it!! Good man.
We know the blood, sweat, and tears that have gone into your project! We've been there right along next to you, cheering you on! You've come a long way from the bungee harness. Great job!!👏💪🎉
Seems like that last masonry form for the ring beam just slotted in perfectly. You lucky bastards.
Those seem like small things, but when you are on a job site, little wins like that that might save you a few trips up and down the scaffold, or 30 minutes fitting, seem like winning the Powerball lotto.
You guys are amazing!! When we go back and see how far and how much has been done. I salute you.
"Nic has been after me for 10-months to build the wall for safety" - Nic and that safety, who would than thunk
Dan also said "make it ALL safe" and is EVERYTHING safe now?...
Nice arch Dan looking good. Just look over 13months at what you have a achieved . YOU should be very proud of what you have done Dan I know we all 👏👏 You are an inspiration to anyone He that Can and Does xx Loved watching see yer tomorrow😘😘
Whilst I haven't missed an episode, it is good to have a periodic reminder about just how far you have come this epic restoration. Bravo 👍👍
Why is watching this chateau renovation so intriguing? Part Dan, and part seeing something come together. So loving this!❤❤❤
It's wild to see that wall finished! I so clearly remember when you were working on it last year, and how scary the drop off was on the rear wing of the chateau, but now, now there are floors and tidy rows of bricks! You all are doing such great work! Thanks for sharing the journey with us.
Ah, the green tarp days!
Your tenacity is unbelievable to just getting it done in 13 month to this stage is terrific. As they say where there's a will there is a way and i cant wait to see what another 13 months will bring.
Been watching since the first clean out on the main floor. Amazing job and love the history of Chateau during the war era. Unbelievable….
