Thank You to Dr. Grimes for such a clear presentation. I note that even though this lecture was presented eleven years ago, there are still millions of people to this very day ( in 2002) who still need to hear this message.

Vitamin D needs Co-Factors to work properly in the body. Taking it in isolation may push calcium right up. Vitamin K2, Magnesium & Boron are important to support D absorption & utilisation & calcium orchestration.

Take a multi-vitamin and keep your Vitamin D levels 30-60 ng/ml...you should be fine.

In Dr. Grimes lecture he took note that with the High Vit D 20,000 IU/week for three months, he did not see Calcium rise. (in the lecture)
Yes, maybe with LONG term inputs K2 is necessary.
Of course Mag is always important (everyone is low), and most need K2. I take all of these, including boron : )
But for MD's let's not scare the crowd, let them know D IS GOOD!!

Jammybullfrog: Thank you for this comment-I am currently suffering from hypercalcemia and didn’t know what to consider next. I started with upping magnesium citrate, but the synergy issue wasn’t discussed in the four videos I’ve watched so far. I can’t tell you how valuable the comment sections are all over the internet. A minute of your time will make a big difference for me in studying the cofactor perspective now. Big thanks, as I feel like I have rocks in my kidneys, and the brain fog makes me feel like I’m having to drive my own ambulance. Sometimes the drs just don’t help, in fact, 15 years ago, this happened after a dr told me, “You can’t overdose on a vit D3 supplement.” I showed her mine on the spot. So I took the dose recommended at the time (in 2007), 2-12,000 IU. That be was a mistake. They told me later that I had permanent damage and that it was irreversible. I had to find my own way to detox, and it took a year. This Vit D3 issue is a huge problem to me. Your input helps a lot.

Excellent. It is deeply lamentable that the medical profession is, almost always, so uninformed about such an important subject - the more so because the remedy is so simple, and inexpensive. D3 high potency drops, 2500iu per 0.5ml are available on amazon. Overdosing on D3 is really quite difficult to do, unless one is rather silly. From what I have read, 5000iu per day is likely to be an entirely safe maximum upper limit for most of us.

Wonderful information. Definitely hope that additional information regarding the role of diet has been given since this video. Gluten, and grains in general, and pasteurized dairy are extremely damaging to the digestive system and therefore to the entire body. The digestive system is the center of health. Grains, pasteurized dairy, sugar, artificial ingredients including sweeteners, genetically modified organisms, meats from animals which haven't been raised as God intended, fish from contaminated waters chemically treated produce and water, processed foods, etc., all damage the body's ability to heal, absorb nutrients, and to thrive. Definitely sunshine and moderate exercise is important. Other nutrients to absorb Vitamin D, specifically D3, are important such as K2 mk7, as well. Sadly, many in the standard medical community worldwide continue to fail to focus on the digestive system as priority, the gut microbiome. Stressing to mothers how crucial it is to nurse their babies is of utmost importance fof the entire life of the baby. Reaerving C-sections as the last resort because the vaginal birth is so beneficial for the baby's microbiome for life. Mother's diet also is crucial for the baby while pregnant and nursing as well as for the mother. Horrid formulas destroy the baby's gut and health. Vaccines are completely unnecessary and greatly harm the body's immune system and toxify the entire body including the brain even resulting in death. To think anyone dares to add to an infant such disgusting toxins is completely inexcusable, or to anyone of any age.
At some point, we absolutely must return to the benefits of properly fermenting foods grown correctly, not mass agriculture treated with chemicals grown in depleted overused soils. A Functional Medicine approach instead of a pharmacological approach is crucial and can even be part of emergency medicine, a portion of which could have been avoided completely had there been the correct approach taken prior to such emergency situations. I do agree with considering the entire body in the picture, including genetics and even whether or not someone sleeps next to or near a person who snores...a question never or extremely rarely even asked. Frequency of consumption of foods matters greatly, especially with consumption without digestive rest for a while between consumption. That's absolutely crucial. Over exercise is extremely damaging due to oxidative stress. Distance runners especially are oftentimes at greater risk.
So many issues with the standard conventional pharmacological approach encouraged as the priority in MEDical schools, certainly at least in part if not completely due to the funding and leadership from the pharmaceutical industry. At least this video does address nutrients and sunshine as being an important focus to health. Thank you for posting this one.

Dr. Grimes was ahead of his time on this subject. I have kept my vitamin D level very high by current standards, for the last 10+ years. I am 76 years old now with no pain and healthier than ever. Three important cofactors for higher doses of vitamin D3 are magnesium glycinate, Vitamin K2, and omega 3 fish or krill oil.

I ask this question because like B12 it was mentioned I think either in Germany or Russia that when the injection base was water it was eliminated faster than when it was fat/oil base. Please what is your position?
