This remindes me of my grandmother who would be nearly 100 of she were still alive. I inherited her Sheet music of this song... And during this covid shut down and home school time, my sons video for sight words was playing this song! Oh so many memories. 😁 love you Grandma❤😘❤😘

it was rumored that my first piano teacher Lucy Valpy in Carmel Valley played that tune on Broadway back in the early 1900's. not sure if it's true but the song is familiar to me. Wonderful job playing it.... so many "Scott Joplin" components to that song.... thank you so much for the video .... nostalgic for me. (I am currently working jazz pianist/keyboardist in the San Francisco Bay Are. the tune just popped into my head - and I remembered it was called "Nola".

You do, on TH-cam - it's wonderful! Some recordings from that era - either actual discs, or piano-rolls (sometimes recorded by the original composers). There's one of the composer of this piece, Felix Arndt, playing it himself (though the player is set 84/78 too fast, but that can be fixed): th-cam.com/video/vg18fo-EIj0/w-d-xo.html

Nice performance of an early 20th century pop standard. Before radios and television and iTunes, people bought sheet music, took it home snd learned it on the piano in the parlor. Watch Meredith Wilson's "The Music Man" for a glimpse of this era. This piece is not too hard to play because it uses repetitive hand positions and patterns.

Hmmmmm ... I wonder how hard this is ...
This is one sweet piece, nicely done as well. There's a few other videos of this, at least one is a Victrola playing a disc cut by Arndt himself. There the composer himself plays it about double this tempo, and to me that's way too fast. Slowing it down just sounds much more musical ... and also give me a fighting chance to maybe learn it as well.

See also th-cam.com/video/7Xow-TM3JxU/w-d-xo.html played by the late lamented Judith Durham of The Seekers. Bear with the first 30 seconds in which she pretends that she's going to be playing something very "heavy" like Grieg's Concerto in A Minor, then she gives a cute little grin at the camera and launches into Nola.
