Grew up calling them walkie talkies. I usually call them handhelds or HTs as a ham now

Hi cal. Well I had my classic up a mountain today. Well 400mt approx smashing it with my g90 and the classic on 20 40 15m. What a machine with just 20 watts. Florida Orlando several us stations on 20 and 40 plus on 15. 40

+Question: When I use the 30M wire on the "Rapide" to wind the 40M coil, what is the total cut length of the wire? Thanks Callum, always enjoy you enthusiasm for the hobby
Erm.. Honestly I don't know.. But it would be 7m wire plus 13 x turns.. Diameter is ABOUT 35mm, so using pi at 3.142 with 13 turns, I recon you are looking at about 13 * 0.35 * 3.142 = 40 (ish).. SO I am guessing about 8m in total.

Hello 😁 a friend of mine has one of those Ratcatchers doing about 21 ft lbs…,or was it 25 ? I forget… I helped him build it up. 😏
Before anyone says… he is a RFD and I help out doing “things” 🫣 Nice shack layout… mines 97 % done, just needs shelves and a worktop for the radio equipment…
