  • A guided walk around Looe, Cornwall. A beautiful town full of history and brimming with charm! Joins us as we review the Heritage Trail put together by Looe Heritage initiative. We bought it from the tourist information centre for 50p!

    Looe... you've covered one of my favourite towns in Cornwall! Lovely to see it all, and we'll be trying the Heritage Trail next time! It's worth going for a wander around all the narrow streets up in the hillside, plenty of interesting historical thing to find! One of the best cafés in the world, Daisy's Cafe is always a stop for us too. :) Andrew is a right jester as well, by the way!

    Looe,the land of the Pengelly tribes. My folk are Pengelly's and The Jolly Sailor was once owned by one of my great uncles.Hope all's well you two,enjoyed that wander.

    Absolutely loved this walk Sarah & Andrew. As you may have guessed from some of our other comments, we really love Looe and it holds special memories for us. We learned a few new facts about this beautiful town, thank you for sharing. The views are stunning from the old coastguard cottages and even more so from the top of Barbican Hill/Road in East Looe, but you need to be very fit to walk it from the harbour!

      We have left some thing out of the video because we ill be returning to make some other videos in the area - don't want repeats or people will start calling us "Dave"! There is the obvious walk to Talland Bay and a few folklore and ghost stories to explore! Sarah :)

    Lovely and interesting walk round my home town! I've never done the heritage trail myself despite living there for 30 years - and I never knew about that devil-on-horseback ridge tile despite living near the Jolly Sailor! Many thanks.

      @CornishWalkingTrails  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Apparently there was another one on the cottage called the Islander, behind the meat market. We couldn't see it! I love the sentiment behind it and it would be a pity if, when the cottage had a new roof, the owners had just tipped it! Sarah :)

    Just loved this as we were based in East Looe the month of June on a home exchange. I sure wish we had popped into the Tourist Information to pick up this walk of the town but through your walk it helped a bit with the history. Again thank you for sharing this video!

    Well Hello Sarah ,Andrew , and Emily 😁 Great little town with such charm and funny little jokes courtesy of Andrew ,lol .The flowers in front of the church were absolutely gorgeous, especially the white ones!! Do you know what they were by chance ?? I noticed the name of the hair salon was” Posh and Cosy “ ,what a suitable name ,especially the cosy part !! Cornwall as a whole seems quite “cosy” . I hope you are enjoying your weekend , my husband Keith and I are busy as bees this weekend, I am doing lots of cleaning and he is busy with a project,my dad and stepmother will be arriving Friday from Maryland for a week which also will be my dad’s 70th birthday ,so lots of planning to do my way,lol .Sending lots of happiness your way ,Lori .

    • @CornishWalkingTrails
      @CornishWalkingTrails  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The big flowers were begonias, beautiful but tender in our climate, do not survive our winters. Cornwall is not so cosy today, we have a lot of rain and wind so will be spending our time getting the house cleaned and grocery shopping :( I guess it has to be done and i do enjoy a clean house! Sarah :)

      Perhaps thats something you can do if you walk it but tbh it would not be helpful as we tend to wonder around a lot, and it takes us about an hour per mile when filming so would drain our old phones! Sarah :)
