To place down the inside for the bowl shape, Try weighted bags of poly beads. Same thing they make weighted blankets with. You can make them as heavy as you need and whatever you sew them into, you can make smooth so it won't add a crease in the resin, then lay them over another layer of glossy plastic like a shower curtain. Because they're bags, they'll not have any hard edge to leave marks.

I love the swirls I see the starts of a face in it, I can just imagine it, the eyes and a hint of a nose with wavey hair. we sometimes make the most beautiful works of art as an unintentional swish of a wrist. Keep on producing more beautiful pieces with your experiments ........
I am doing good! Could use some prayers tonight through tomorrow! We found out they was selling our house we rent a bit back and have to be out by the end of the month. It's not in our price range but we did make an offer to buy another one and supposed to hear news tomorrow on it! We will be living with my in-laws for a bit. Things could be better! Really pretty! When you flip it out of the pink mold treat like a cake. Put a layer of baking paper on top of the mold and then a board on top. Flip it over and peel off the mold. Then you can see the back.
Julie, the bowl is absolutely beautiful with the swirls. I find that having too definite an idea of what you want doesn't allow for all of the other wonderful possibilities to present itself. Sometimes what we may consider mistakes make our art a one of a kind gem. What you created is an absolute gem. Thanks for sharing.
Wow that is beautiful well done. How would it be if you cut a piece of your silicone mat the size of the base of the platter put that on top of your resin and then placed something heavy on top of the mat
It came out beautifully 😍 I agree with another commenter who said using water. My thought is to put a silicone mat on top and then use, maybe balloons, filled with water to the size of the area you want held down in the middle of the bowl/platter. I think the swirls are pretty
I was almost yelling HEAT GUN JULIE 😂😂😂 That last hour ya have to be checking every 10-15 minutes. It goes really fast when it goes! I’ve cracked a couple pressing/forcing them into place. And then pushed the crack back together & ‘healed’ it with a little piece of plastic zipper bag, holding across like a bandaid, till it cured. Your platter turned out lovely ✨
Your art inspires and teaches me. It's so beautiful! Resin art has satisfied a creative side to me. With having some perfectionism in me, resin has helped me accept things as they are. Which makes every single piece unique and leaves me with a peaceful smile of awe! 😍 nothing is perfect and that's the beauty of art and this world.
To me the top side in the mold always looks better than the bottom side. I guess because you can see the manipulation of the top and you can't really control the bottom effects. Absolutely beautiful and, of course, those colors are so great together. Wonderful job! I love it when you take it outside and run the film. I love hearing the birds. You have such different bird song than what we have in the USA. Thank you for sharing.

I just found this video it's Absolutely Beautiful. My thought of how to weigh the whole middle was not heat gun but use your silicone mat and add large bottles of paint or glue ya know the gallon size just MIO 😊❤
