Canva controls are different these days and there are some extra items on the KDP submission form, BUT I managed to figure it out with your excellent teaching and maybe some language. I followed both of your videos to publish a journal. I did the exact dimensions suggested and now its telling me that all my pages have writing outside the margins.
Can you please make a short (new June 2023) video about the category options available on kdp, as the kdp options menu has been changed, display-wise... so sometimes (for noobies, like me) it's a bit confusing, how to choose a category for Journal, notepad, notebook, etc. By the way, thanks for your super easy tutorial videos, which are very helpful and easy to follow 😍👍 already a subscriber.

Hi, Paul. Thanks for this video series, very helpful. I received the notice you mentioned about the low content KDP changes. My email says the changes will be effective on 5/17/22, and will have a low content box to check when entering the book’s title. It explains the new ISBN policy. I’m anxious to see your video on these changes and hear your thoughts. I’m wondering why they’re doing this and how it will affect the overall process of publishing and selling low content books. Also, wonder whether it will be better to buy an ISBN instead of publishing without one. They mention activity books, puzzle books and coloring books will not be considered low content books. Lots of questions in my mind on these changes. Thanks again for all your help. Also, have tried to contact you, but my message evidently isn’t getting through.
Thank you Paul for the step by step instructions, I followed your instructions and it went through with no issue. I published my first simple book. The item I am having issues is when I create designs that have many elements and go over the bleed line (just like how you did it with the stamps) KDP gives me multiple errors and I have tried to correct it but is still not working. I do believe that KDP has been having issues when uploading the designs but I still have not been able to upload the pretty design I did. :(
@@paulmarles Thank you BTW for thanking the time to answer, I was referring to my cover. I started using book bolt and that’s how I was able to overcome the issue. I’ve done quite a few and of course no sells yet but will continue trying. Thank you for your tutorials I’ve learned so much. 🤗

Both upload buttons, for the cover and the interior just do nothing when I click on them! I tried in chrome and safari, logged out, re-started, all of that. NADA. Any clue on a fix? Thank you!
Paul, I have a coloured watermark on my interior of the journal. If I choose standard colour, will that be much more expensive? Should I keep the watermark and print in black and white?
Hiya Paul. I'm trying to set up my KPD account, I've created my first notebook and uploaded it (thank you for all your great tutorials btw!) but it won't let me proceed until I enter a TIN? Do I really have to register this with HMRC? I just wanted to give it a go, as a hobby, do I seriously have to drag myself through the HMRC hoops to do this? 🤔
Thank you so much for your videos, they are so helpful. I am having a problem over and over with my cover files. I have them sized as instructed i.e. 8.5x11 book cover is 17.475x11.25 according to the KDP calculator. When I upload it doesn't reach the bottom of the template in the print previewer. I have tried 4 different files and some have been grossly lengthened just for testing, still the same issue. I have the bleed setting chosen. Could there be a setting that I am missing?
Hi can you tell me if you have to add a front and back to the book cover or does it automatically do it for you I want the front to look like the back but I'm afraid if I do it wrong the back of my book may come out black and not color can you let me know so I don't mess up please. ❤️

You can upload the lined interior into something like Canva and just delete the lines off every other page.

Hi, Paul. Thanks for this video series, very helpful. I received the notice you mentioned about the low content KDP changes. My email says the changes will be effective on 5/17/22, and will have a low content box to check when entering the book’s title. It explains the new ISBN policy. I’m anxious to see your video on these changes and hear your thoughts. I’m wondering why they’re doing this and how it will affect the overall process of publishing and selling low content books. Also, wonder whether it will be better to buy an ISBN instead of publishing without one. They mention activity books, puzzle books and coloring books will not be considered low content books. Lots of questions in my mind on these changes. Thanks again for all your help. Also, have tried to contact you, but my message evidently isn’t getting through.

Thank you Paul for the step by step instructions, I followed your instructions and it went through with no issue. I published my first simple book. The item I am having issues is when I create designs that have many elements and go over the bleed line (just like how you did it with the stamps) KDP gives me multiple errors and I have tried to correct it but is still not working. I do believe that KDP has been having issues when uploading the designs but I still have not been able to upload the pretty design I did. :(
Are you talking about the interior or cover? And exactly what error are you getting?
@@paulmarles Thank you BTW for thanking the time to answer, I was referring to my cover. I started using book bolt and that’s how I was able to overcome the issue. I’ve done quite a few and of course no sells yet but will continue trying. Thank you for your tutorials I’ve learned so much. 🤗

I don't think they let you progress to publishing without having bank details set up.
@@paulmarles found a way to set it up...my book is still "In Review"...nervous if it will be granted...and IF it will sell. Haha

Thank you SO MUCH for all you do here. I'm uploading my second book and the buttons on the kdp page aren't working. Both upload buttons, for the cover and the interior just do nothing when I click on them! I tried in chrome and safari, logged out, re-started, all of that. NADA. Any clue on a fix? Thank you!

Paul, I have a coloured watermark on my interior of the journal. If I choose standard colour, will that be much more expensive? Should I keep the watermark and print in black and white?
Yes, it will be quite a bit more expensive if you publish a color interior. If you want a watermark then I'd print in black and white.
Hiya Paul. I'm trying to set up my KPD account, I've created my first notebook and uploaded it (thank you for all your great tutorials btw!) but it won't let me proceed until I enter a TIN? Do I really have to register this with HMRC? I just wanted to give it a go, as a hobby, do I seriously have to drag myself through the HMRC hoops to do this? 🤔
That’s their requirements in order to pay out any royalties.
Thank you so much for your videos, they are so helpful. I am having a problem over and over with my cover files. I have them sized as instructed i.e. 8.5x11 book cover is 17.475x11.25 according to the KDP calculator. When I upload it doesn't reach the bottom of the template in the print previewer. I have tried 4 different files and some have been grossly lengthened just for testing, still the same issue. I have the bleed setting chosen. Could there be a setting that I am missing?
What size are you setting your book at on KDP? It sounds like KDP is expecting a larger cover size than the book you're creating.
Hi can you tell me if you have to add a front and back to the book cover or does it automatically do it for you I want the front to look like the back but I'm afraid if I do it wrong the back of my book may come out black and not color can you let me know so I don't mess up please. ❤️
You upload a single pdf file with the front and back cover design on that you have to add.
