Live Fly Tying, How to tie the Marion Cormorant

Quill: Gaga Flies Magic Quill
Cheeks: Jungle Cock Dyed Picric
Thorax: Troutstalkers Highland Peat
Wing: Comp Candy Black Jack Marabou.
Cormorants are really popular flies here in the UK especially amongst the competition fraternity. A super effective mini lure that can be fished slow like a nymph and still be effective. The idea for this one came from a photograph on Facebook by Brian Marion of a fly he had tied. It was a cross between a nymph and a cormorant and boasted a bronze mallard wing.
As ever I have played with it a bit and come up with this pattern, can't wait to get out in the spring and try it!
