    I worked as a government financial analyst and even though I had zero experience when I first started, once I got the basics mastered, I quickly grew into someone who could think of immediate solutions to very complex problems. Some things take time to understand but eventually it becomes much easier and you grow into becoming an authority in that area.

      @@rayhana9259 right now in the Google Data Analytics program Excel, R, Tableau, and SQL are covered. When I worked as a financial analyst, I used Excel daily and Crystal Reports for extracting data and running queries. I also used a few customized data bases where I could build a canned script to pull information like employee salary increases. So most of my learning has been on the job.

    Regarding the sample question/problem “Customers are not subscribing to a paid membership once the trial ends”: what type of data would you use to answer that problem? Haven’t got an idea which type of data would help to answer that/ if there is any kind of data that tells why they don’t subscribe. Thanks for your help!

    • @lala_halo897
      @lala_halo897 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! I’m not a data analysis but this is my assumption:
      I would assume the analyst would look at everyone who DOES subscribe to a paid membership. Then they would analysis what all those subscribers have in common ie. Is it a particular age group, ethnicity, location, is it most males/females , particular professions etc
      Assuming the companys goal is to get more paid subscribers, the analyst would clean the data, present it to the company, and the board would make the executive decision based off that data. Ie. “It looks like people who subscribe to our product are mostly 50-70 year olds. Lets advertise in older communities”. Or “most of our subscribers are doctors/medical professionals. We need to market ourselves to the head of health departments” etc
      But also, idk lol

    Sometimes explaining and reading the guidelines of a career sounds alot more complicated than it really is. I'm an accoutant and I can explain in detail what I do, but really it's just make sure everything is accurate while taking into consideration other factors. I could easily transition to a data analyst or for my case, a financial analyst.

      @@omarioBOSboy01 I'm an accountant as well, for the past 8 years and can definitely agree with @fineth9319. I have been anywhere between a full-cycle accountant all the way up to a financial analyst for corporate companies, and in line with @fineth9319: most people make it seem like it's complicated and like a very serious working environment, from job descriptions to what social media, tv shows and other people assume accountants are, (serious people in front of computers in cubicles, you can hear a pin drop for how quiet it is, etc.), or encounters people have had with some, but it's nothing far than what it really is for the majority in that profession.
      The jist of it is as simple as: knowing how to add and subtract, making sure reports and data is accurate (being analytical), data entry, manipulating data and other things.
      Depending on where you live, you can make good money, especially in major cities, like Miami, New York and Los Angeles in the United States.

      Not at all! Data analyst's require high school level maths which is not difficult at all. If you know the basics, you're already on your way to become a well-rounded data analyst. There are three topics of math that are needed for the job: calculus, linear algebra, and statistics. Also, as you're studying different data analytics topics, you can put in the time to learn these in more detail too!

      Hi Ruth! Certainly not, your responsibilities will vary greatly depending on the job you're applying for, in certain jobs there can be a requirement to know some coding to fully utilize the data acquired. However, normally this will be listed at the "requirements" section so you can make an informed decision whether the role suits you well.
