Well...this gave me a lot of feelings. Luz's classroom tirade, which makes me think her feelings of guilt are literally making her suicidal, Hunter just bawling his eyes out at being considered part of the family, Camilla coming to terms with everything, including her own guilt, Vee blushing for Masha, Belos being a complete monster...and poor little Flapjack. And I hate that we're getting so little time dedicated to all of it. Still amazing, though.
Camila is such a good mom, taking in five kids from another world, supporting her daughter, both in terms of her interests, and her sexuality despite what everyone around her says and even saving a possessed Hunter from drowning. I'm happy to say, she's become one of my favorite characters.
Another thing that really got me is the fact that when Hunter threw the blood in water, he knew Belos would go after it, even if he was in Hunter's body. Hunter preferred to let himself drown rather than letting Belos get the blood. Holy... Ouch.. Edit: And The way he announces the things that he's always wanted to do as a teen rather than what Belos made him do before throwing it didn't' make it any better ;-;

Yeah the fact that Hunter kinda talked to him, I think he might be aware of him the same way Belos was aware of the palisman creature but obviously the inner Hunter will probably live in harmony with Flapjack in his mind.
It's both funny and sad that the gang more or less wasted a whole year trying and failing to make a portal door only for Belos to show up, grab titan's blood, and go through that opening.
In Hollow Mind, there was a scene where Belos had crushed a bird palisman in front of Luz and Hunter. I had suspected it was a foreshadowing of something similar happening to Flapjack but hoped it'd never happen.
So I'm thinking her staff will be a snake, just because it's so heavy on that. The snake skin in a frame and the egg being placed by it, the snake on a staff that's on Luz's t shirt while she's in school, and when Luz is wondering what her staff will be, there's also a drawing of a snake in her notebook. Cannot wait for the moment she gets to use it!!
Snakes also represent rebirth due to shedding their skin, we can see that she found a shed snake skin and that camila kept it. It may be even more foreshadowing
I love how so many people were doing a ship between Vee and the popular girl from human school because it made them think of Lumity…but the real ship is Vee/Masha! Also we can all agree that Hunter’s face when he mentions that he loves wolves is precious. 😊

I always kind of hoped Vee would end up with Marsha (or at least crush on them) because they have such strong witchy vibes (especially with saying "thank goddess no" this episode) Also, yes. I thought he was calling someone else Evelyn? Not Flapjack. Remember that was the name of the witch that Caleb fell in love with and who gave Caleb the palisman Flapjack.(Who was shown in the hay ride as part of the temptations.) If all of the story is true, then Flapjack is very old.
I think he just meant the memory of her. Otherwise why would flapjack tell hunter that's his name and use he/him pronouns. I mean I'm all for breaking gender norms with names but it'd be weird to do that only for a palesman with the soul of a witch. Also, we see flapjack alongside Evalyn in the human representations of the whitabane brother's tale. It also wouldn't make sense if Caleb died before Evalyn (as we saw in hollow mind) since we see Caleb with flapjack more than once.
I SOBBED WATCHING THE EPISODE /srs and then I texted every single one of my TOH friends and we collectively screamed at each other. I’ve never kinned Luz more. She is a people pleaser, she got bullied when she was a kid for being silly (silly = /pos), she is extremely ADHD coded, she deals with her trauma via escapism, she talks a ton, she infodumps, she stims, and she is BI (the only thing that I don’t relate is the dad thing but poor girl nooooo)
Almost Every one of the pics in that scrapbook couldve been whole episodes by themselves. Unless new management brings this show back ill never forgive Disney for trying to stifle this show. Huge kudos to Dana and her team for doing the best they could with what they were given.

The condensed story-telling, no matter how great it is, shows itself with Amity tripping over the reebus, the map of old gravesfield bieng in the picture behind the gang, the titan's blood being in a relatively easy to find spot, and them thanking the human realm for such good adventures. I feel nothing for the human realm itself thanks to Disney.
Wait... WAIT! Bellos through this entire special has been possessing creatures (and then disintegrating them) and it all culminated into possessing Hunter. But does that imply that He will try to posses the collector to abuse his powers to destroy the Boiling Ilse's entirely? I have a small feeling in me that the Collector might not destroy everything on his own (especially if he meets Eda and she adopts him and he has a happy home) and if that's the case, then Bellos could come back into the picture and still be the final Baddy at the end of it all.
I watched it last night, and I can say I'm so glad I brought some popcorn and tissues. It's so great that we can see Camila as an understandable mother and being able to help her daughter when she needs the most. As for Flapjack, its sacrifice goes to show the loyalty a palisman can have for its owners, even though they have an independent will and soul. It did what its own heart commanded and no one could change that. Seriously, WHY WE COULDN'T HAVE A FULL SEASON 3?

Hunter has brown eyes, so now he looks more like Caleb. Also, I have become depressed after this episode. Both my favorite boys went through some serious shit during this. Hunter has emotional and PHYSICAL scars from Belos and my Feather Baby, Flapjack died. I cried so hard and my dad had no clue so he just hugged me and said if I needed to talk, he would listen. I just... I'm in grief right now and I have to try so hard not to in front of my mom because she has no clue what TOH is or that I watch it (no she's not homophobic; she's bi like me, I just haven't introduced it to her yet)
Someone on Twitter pointed this out wrt Flapjack and it made me feel a little better after seeing that scene: Palisman that got absorbed by Belos ended up trapped in his mindscape, so now that he's sacrificed himself for Hunter, he gets to be with someone who truly cared for him always ❤️

In that opening six minutes you can almost see all the episodes we didn't get. So Camilla was a fangirl back in the day too. This episode was amazing its also pretty obvious on what ideas would have been in season 3 but I’m happy with the owl house even I hope everyone who worked on the show gets make great shows of their own some day.
I have a theory. What if when flapjack healed/fused With Hunter and his eyecolor changed, flapjack essentially gave him a form of a bile sack. Because we know that the red eyes are a characteristic grim Walker thing. And also now Hunter‘s huge thing is that he can’t do magic without a staff. What if now because flapjacks magic was used to heal hunter, hunter now has a bit of magic actually in him so he’s able to do circle magic.

I'm still not sure what to think of it except the closest to logic - that Flapjack belonged to Evelyn originally and "killing" him would be like destroying the last part of her that still remained. The best lies Belos has told are the ones he tells himself. For all his years he has never questioned what he is doing is wrong he truly believes he is in the right with every action.
I realized that look at these names: Gwendalyn Edalyn (,Idk if writing it right sorry) And now Evelyn.. the names all sound similar so i think evelyn was part of the family, also in the episode where edas mom (gwen) is introduced, she said her family member told her she saw a human once (caleb)

This episode greatly disturbed me. Even ignoring the fact that Luz's absolutely irrational guilt was completely downplayed by acting like one line from Hunter will fix anything, but there was so much that was skipped for no reason.

Morgan when you brought up the brown eyes I had to slap myself because I never realized that on my watch. This though has me thinking... It was theorized that Hunter was incomplete because he isn't able to perform magic. What if the palismen wood was the missing part? (wasn't it in the grimwalker book???) I recommend everyone watch "Why Hunter Had to Die" by Idle Scree, it is such a great breakdown of how the Belos possession works to continue Hunter's narrative themes and how well structured this was despite all the challenges that The Owl House team had to deal with. Hunter is suffering and Flapjack's death is awful to experience, but they did Hunter's story so elegantly and I feel like Idle Scree did a good job showing that off.
About the rain: They were so traumatized the first time they didn't even realize it was raining. They were in shock, and not 100% "there". There was just too much going on. So, that was probably their first *real* encounter with human rain, fully cognizant of it.

I thought he was calling someone else Evelyn? Not Flapjack. Remember that was the name of the witch that Caleb fell in love with and who gave Caleb the palisman Flapjack.(Who was shown in the hay ride as part of the temptations.) If all of the story is true, then Flapjack is very old.
I think he just meant the memory of her. Otherwise why would flapjack tell hunter that's his name and use he/him pronouns. I mean I'm all for breaking gender norms with names but it'd be weird to do that only for a palesman with the soul of a witch.
Also, we see flapjack alongside Evalyn in the human representations of the whitabane brother's tale. It also wouldn't make sense if Caleb died before Evalyn (as we saw in hollow mind) since we see Caleb with flapjack more than once.

I SOBBED WATCHING THE EPISODE /srs and then I texted every single one of my TOH friends and we collectively screamed at each other. I’ve never kinned Luz more. She is a people pleaser, she got bullied when she was a kid for being silly (silly = /pos), she is extremely ADHD coded, she deals with her trauma via escapism, she talks a ton, she infodumps, she stims, and she is BI (the only thing that I don’t relate is the dad thing but poor girl nooooo)
I was crying so hard during the camila part, i could relate to luz way too much.

Luz's little sculpture of King's skull looks more Cubone-y than ever; Cubone's skull has a couple of cracks under the eye, where those two seems are.
The condensed story-telling, no matter how great it is, shows itself with Amity tripping over the reebus, the map of old gravesfield bieng in the picture behind the gang, the titan's blood being in a relatively easy to find spot, and them thanking the human realm for such good adventures. I feel nothing for the human realm itself thanks to Disney.

But does that imply that He will try to posses the collector to abuse his powers to destroy the Boiling Ilse's entirely? I have a small feeling in me that the Collector might not destroy everything on his own (especially if he meets Eda and she adopts him and he has a happy home) and if that's the case, then Bellos could come back into the picture and still be the final Baddy at the end of it all.

I watched it last night, and I can say I'm so glad I brought some popcorn and tissues. It's so great that we can see Camila as an understandable mother and being able to help her daughter when she needs the most.
As for Flapjack, its sacrifice goes to show the loyalty a palisman can have for its owners, even though they have an independent will and soul. It did what its own heart commanded and no one could change that.

Hunter has brown eyes, so now he looks more like Caleb. Also, I have become depressed after this episode. Both my favorite boys went through some serious shit during this. Hunter has emotional and PHYSICAL scars from Belos and my Feather Baby, Flapjack died. I cried so hard and my dad had no clue so he just hugged me and said if I needed to talk, he would listen. I just... I'm in grief right now and I have to try so hard not to in front of my mom because she has no clue what TOH is or that I watch it (no she's not homophobic; she's bi like me, I just haven't introduced it to her yet)
Someone on Twitter pointed this out wrt Flapjack and it made me feel a little better after seeing that scene:
Palisman that got absorbed by Belos ended up trapped in his mindscape, so now that he's sacrificed himself for Hunter, he gets to be with someone who truly cared for him always ❤️

I have a theory. What if when flapjack healed/fused With Hunter and his eyecolor changed, flapjack essentially gave him a form of a bile sack. Because we know that the red eyes are a characteristic grim Walker thing. And also now Hunter‘s huge thing is that he can’t do magic without a staff. What if now because flapjacks magic was used to heal hunter, hunter now has a bit of magic actually in him so he’s able to do circle magic.

I'm curious what you think about the "Goodbye, Evelyn" part. I'm still not sure what to think of it except the closest to logic - that Flapjack belonged to Evelyn originally and "killing" him would be like destroying the last part of her that still remained.

Also, belos mentioned that he knew luz was holding back and not fighting seriously cause she didnt want to hurt hunter. He has fought her one on one twice, he definatly was paying attention to her.
This episode greatly disturbed me. Even ignoring the fact that Luz's absolutely irrational guilt was completely downplayed by acting like one line from Hunter will fix anything, but there was so much that was skipped for no reason.

Morgan when you brought up the brown eyes I had to slap myself because I never realized that on my watch. This though has me thinking... It was theorized that Hunter was incomplete because he isn't able to perform magic. What if the palismen wood was the missing part? (wasn't it in the grimwalker book???) Hunter might be a complete copy now and able to use magic, hence his brown eyes.

I recommend everyone watch "Why Hunter Had to Die" by Idle Scree, it is such a great breakdown of how the Belos possession works to continue Hunter's narrative themes and how well structured this was despite all the challenges that The Owl House team had to deal with.
Hunter is suffering and Flapjack's death is awful to experience, but they did Hunter's story so elegantly and I feel like Idle Scree did a good job showing that off.
About the rain: They were so traumatized the first time they didn't even realize it was raining. They were in shock, and not 100% "there". There was just too much going on. So, that was probably their first *real* encounter with human rain, fully cognizant of it.
