I rarely leave comments, but I have been watching you for years, as well as seeing Van on his own and through Tom Sachs. This combination is perfect and always so lovely to see overlap in people that inspire you. Job well done !
3:556:21 I use this center photo of Van in my pc wallpaper. Van, alongside Hugg Herr and Basquiat. My three inspirations. Thank you for taking his picture.
This is a beautiful video. I felt it especially at the part starting at 2:20 with the classical piano soundtrack as you were describing how the dark room process has become sacred to you.
I started getting into Van’s stuff at the beginning of this year, watching all of his videos and taking a lot of inspo… much like I did about two years ago with yours, Willem. I know it’s just a youtube video of some people I don’t know, but this video means a lot. Thanks Willem and Van.
Remember when Mr. Rogers showed how crayons were made? That's what this episode reminds me of. So soothing. Showing "behind the scenes" of the process. The photo colors were so beautiful! I love the photo of Van in the shed and the one following with him and his camera. Even the pencil with the white eraser fit perfectly. This is my favorite video from you to date. Thank you for sharing!
Probably one of my favorite videos of yours ever. The pacing is like a lullaby, not one that puts you to sleep, but one that brings you peace and comfort. Beautiful images as always!
Wowww, thats so crazy. Bot of you, willem and van are my latest findings on youtube. I follow you now for about 6 months and this is such a nice gettogether of two amazing humans! Thank you
Wow Willem - I've been watching you for a while now & seeing your work develop and mature has been so inspiring. I feel like this year has been a huge leap even further forward, with some really magical videos. This has gotta be a favourite of mine. It needs more views!!
I recently experienced an exhibition of Andy Warhol's photography, and your work really reminds me of his, in the sense of it containing this unexplainable energy & timeless quality which I think will be appreciated for so many years to come. Keep it up Willem!
Wonderful work, Willem. Your darkroom printing videos inspire me to set up my own darkroom for printing someday. Such a special, intentional process. Love it.
this is incredible! I recently got to use the darkroom to print some images for the first time and it felt so special to experience my work through this process :) + the clip from 4:42 looks like from a movie!!
This is a special one, Willem. Such a moving piece of work.
Thank you so much Braxton!
You all did an amazing job , always wanted to this someday and be a part of a thing like this .
Damn middle east
What a combo. 2 of my favorite artists on this platform in 1 video!
@Cancer Journey was literally going to say this, the most unexpected of crossovers but I'm so here for it!
Not the most efficient, not the most convenient, the one that makes you make.
Awesome stuff, Willem.
❤️
Lovely
This one was exquisite
Beautifully shot & beautifully told. The shot at 4:42 when you open the enlarger and the light hits your face is so good.
Love Love Van Neistat…and a huge fan of yours, AND your bags! Thanks for sharing.

No lightroom. No screens. Just light - the way you saw it. Beautiful images Willem! Now I want to build a darkroom in my house 😂
Yeah, me too. And That’s a problem because I don’t have enough space nor the Money for It 😂🥲
The Spirited Man and the Spirited Film Whisperer in a collab straight from the heavens. Much love from East Tennessee!🙏🏼
This was super cool, Thanks for sharing Willem!

Great as always. Being newish to film, I have zero darkroom experience, so it’s cool to see that.
This is an insane collab I wouldn't have expected in a million years.

the technicality and connect you talk about with darkroom printing is how I feel about film photography. I miss the darkroom. thank you for this!

You get it! Photons making marks. It is beautiful and I pity anyone who doesn’t get to experience capturing reality in that way
