    Same thing happened to me this winter. One of my 5 gal. Carboys bottom broke and spilled the Peach everywhere. Still smells a bit. I was so looking forward to the peach. Oh well there's always this year. Thanks for your great videos and mango is now on our list to make as well.

    So mango was my first wine attempt. I made it around 15% 😅 then tried to ad more sugar to compensate for how strong it was lol. It’s bad but I always have great memories when I drink it. Second batch was red wine with frozen juice concentrate that one is around 8-9%. And that is amazing. I want to make a banana one but kinda nervous so going to make orange and orange cream based off your video!!!

    use plastic fermonster carboys and bottoms won't fall out anymore like on the glass ones. I don't use the big glass carboys anymore after having a bottom fall out and getting my hand cut.

    Good Morning. Quick question. Rehydrated some betonite since this Sunday gone by, so four days ago but have not had time to add to my wine. How long can rehydrated betonite last before adding it to any wine? Packaging says "let rehydrate for 24hrs, add slurry blah blah blah", lol. My slurry as mentioned, is now 96 hrs estimate out. Can I still use it?

    Hi! I'm new to wine making and just started my first batch of mango wine, which is bubbling away nicely! I was wondering if adding water at 3:28 wouldn't make the wine just more watery? Or is there enough sugars and yeasts left in the wine to compensate for that? Thanks for your helpfull videos!! :)

    • @HowToDoneRight
      @HowToDoneRight  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you followed this recipe it accounts for adding water as we added extra fruit upfront. For a 5 gallon batch of wine it is OK to add half gallon... the wine will not be watered down at all.

    • @alebello1987
      @alebello1987 หลายเดือนก่อน

      technically if it kills mould it should kill the residual yeast that we will need to generates bubbles once inserted the sugar

    • @HowToDoneRight
      @HowToDoneRight  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @alebello1987 potassium sorbate stops fermentation not campden tablets. you use potassium sorbate when bottling your wine. Many videos on bottling wine.

    I am curious to know that in case of mango wine, unlike for other fruit wines made by you, LIQUID KIESESOL or Chitosan is being added as a filtering agent instead of Bentonite ? If yes, why this is so?

    • @HowToDoneRight
      @HowToDoneRight  ปีที่แล้ว

      Bentonite is my go to when I have time... if I want wine in 30 days I use the liquor qwik.... but bentonite I think produces better results... never rush Wine making... go bentonite.

  • @FullDottle
    @FullDottle ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Sorry to post twice but......
    I just made this mango wine; I used bentonite, then the (kill-us-all & cheeto sand) but the wine is still hazy. I did use pectic enzyme during primary. I am doing a dual fining but the wine isn't coming out clear. Help!

    • @HowToDoneRight
      @HowToDoneRight  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Does it smell ok.... if so just may need to let it settle out in the carboy until clears on its own... don't rush it.

    • @FullDottle
      @FullDottle ปีที่แล้ว

      Smells beautiful! I fermented on bentonite this time after doing some reading and now I can't get it to clear.

    • @HowToDoneRight
      @HowToDoneRight  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So you put that in fermenter?

    • @FullDottle
      @FullDottle ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I read in a wine academy article. Not sure if that's what caused this impossible haze or not. I'm making an identical batch but this time not fermenting on bentonite. We shall see.
