is there a way to zoom in or zoom lens to add on? Or is always going to be wide angle
zoom lenses on action cameras don't yet exist, the technology is all wide angle
@@JakeRichandAnnaChah Thanks, we know it wide angle. Which I mostly get as it is an Action camera. But, it gotten so good. I just throwing it out there. That a screw on zoom. At least to 50MM would be great. As 50MM is bascially normal vision for a human. Which for Vloggers if they do not want to look Fatter from the wide angle. It would be great! Just ideas to put other. So companies will go. Oh, ya, great idea. we can easly do a screw on lens. Which we can sell as accessory and make even more $$$$

4k 25fps (or 30fps) in standard dewarp video mode

Got my action 3 last month! Should I regret
Action 4 has very minor improvement, and they bumped the price to $399. Even at the same price, Action 4 couldn't beat GoPro 11 in terms of video quality and stability. We have to wait and see what GoPro 12 does in September.

Nice new camera, Shame though that my less than one year old OA3 only had two updates in its lifetime both just to fix the factory fuck up. Albeit one of them having 10 bit colour. in which I will never use.
And now is no longer supported it seems. I don’t get why they make it possible to update a Camera to keep it up-to-date when they stop keeping it up-to-date Within a within a 12 month span .
and just replace it with the next new thing.
I’m feeling a little bit gypped just like when my DJI mini two stopped getting updates at nine months old. This might be the downfall of DJI. in my eyes it’s definitely the least favourite thing about DJI clearly the Osmo action three is capable of some of these new updates supported on the Osmo action for maybe not all but definitely some.

I was thinking exactly the same! I thought maybe they used a post trick to enhance it. It would have been nice if along with labels they would have put the camera settings in all those different situations, especially the low light.... But the video is very cool.

Sold my DJI Osmo Action 3 and will soon be ordering the Action 4. I had good times with the 3, but it was noticeably weak in low light and especially night 4k walk/explore video capturing. I want to capture better quality imagery video in low light.

impressive camera
Just started a channel and insta. I want to film while running, occasional travel trips for races, and sit down recap videos of a training week. Do you think the $100 extra for the 4 over the 3 is necessary? I’ll be using whatever color profiles are on the camera and not really doing much if any color grading.
Yes the 4 over the 3 is actually quite the step up in terms of image sensor

The only thing that stops me from using DJI is the magnet mount. I cannot trust it for extreme activities. Would only use it for vlogging.
to be fair, it's extemely durable, we used it mounted to a car at 90km-h
If you still have doubts, you can also use the Small Rig cage with Arca Swiss mount and tripod screws.

It is getting tougher and tougher to decide witch action cam to go with these days. This new offering from DJI is very tempting to make the switch from Gopro.
This is why I bought and stick to my GoPro hero 7 and first dji osmo action because I knew they’d get more expensive too

I am sure the DJI users will appreciate that video. 😉 Apart from professionals like you who have all types of cameras, I think the major action camera vendors have their fans now...and they have quite different user profiles. Normally the Gopro 12 will be released soon so you might as well make a comparison with the last release...🙃😉
what about the invisible stick feature...? how does it work? man I will feel sad to change ships from GoPro to OA4 ..... however I will wait till Hero12 drops (loyalty first)

The audio in your video needs to be normalized. The music is too loud and when you're talking it's too low, so I constantly have to adjust my volume.
Be honest, and compare later when Gopro12 is available. Now it's not right, a Gopro that is a year older than aCTION 4 that is just now new.

I appreciate the review and am trying to decide between this and the Hero 11. I want to believe the reviews I'm watching but I just watched a review from DC Rainmaker who patently said the Action 4 just isn't as good as the Hero 11. Just looking for the best for making YT videos. Sigh.

I do not see a notable improvement in terms of dynamic range and image quality, not even against the Gopro11 and it sounds logical because although the sensor has grown a bit in size, it is still small and that limitation is something difficult to overcome, placing a sensor of at least 1 inch in an action camera would bring with it a lot of problems and they would stop being what they are, they would have to be bigger, with longer batteries, and with a variable focus system because the focal length would be very different between the farthest and the near. DJI is bombarding us with a lot of marketing and it seems to me that this is the result of trying to correct the gross mistakes it made with the Action2 and 3. I have seen more than 50 videos on TH-cam in a few days "praising" this camera which is more of the same.
Agreed, the 1 inch sensor isn’t an option for these cameras as you well explained it would completely change the form factor and prove difficult for focusing, which is one of the strengths of these tools. Sony already tried it in 2018 with the RX0 II and it’s UX design was clunky and hard to use making it difficult for the everyday user. However that being said, the Action 4 has notable improvements in dynamic range from its predecessor in almost every example we show and tested, it’s a much improved camera in terms of image quality compared to OA3 - compared to Hero 11 were testing it at the moment and haven’t seen many significant differences so in terms of product offering it’s much the same. Which is great, 2 highly capable action cameras designed for the toughest and rugged of sports and environments💫🤘🏽
Thx for this test, not so many low light footage tho. You guys rock. I really hate that wide angle at 7:12 which makes your body so large.
5:56 is all after sunset, yes the ultra wide FOV will have this distorted effect close up
Action 4 very disappointing. Better to stay with the gopro 11 or wait for gopro 12
I returned my Action 3 and stayed with my GoPro 11. I really like GoPro‘s 8x7 format allowing me to shoot first and reframe later so that I can use the same videos both for TH-cam and TikTok. Same with Insta360 cameras. Unfortunately DJI has not given is this option with OA4…
There is a 4:3 (3840×2880 30-60 FPS) video option. I think its good enough, but would be better with higher res option.
I still love the look of my hero 11. Excited to see what hero 12 has to offer.
I'm with you on that 🙌 I'm really hoping GoPro will step up and give us some real upgrades on the 12 and not just a slightly improved 11.
@vlightphotography rumor is 1 inch sensor this year and 4k 240 fps ! We shall see
@@dadlifetravel if they do the 1" sensor, it'll be enough reasons for me to upgrade from my GoPro 11. Also I wish they would add the 10bit color on every mode.
